Clean, dry, delivered just where we told them. Very little detritus. It was delivered for the cost below.

Found Grimm's on Angie's list, they were not offering a special at the time but I decided to go with them anyway, they had awesome reviews on this site as well as others. I ordered 1 unit of dark Hemlock Mulch to be delivered on a Saturday, my appointment schedule was 12:00-2:00, they arrived around 1:15 pm. We talked, I told them where I wanted the mulch blown (I had four areas), they were very professional and through, I watch them out of curiosity, they did not seem concerned, we actually talked and they told me about the process. When they were almost done they told me I had an area they might not make, but they would try to make it work. Indeed they did, went above and beyond the call of duty. They cleaned up afterwards, even went next door to blow the remnants that landed in my neighbor's yard. I could not be happier with the service, I thank Cody and Jody (I may have the names wrong, please forgive me). I would recommend this company not only for their product (so far so good, I did think the mulch would be darker, but it looks fine), the great customer service, genuine concern and professionalism.

We ordered 8 yards of blended soil from Grimm's Fuel and had serious problems with what should have been a very simple transaction. Foremost was their inability to accurately measure and?deliver 8 yards of soil. We had the driver dump the load into 2 piles. Immediately, we were very concerned that the total amount delivered was no where near 8 yards. I used to own a landscape design company, so am familiar with landscape materials like this. The driver assured us that our total delivery was 8 yards and even pointed out which of the two piles was "larger". So, we called Grimm's and were told by their office personnel to text a picture of our piles, with a wheelbarrow next to it, to a cell phone number they gave us. ?OK, so we did - I put a standard-sized wheelbarrow next to the "larger" pile and texted it to the number and had the following text exchange: Me: "How many yards is this you just delivered?" Grimm's: "The driver said he split your load between 2 piles?" Me: "Yes. How many yards is this pile?" Grimm's: "Between 3-4. When we split loads it's not exactly even" Me: "That's not the issue... both piles are about the same size and can't possibly be a total of 8 yards." Me: "So are your yards not 3x3x3 feet? Grimm's: "That looks about right. If you want to give me the dimensions of your boxes I can make sure you ordered the right amount. Fill your boxes and let us know if your short" This went back and forth a bit more, but I was clear that my issue was that we ordered 8 yards and didn't get nearly that amount. Grimm's kept focusing on how much we needed for our raised bed boxes (and I had more uses for the soil than that), and NOT confirming that they delivered the correct amount of 8 yards. So, the next day, I CAREFULLY MEASURED the pile that I had sent in my text using a Medium Lowe's moving box (I put the box in my wheelbarrow and filled it level to the top of the box?and then dumped it where I needed it). ?Remember Grimm's said this pile was "3-4 yards"? TURNS OUT IT WAS ONLY 1.44 YARDS. ?Here's my math: 1 Medium Lowe's Moving Box (dimensions are 18x18x16 inches) = 5,184 cubic inches 1 cubic yard (27 cubic feet and 1 cubic foot is 1,728 cubic inches) = 46,656 cubic inches I filled the Medium Lowe's Moving box just under 13 times, but rounding up to an even 13 = 67,392 cubic inches OR 1.44 cubic yards. Based upon this and then adding it to?the other "smaller" pile, we likely were delivered UNDER 3 yards total when we?ordered 8 yards! After more discussions with Grimm's they finally agreed to, and I quote, "give" us more. They delivered another pile 2 days later. While I didn't measure this second delivery, I think it was around 3 yards, so we STILL ended up paying for 8 yards and getting around 6. The reason I went through all of this is that we rely on and trust companies like Grimm's to accurately measure and deliver bulk materials such as top soil and bark mulch. Grimm's clearly failed to do that and then made it worse by?continuing to mis-represent their measurements. In the end, we dealt with lots of aggravation, rude staff, clear mis-representation of standard bulk materials measurements... and we paid for 8 yards and still only?got 6. Huge FAIL. ?Homeowner's beware!

The two-man team was right on time with their delivery window. We walked the site, I showed them where to place the barkdust and set them loose. They did a wonderful job!

They did a good job. Will use them again.

From start to finish, working with Grimms was a very pleasant experience. Pricing was listed on your web page and was very straight forward. There were no surprises. The woman at the office in Tualitin, I think her name was Heather, was very helpful, and gave us some great suggestions for how much material to buy. The three guys that delivered the mulch and bark dust came on time. They had a great attitude and were a pleasure to work with. They were very careful how and where they blew the mulch and bark dust. I was pleasantly surprised that they spent time carefully using leaf blowers and a garden hose to clean up the excess; I wasn't expecting that. My wife and I are so pleased with Grimms, that they have earned our loyalty and look forward to working with them again in the future. They offer excellent value, the small extra cost for the blowing service definitely beats hauling 18+ yards of material by hand!

Price was considerably cheaper and included delivery. They were punctual and cordial.

Great service and quality of oak. Wood was dry making it a wonderful family Christmas Eve by roaring fire.

Very easy phone call to discuss volume required and quick delivery of cedar chips. We were out when the delivery arrived, but they were sure not to block the garage entrance.

I am on their and quot;always fulland quot; fill service. I have never had any issues with this service, they do a good job of monitoring my fuel usage, so my tank has never run dry. I have also found them to be very responsive to and quot;No Heatand quot; situations, they also provide maintenance on my old oil furnance.

We regularly pick up soil from Grimm's. The people are very nice and the product is excellent - we get their premium top soil. I have no clue how the price compares as I've never looked into any other providers; they are our closest provider.

Ordering was easy, and the soil was delivered as expected. The compost that was mixed in still had some pretty big sticks that weren't fully broken down yet, and some of the compost wasn't as mixed in as well as I would have liked, but it will work fine for filling my garden beds for this year. I would use them again.

This is about the fifth year I've been using Grimm - they do a great job.

They were excellent. They did a full inspection of the furnace. It's not old, but it's not new, and they gave us a really good assessment of it and what we might need to do in the future. And it was a fair price, so we really appreciated Grimm. They got right out here after they found out that we needed the service and their technician was awesome. He was able to talk layman's terms about the furnace with my husband. They were good.

I had used them several times. I think I used them 5 times over the last 7 years or something. They usually have one of the better prices and I like the mulch that they have. We just call and order it. I think it always seemed like too much on the price.

That went well. They delivered everything on time.

I heard the blowers turn off. I came back outside and they had put all the mulch at the top of my hill and under shrubs that I never mentioned and on top of kids' toys. I was shocked. I said and quot; you didn't put any of it at the bottom and you sprayed in places I NEVER asked forand quot;.They said and quot; We only put a FEW yards under there ( A unit is only 7 yards and they put 1/3 of it where I had not specified.) and you never had enough , anyways.and quot; IF they had told me I didn't have enough I would have asked for it to be ALL placed atthe bottom of the hill. They told me they'd make me a and quot;dealand quot; and charge me for 1 and 1/2units for another 2 units. This is another $495 I was not planning on spending. They came out the following week and put another 2 units in the back. The person who came out this time did a nice job.I called and asked to speak to the manager about what had happened. Six days later I got a call back. They are not good communicators to say the least. I feel like I was strong armed into spending another $495 with them.

Since I called in May, we waited a good month for our appt. for the blower. They came within the two-hour window quoted to me over the phone earlier that day. The driver courteously checked to make sure we didn't need to get our cars out of the garage while the delivery truck used our driveway, and he introduced the two other men on his team. I showed them where to blow the mulch (onto a tarp in the backyard) and what plants to avoid burying or spraying. In the end, 99% of the mulch stayed on the tarp and the plants I cautioned them about were mussed a bit, but in one piece! That's excellent, since those blowers can decapitate delicate plants and make a huge mess if they're not careful. As I left the yard with the driver, he noticed some edging pulled up and stopped to fix it even though I said it wasn't a big deal. BTW, my rating scale: A = the best, B = above average, C = as good as anybody else, D = lousy, F = incompetent

The crew was on time and listened to all my requests. They even follow up with a blower to clean all the bushes and any stray bark. For $100.00 I had 6.5 yards of bark blown in one half hour as opposed to several days of hauling it by one wheelbarrow at a time. It is sooo worth the $100.00.

I estimated the square footage needed incorrectly and the Grimm workers worked around my mistake and covered the area better than in the past with other companies. I am very satisfied with the work and professionalism of the Grimm workers and will use them again.

We have bought mulch from them for years. they always put the pile right where we want it, divide it if needed. this time we were under a time constraint so we had it blown on. Wow, is that ever worth it. $100 extra per unit and you don't have to push a wheelbarrow all day. They put the mulch where we asked, we were skipping some parts. It looks great. They sweep up when they are done. It rained during the install, so some of our ground cover had mulch sticking to it. but sweeping it off is a lot easier than spreading the mulch.

I hired them based on price and am glad I did based on the quality of their service. They actually arrived 15 minutes before the 2 hour window the scheduler had quoted us. They got right to work and finished quickly. The bark was exactly where we wanted it and they thoroughly cleaned up walkways and driveway. We couldn't be happier. Plus thy were very flexible in the we had called to reschedule and they did so with a smile in their voice. Later in the evening before they were to arrive, we left a voicemail saying we wanted to change the type of bark we wanted. The handled the order change accurately and the truck arrived with what we wanted. The technician, Jonathon, was very pleasant and professional.

They were very responsive when I called for price and information and also provide auto-fill service at the same gallon price as on-demand fill. I signed up for their auto-fill service so I no longer need to worry about running out of oil or waiting to fill 400-500 gallons at once which is now very expensive by any oil company.
