SFW was great to work with on this project. We were replacing a deck and they took care of demolition, designing a new deck and once construction was done, did a great job working with us to find the best stain. We also had to do some house painting around the area of the deck and SFW also was able to help us with this as well. Overall, a great experience, very professional crews.

Had a larger crew than was necessary. But the problem was promptly and efficiently diagnosed and corrected.

They worked very slow dragged it by working slow. Which increased cost way high. Disappointed. Watch out when you hire them.

Slow at first, seemed like job lead liked to talk a lot. Once change job leads project went more quickly. Great communication throughout project. Work was excellent.

I highly recommend using SFW Construction to do any maintenance project you have. I had three different, difficult projects that were one after the other. Sandra in scheduling was readily available making getting an appointment easy, Nancy in Billing kept me updated everyday so I could keep an eye on the price and was prompt and clear with the invoice when the project was done. I had Christian come and check on quality control and satisfaction. Greg, Chuck, and Alex were friendly, extremely knowledgeable project managers who fixed my severe dry rot, siding and window installations. Jord the Painter was very nice and luckily for me a perfectionist. He even color matched the color because we couldn’t find the old paint can. Overall SFW Construction is an A+ business to work with.

I have had a great experience so far with SFW. I called in and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and she then transferred me over to speak with Christian, who was also very enjoyable to talk to. I had a lot of questions regarding repairs to my home and he took the time to answer all of them for me and made sure I understood what was going to be needed to be done. He then promised to send me over an information packet in an email which I had in my inbox less than five minutes after getting off the phone with him. My husband and I are very much looking forward to working with them

We hired SFW to repair several old wooden window frames that had begun to leak and allow water to come inside the walls, cracking our interior walls. Alex and his crew were extremely professional and kept us updated on the work. They replaced the window frames, installed two new windows and repaired the aluminium siding. They even straightened out our front door while they were there! The most important thing: no more leaks.

SFW construction has redefined construction and I would HIGHLY recommend to have SFW construction to anyone! Everyone at SFW was extremely helpful and professional. From beginning to the end of the project SFW was there ensuring their integrity and hard work/labor. Project Manager, Christian Miller was the first SFW team member I spoke with, Christian helped me understand how SFW worked and the scheduling process to start my first home project. Christian was very detailed oriented by explaining how labor rates work and mark ups for materials purchased by SFW. In addition, Christian referred me to their website for some special offers to purchase to help keep cost affordable – saving me some money in the end and I mean who doesn’t love specials! SFW hires impeccable employees, displayed by Christian and even down to the scheduling Coordinator, Jessie Quick. Jessie helped me schedule when the SFW Team that would be at my house to start the project. Jessie was always on top of it, keeping me updated to when they had a crew available to start the project. Team Lead Supervisor, Landon Merrill led his crew with greatness and carefulness. Landon ensured me every step of the way, stayed on top of the project, and was respectful to my financial budget. I was in such great hands with Landon that it made the project smooth. Landon and his crew demolished my bathroom, cleared away all dry rot, and rebuilt the entire bathroom to my personal liking. Also, Customer Experience Manger, Jeff Harrington met any concerns and expectations I had with outstanding positivity and satisfaction. Jeff and Landon wrapped up the project great. Lastly, I would like to thank Sr. Billing Specialist, Carrie Meyers working closely with me. Carrie ensured the project stayed within budget and worked with me on invoices and what was owed. Carrie was professional and answer any of my questions. Thank you to everyone at SFW – y’all were amazing.

A house-painting estimator had given me a heads-up that a corner board of my siding appeared to be rotten and should probably be replaced before they painted my house. This posed a challenge, because the refrigerant and electrical lines of my ductless heat pump system both ran right over this corner board, with not a lot of room to spare. So, the HVAC company that installed the heat pump was going to need to send out their worker to loosen or take down these lines, at the same time that the SFW workers came to fix the corner board. My SFW project manager helped me figure out how to do this: Find out which company was scheduled farther out ahead, and schedule with them; then ask for the exact same date with the other company. The HVAC company was scheduled out farther ahead, so SFW Construction scheduled their team to come on the same day that I had booked with the other company. As it turned out, both of the men that SFW sent to work on my project were very highly experienced. Once they began removing the corner board, I was in for a surprise: The corner board was far more seriously rotted than it had originally appeared to be, and there was some framing damage below it as well. (See attached photos; framing damage was at bottom corner of cantilevered section of house.) The workers also noticed that adjacent siding had been applied without a vapor barrier below it, and that there appeared to be possible moisture damage around a nearby window. They asked my permission to remove more adjacent siding so they could remediate these issues, and I agreed. Fortunately, the area around the window did not yet have rot, so they applied an anti-fungal coating and put in appropriate moisture barriers. They repaired the rotted framing ends by cutting away the rotted parts and putting in new wood. Some other reviewers have complained about the fact that SFW does everything on a time and materials basis, rather than giving the customer an exact quote ahead of time of how much the job will cost. Well, they specialize in repairing house rot, and with that kind of job, it is often literally impossible to see how much repair work will need to be done until the damaged area has been torn apart. That was certainly the case with this job. (Ten years ago I hired another company to fix siding rot elsewhere on my house ... when I was getting bids for that job, more than once, I had someone look at the job, tell me they would send me a bid, and then accidentally-on-purpose forget to send the bid--probably because they did not want the risk of promising a certain price and then having the job be more extensive than expected.) This repair job did cost more than I expected it to, but I felt they knew what they were doing and did high-quality work.

I called in because I had dry rot damage on my home. Christian took the time to explain the repair process and sent me helpful links from both YouTube and the sfw website so i could literally see what would take place. I'm excited to be working with a company that cares enough to take the time to help me understand the process. They made it clear my business was important to them

After a lot of research we were referred SFW as a contractor who could help us through the next phase of our home remodel. We we’re acquiring an early 1930’s home that had a lot of potential red flags. After our original consult with Christian. He sent Jeff Harrington make a site visit to get the ball rolling. Jeff was such a solid guy, straight forward, honest & never once tired to upsell us into anything that’s wasn’t actually needed. He pointed out things that our paid home inspectors didn’t catch, or maybe didn’t even know to look for. Improperly installed windows draining into the walls & black mold in the basement quickly became a higher priority than what we had originally call them our for (Dry Rot & Potential Foundation Damage). A thousand thanks to the team at SFW. We were saved from what could have been a never ending heacahe.

This team is excellent! From the communications from the staff to the hard working professionals on the crew i have to say "Bravo!" Very fast respond rate to get my bid done and then they were out here working on my house before i knew it! Would highly recommend!

The whole project was handled very well. It was handled as part of an insurance claim and the entire team including Brian did an excellent job ensuring all the paperwork and documentation was done to maximize the benefit from insurance. Highly impressed and would hire again.

Beware if you hire them on hourly rates. Work happens very slowly and every possible charge is added. Took them almost 22 hours to remove trims around a window, pull the window, put Tyvek, put it back and redo the trims. Things like bringing a huge trailer to haul very little construction debris, charging multiple hours to drive them to the site and taking back, bring material separately etc. There is also a 20% markup on materials. Cost quickly adds up. Suggest you do your homework and get bids from few others before deciding to hire. I did not and trusted the ratings and ended up paying way more than what I should have.

I recently moved in to a home in Yamhill County. It has 4 dormers on the roof. SFW Construction inspected my entire exterior. They took the time to explain my siding system to me. They explained to me I have some areas that need attention on my south facing wall. I appreciated the honest inspection without a high pressure sales tactic. I plan on using them for future work.

Workers showed late. Billable hours were inflated far beyond what was actually done. Workers were passing time. Whatever was done, was done low quality. Plywood was not fit properly, they nailed it bowing. Manager hit his own crew member with a brick while demolishing wall. Charges i wasn't expecting were added. I complained, but manager was unresponsive, talked back, then refused to discuss charges, but demanded payment anyway. Contract they gave me could not be brought up to CCB for arbitration, but has penalty if not paid immediately

SFW performed excellent work. Jeff McMcammon, the on-site supervisor was professional, helpful, and really cared about done my quality work. We would definitively hire SFW and Jeff again for future work! Jon G.

The finished job was top notch and am very pleased with the results. Had the job done by the hour rather than a set price, the work went a pace that slower than I would have liked. If you have the job done by the hour be prepared to pay on the top end of the cost line.

After much research on the web, including Angie’s List and the Oregon CCB, I hired SFW Construction in June 2018 to repair dry rot and other issues on the exterior of my Wilsonville home. I was not disappointed in their work. The SFW crew (Tracy, Don, Tom, Angel, and Matt) were the best: knowledgeable, skilled, hardworking, and just darn nice guys! Every interaction and communication with SFW was a pleasure, including their office staff. In the SFW office, I want to single out Natasha, SaDee, and Jeff as being especially helpful and focused on customer service. It doesn’t get any better than this. I’m so lucky I hired SFW Construction.

My wife and I initially had thought we would just be removing our vinyl siding and repairing the wood siding underneath on our 1910 home, but we had a lot of problems revealed as each layer came down. We ended up adding studs, replacing the structural sheathing, adding new insulation, jacking the enclosed rear porch to replace support posts, tearing down and building a new front porch, replacing the windows and exterior doors, putting on all new siding, and some other associated work. I was initially hesitant about the time and materials contracts they utilize, but for an open-ended project like ours it made sense as we didn't have exact plans to go off of. That makes it difficult to budget and may not be for everyone, but it worked out fine for us. Landon was our project supervisor and he was absolutely amazing to work with. Always prompt, communicative, and responsive, and the crew were all respectful and professional. I am especially impressed with the attention to detail. We bought an old house for the character and I'm a stickler for the little stuff, and Landon was very patient and helpful and was able to turn my vision into reality with basically nothing to go off other than a little sketch and a few downloaded pictures and my descriptions of what I was looking to do and always went over all of our options to make sure we were happy with what they were going to do for us. We may have other projects in the future like a bathroom remodel and a major addition (we will have actual plans drawn up for that) and SFW will be the first ones we will be calling. Hopefully Landon is still with them at that point because he helped take the stress out of the whole process. The office was great too and always easy to get in touch with and sent daily updates and regular itemized invoices that we were able to easily pay online. SFW uses a separate crew for painting and our only negative is that we never heard back from them about scheduling a quote and we tried to request it several times and we've since moved on. If you are okay with the time and materials contracts, then I highly recommend them. We've had many compliments from other professionals about how impressed they are with the work. Work was completed about 6 months ago and we are still very happy with it.

I have a second story deck with a storage shed under it. The roof of the shed leaked and it was the general consensus of several builders that it couldn't be fixed correctly without rebuilding the deck. I asked SFW Construction to build it as if they were building it on their own home. The final product was a shed with a PVC roof that doesn't leak, a new sliding glass door and window, and a beautiful deck with cedar railing and composite floor, stairs, and trim. Only time will tell, but hopefully it will look beautiful for many, many years. They had from 2 to 4 men working about 3 weeks on the project. This meant it was a much more expensive project than what I was expecting. That being said, they kept me informed about the costs, and I hope that in the long run it will be worth the expense. There were some minor problems with finish, and when I notified them they came right back and fixed the issues.

No one but SFW took the time to really diagnose my issue. It started off as possible dry rot (the way my house is designed it was tough to tell until we got the floors torn up). Dale Brown came out as head supervisor and expalined the project (from what we could tell). As with all home remodels they never can go as anticipated until you relaly tear things apart. This was my story - Dry rot actually turned out to be a bad foundation (foundation didnt exist). Dale was thourough with explaiining what needed to happen next, explained cost, running thorught the game plan every day ast the start of the project. I got an even better remodel than I initially intended, along with updated electrical and plumbing. Due to foundation needing to be laod, there was a pause in the project and a new supervisor, Brooks joined in. He was very thourough in explaining the daily events, very personable (both crews) and even with the few snags we hit (again not fault of SFW, more fault of my house) we made it through, with good follow up and communication with custoemr service manager Jeff! This team is great and I will hire again for future projects - as this team well knows, my house is in need of some TLC and this crew can provide it! Thanks SFW for all the communication and professionalism you have provided.

SFW Construction was great to work with. The communication was very responsive and timely. I knew where I was at on the schedule. They were prompt and prepared when they arrived. On the day of the job I was given a complete best case to worse case scenario because they could not determine the extent of the damage until they removed the trim and examined the corbels. That helped me prepare and understand the work about to be performed. I received a call later to tell me everything behind the trim looked good. They gave me two carefully and clearly explained options from either repairing the corbels or replacing them to avoid any future rot problems which was caused by the original builder's lack of quality. I really appreciated how professional SFW was about every aspect of the job. It was about a day and a half job and when they were finished, everything was cleaned up and looked great. I didn't go with their painter only because I was going to use the company that originally painted my house. If I didn't have someone for the paint job, I would have hired them for that as well. All communication with their office staff to the supervisor on the job were outstanding. I will definitely hire and refer them.

Amazing crew! Very competent, we were taken with their professionalism and attention to detail. Very satisfied. They looked beyond the project and gave us peace of mind as they addressed the underlying cause.

The final result is great. You can barely see where the wall was patched. The dry rot portion of the floor was cut out and replaced with new subflooring, then new flooring above that. Molding that was damaged by a different contractor were sanded flat and repainted and looks brand new. SFW was a great decision, though spendy.
