DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: Unless the owner/manager, Will Mann, resigns or quits DO NOT HIRE this company! I hired Radiant Pro to install a radiant floor heating system in my craftsman home, (first floor only), because they were, at the time, the most affordable and appeared to know their business. The technicians who actually did the work were competent, thorough and responsive to my needs and the job was completed more or less within my budget. But after the first winter having had the opportunity to test and measure the system, I called Radiant Pro to come back to investigate some problems I had encountered and to make some modifications to the system. I might have called them a dozen times and written several emails in my attempt to set up a meeting but to no avail it seemed! Finally, I get a response from Mr. Mann who agrees to come out to the house. He does and we go over my complaints, observations and my request for a modification. We come to an agreement on the follow up work and the specific changes to the system which I intend to have completed by summer's end. Then after some time I receive and email from Mr. Mann summarizing the work I had requested but it wasn't what we had agreed upon in our face to face!! After that all attempts to contact Mr. Mann failed. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM OR ANYONE IN HIS COMPANY AGAIN!!

I highly advise you not to hire this company. The employees did reasonably good work but the company owner, Will Mann was one of the most rude, frustrating and dishonest contractors I've ever worked with and I've worked with many including at least ten on my lastest house renovation project. My wife and I bought a property in May of 2012 and decided to turn the garage into a separate apartment. I acted as general contractor on the project and while designing it, we realized that radiant floor heating would be a good option for us, since we had to pur in a new concrete floor. I had three contractors come out and give radiant floor bids and wasn't very impressed with any of them. Radiant Pro seemed to be the lesser of three evils as they were the cheapest option and the other two had gotten poor reviews on Angie's list. We went with Radiant Pro, signed a contract and everything initially went smoothly. Will has two employees (whom I met) Marcos and Ben and both seemed competent and hardworking throughout the project. They first laid the PEX tubing and then we had a cement floor poured over it. The trouble started after this first step. Once our concrete was poured, I began to frame the new apartment and needed information from Will concerning the location of his tubing, pumps, etc. I also needed to know what kind of hot water heater he planned to install for us since we had contracted Radiant Pro to buy and install an "Energy star" hot water heater. Our plumbers were also asking me daily what Radiant Pro needed as far as supply lines, etc. I called Will. No response. I called him again. Nothing. I sent him emails asking him my questions. No response. I spent ten days in early July 2012 calling and emailing him every day to get a hold of him. Nothing. I had to make decisions on my own about framing and plumbing where I needed crucial information from him. Finally, exasperated, I sent him an email saying his actions were going to determine my review of his company on Angie's List and I was growing increasingly displeased and he finally returned my email. He answered a couple of questions and then wrote the following about our hot water heater (exact quote from his email) "Just talked with our supplier, the energy star program has made a change and raised their efficiency threshold. We can still supply the AO Smith unit we originally quoted but we cannot supply an energy star rated model. Home depot is selling least expensive unit right around $650 which is right about what our cost would be at our suppliers. Not a problem if you or your plumber supply the unit. Please call with questions" 2 months prior, he had originally quoted me an energystar rated hot water heater for $550 and now, months later, was saying (right before I needed him to install the hotwater heater) that he couldn't do it since energy star had raised their efficency threshold. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for him) I know my hot water heaters well and knew that there had been no change to the energy star program (for hot water heaters) since 2009. My guess was that he left it until the last minute to figure out which hot water he was going to get for me, when he saw the energy star model was more expensive than he had originally quoted, he decided to lie to me rather than lose the $100 (price differential between regular hot water heater and energy star one). Can you immagine? I'm working sixty hour weeks on our building project, managing 10 or so contractors and it takes me ten days to get a hold of our radiant guy for a little information. When I finally get a hold of him and tell him how displeased I am that he was MIA, he tries to get out of paying for the hot water heater he had quoted me by lying to me. All for a measley $100. Will continuously made my life more difficult.. When I confronted him about his lie, he comped me $60 a small sum compared to the extra stress of having to at the last minute go out and buy a hot water heater myself while doing a million other tasks. Finally, his employees Ben and Marcos finish my job and they did good work. They finished the radiant floor system (we have yet to try it out though) and installed the hot water heater and ran the gas lines. My final experience with WIll came just this past week. I was looking for him to send me a reciept and sign a rebate form so I could get a rebate for the energy star hot water heater. Again I tried in vain to contact him repeatedly for two minutes of his time. Nothing. Other contractors had thought to remind me and help me fill out my rebate forms themselves. Not Will. I had to think to fill out the form and then hound him for another TEN days of daily phone calls and emails to get him to respond ot me. Still nothing. Finally, I sent him an email saying I would take him to small claims court and sue him for the invoice as well as damages. As usual, threatening him was the only way to get him to respond. In closing, I worked with 10 plus subcontractos on my project and will give all of them positive reviews on Angie's list except for Radiant Pro. I understand running a business is hard and people are busy but this guy was so above and beyond dishonest and difficult to work with that I feel it is my duty to try to warn others to steer clear from him.

It ended up a huge fight. They were not timely. The workers were all excellent, but the guy that I dealt with at the office, Tim, lied to me and continually put me on the back-burner. When they came out first, they said they needed half down. My wife had a hearing aid and didn't understand and wrote out the whole bill. They felt like they didn't need to do things in a timely fashion because they already had a lot of money. They had other jobs to do. When we started the project, they said they could get the parts easy. It didn't happen. I got ahold of Tim and he said he couldn't find the part so they were having it custom-made. I measured it for them, weeks went by, we waited, and it didn't happen. I started pushing a little harder and he sent a man out with a part that was nowhere even close to being the right size. The technician wouldn't put it in; he said it wouldn't work. I called another man I was working with who had the part in stock. I let them know about the part, weeks went by, and I called back again. Tim told me that they were "working on it." I called the other man who said he hadn't heard from Tim, so I had been lied to. I called Tim, who said he had talked to the man and had been told they didn't have the part, by his brother. I called my friend once again, who said he didn't have a brother. That made two lies. I finally went off and told him what I thought about his business. The technician did a nice job, but Tim wasn't interested in doing my job because it had already been payed for. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody for anything.
Description of Work: They connected my furnace and did the work putting the radiant heat in.
