Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for dry rot repair. I have a rental with a separate garage and one side of it had dry rot caused by a neighbor's retaining wall. Bryan came out and gave me an estimate. He suggested asking the neighbor to help with the bill but I didn't feel like I could ask her plus, I am handicapped and would never be able to make it up the steps to her door. Bryan offered to talk to her, which he did. | |The day they were supposed to do the job my renter notified me no one had showed up. I called SFW and they had something else come up but no one notified me of the change in plans. That is my one complaint with this company. They set up for the next week and everyone showed up as planned. The guys who work there are all the most courteous men I have worked with. After the job was completed I was sent an email invoice but it was for less than I expected. I called their office to ask if that was the total bill. Tanya said it was just for the second days work and somehow my invoice had been misplaced so it hadn't been sent to me yet. She got it together but they forgot to give me credit for the coupon I had purchased. She finally got the correct bill together but I'm glad I remembered I had purchased that coupon. The company was fine to work with. My only real complaint is them not showing up when expected because that was an inconvenience for my renter.

Description of Work: I must say this was the worst experience that I have ever had hiring a contractor. I had a leaky window and thought the job would be pretty straight forward. I paid an hourly rate for two experienced contractors but got two very inexperienced workers. I don't think either one had ever done this before. If I hadn't been paying them hourly it might have been comical but as it was it was just stressful. They weren't prepared with what I would have thought were the most basic of materials, a half sheet of plywood. So I paid them to drive to the lumber yard and of course for the materials. What should have been a few hours turned into an all day and then some job. I literally had to turn on Christmas lights so they could finish the job, they hadn't even come with any form of lighting. Speaking of finishing the job, the nails have not been set, the caulking is hit and miss and they didn't even caulk the top of the window at all. They smeared caulk all over my curtains which I asked to take down but was assured I could just leave them in place. They tracked debris from the window sill to the front door and back again, most other contractors I've hired have put down either drop cloths or paper but they didn't do either and stood in my window sills with their tennis shoes on. When I asked what was taking so long (as dinner time had come and gone) I was told that the metal sheeting that needed to go behind each seam of the siding was normally pre-cut but this time it wasn't! Just one more way they were ill prepared for the job. FINALLY,they left and I looked out the window and they had left their trailer in my driveway blocking half of my garage! This was Friday night and it was finally removed on Saturday night. When it was all said and done they offered me a discount of $150.00 but first I would have to sign a document stating I would never say anything about SFW that might paint them in a bad light. Needless to say I paid the bill in full.

Description of Work: Although they were unable to do the work I was looking for, they were very responsive and offered a refund of the money without even asking. Very focused on the customer. I would contact them about future work if I need services they provide.

Description of Work: The job turned into a much larger one than I anticipated, however, it would not have been the quality end result that it is without their good advice on what the project really should be. They were all professional, friendly and good to work with. They even worked with me on making the payments. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: 3-day job - Repaired drywall and window trim on house - found dry rot so had to replace some siding. Very nice to work with.

Description of Work: Redid siding on chimney

Description of Work: Removed siding where leak was suspected. Located leak. Removed framing around the attic fan exposing the leak. Removed the black paper that had been in place behind he siding probably since 1979 when the house was built. Replaced the black paper with Tyvec insulating paper; replaced the siding. Approx. 50' of siding had to be replaced. Re-framed the attic fan eliminating angle cuts. Coated the edges of the siding before replacement. Although the area will need to be repainted to match the house - it looks good.

Description of Work: I think SFW did a thorough job. The rep for the company was very professional. I bought a Angie's List special where I prepaid for some shingle siding repair. I wish I had asked for an estimate of the job prior because my prepaid amount covered only a fraction of the overall cost. The shingle siding had to be replaced regardless but I would have been prepared for the sticker shock.
