Very well.

Previously I had obtained bark dust from a company called Bark Blowers, and I was very happy with their work but their prices are somewhat higher than Grimms. So, to save some money, this time I ordered bark dust from Grimms. Big mistake. I couldn't believe how sloppy the guys were. They put WAY too much bark dust in certain areas. They put bark dust in places where it wasn't supposed to me (per the directions I gave them when they first arrived). After they left there was bark dust all over a number of the exterior house walls and lattice work. Their attitude was 'get in and get out as fast as possible, with minimal communication.' I ended up spending over three hours after they left, cleaning up the mess they made. Never again.

Grimm's is such a great company with whom to work, whether we are calling for information and recommendations, taking our own yard debris and wood there to be recycled, or buying back barkdust or mulch for our yard. The office staff is excellent and very helpful. I was in the process of calling early on the morning of this expected delivery to inquire about the window of time when the truck arrived. The driver was very thoughtful, and suggested that we take the car out of the garage in case there was spill over in the driveway. He unloaded the mulch, and was gone in less than five minutes.

I called 2 weeks in advance to schedule a specific date and time, and they were very accomodating. They called me when they were 30 minutes away. They had a very long and large hose to reach the back yard. Everything looked great when they were done. It was a nice, black covering, looking like barkdust, but is going to be more healthy for the plants. They cleaned up afterwards very nice.

Very well overall, but the clean up was less than I would have expected. First, let me say their scheduler was very responsive. We had to reschedule twice because of weather and they were very flexible in meeting our schedule. They arrived promptly and worked hard. Coverage was consistent across the yard in spite of problems they were having with their equipment. Also, they used less than I ordered and were forthcoming in adjusting the price accordingly. They blew off the walks and lawn and hosed off the plants/house in the end. The one complaint I have is that they did not remove the mulch from the base of the plants and foliage, which took me a couple of hours after they left. Many trees and shrubs will rot if the soil line is higher than the crown of the trunk, so this is an important step. Also, the limbs on several trees/shrubs had been buried under mulch, so I had to dig these out and wash them off. I think they could have done a better job on clean up.

My experience with them was good, but they were a little more expensive than some smaller outfits. I've always had good experiences with them and they always give high quality bark dust.

They arrived on time, dumped the mulch (had a bit of a problem maneuvering under our overhead wires but did an admirable job with the dump bed fully up) and left. The driver got a wee bit grumpy about the 20 point turn but I can't really blame him! I spread the mulch myself as I have a lot of seedlings and small plants. The mulch itself is gorgeous and gives a boost to the nutrition and friability of the soil. My plants love it, it suppresses weeds and helps conserve water. I am a Master Gardener and I regularly recommend Grimms for mulch delivery.

They did a pretty good job blowing in mulch and cleaning it off exposed foliage. Some small plants were pretty buried; only a few did not come back this spring. They cleaned up concrete and hardscaping pretty well. I wanted mulch, not bark dust. The mulch had more bark in it than I wanted; the chunks were larger than I'd hoped.

The people at Grimms Fuel are very friendly and very professional. The job was scheduled 1 week in advance and performed right on time. It took a little over an hour to cover the area with the cedar chips. I had told them how I wanted it to be spread (a little thicker in the area I wanted to put a play structure for the kids) and they correctly followed my instructions.

Scheduler was friendly and accommodated a revision to the original delivery schedule. Delivery was made the day after scheduling. Delivery was on-time. Driver was courteous and professional.

Manuel and his partner arrived right on time at 8:00. I showed them the yard, both front and back and shared my concern about some of the more tender plants. They assured me that if the mulch was on the plants, they would get them all cleaned off and would leave everything in pristine shape. They got to work beginning in the back yard. Manuel managed the hose and worked the entire yard with great care. Not one plant was damaged. The yard in front and back looks fabulous after their professional application. They were true to their word...all plants were cleaned of any mulch as were all sidewalks and paths. The entire process took a little more than an hour because they had some trouble with the hose in doing the front yard. Manuel and his partner were fantastic, very responsible, responsive to my concerns and professional.

I was quite pleased with their work. They did exactly as I requested and cleaned up afterward with a garden hose and leaf blower. The cleanup was not as thorough as I would have liked, in spraying beds near the house, some of the windows and siding were also dusted with compost (which I did not notice until they had left), but in general, the job was done to my satisfaction.

Each time I called Grimm's, they were very friendly and helpful over the phone, helping me decide which product I needed. Their price and product both seemed to be the best from the several Portland area companies I checked out. And their service was excellent. Their Web- site was also more helpful than the other companies' sites. I will definitely use them again the next time I need mulch delivered.

Product was delivered and charge was as quoted. Delivery guy was pleasant and moved the tarp I had set up so that the mulch wouldn't spill over (due to power lines in the way). The only thing that wasn't so good about the experience was ordering. The gal that answered the phone was obviously stressed out. I wasn't familiar with all of the types of mulch and asked her if she could help me to choose. She said she would answer my questions, but basically she just gave me prices and names. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but she wasn't real helpful.

Company blew bark over 15' x 100' area covered with newspapers. We were killing grass without using herbicides. They took care not to dislocate the newspapers, blew an even layer and cleaned up the sidewalk. Great job.

This is the first time we have ordered firewood from Grimm's. We have had varying degrees of success in getting good wood, and so we were very pleased to get a great load of wood from Grimms. The delivery came as scheduled, and it is the nicest wood we have ever gotten. Hardly any debris left at all after we stacked it. We will order from them again!

The female telephone operators were very nice and helpful, since it was my first time ordering delivery of a cord of wood. She told me about the history of the business, that they have experience with providing firewood in Oregon, and that their wood is seasoned. However the owner of the company was a little harsh on the phone and I did not enjoy speaking with him when I had a question about delivery. He said his trucks were all full and my order would have to be in the next batch. His voice and manner was as dry as the wood we received to burn. However, it did not rain much on the day the wood was delivered so I was happy with Mother Nature, and Grimm's delivered good quality wood. The overall experience was good; they did their job.

I used them at my last house, and had no trouble using them again. They were on time, personable and listened to your concerns. They easily adjust. This was a difficult area requiring agility and expertise. They were careful not to allow any bark dust in the waterfall and ponds. Everything was great. Cleaned up afterwards. Always a pleasure to work with and informed me with some tips on maintaining my yard.

I have been hauling my yard debris to Grimm's for years, and picking up barkdust, etc. This was my first experience in getting a delivery. I was very pleased with the service.

The person I spoke with on the phone to get the price quote was friendly and helpful, the price was the lowest of the places that would deliver to our area, they delivered the soil on the next business day, the driver was courteous and came to the door to double check with me regarding the exact location I wanted the soil dumped, the soil quality was pretty good except for one crushed aluminum can.

The soil delivery was right on time, and driver was very courteous and delivered the soil exactly where I wanted it. The bark blowing was great. They were also right on time and cleaned up very well after themselves. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend and will use them again.

This company delivered compost to my home. It was dumped in the wrong area and partially on a flowerbed. They were not apologetic and rude when I called to discuss the situation.

GRIMM'S HAS GREAT PRODUCTS AT A GREAT PRICE. THEY HAVE A VARIETY OF LANDSCAPING PRODUCTS AND ALSO ALLOW YOU TO BRING YOUR YARD DEBRIS BACK TO THEIR SITE. THEY ARE MUCH CHEAPER THAN UTILIZING THE DUMP.

WE CALLED GRIMM'S FUEL CO. IN THE MORNING AND THEY DELIVERED OUR TOPSOIL THAT SAME DAY. WE HAD TO COMPLETELY ADD SOIL TO MY FLOWER BEDS BECAUSE WE HAD NOTHING BUT CLAY. THEY SATISFIED MY DESIRE TO HAVE FLOWERS PLANTED AND I HAD 'INSTA GARDENS'.

THEIR TOP SOIL WAS OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. WE WERE GONG TO USE ANOTHER CLOSER COMPANY, THEY HAD TOO MANY PIECES OF STICKS AND ROCKS IN THEIR SOIL. THEY WERE ABLE TO DELIVER WITHIN FAIRLY SHORT NOTICE WHICH WAS ANOTHER PLUS.
