Bill Dotzenrod and his crew were first rate through the whole process, from the original bid to the project completion. Bill really knows his work and was kind and thorough about answering my questions and addressing concerns. He also spoke to my neighbor several times about the project because it was happening right near the property line. The crew worked quickly, efficiently, and did a great job. They left the area looking much better than it had looked when they started, which was a pleasant surprise. My basement has been dry ever since this work was done so I count it as a huge success.
Description of Work: Bill Dotzenrod and his crew dug a trench for a lengthy drain pipe and attached several gutters to this pipe so that rainwater runs into the street and not into my basement.

Dotzenrod came in to excavate my daylight crawler so that I could add living space to my home. He and his team hand-dug and removed about 3 ten yard dumpsters of dirt. They were there every day, on time and extremely professional. The work was perfect when they were done and ready for concrete. Any problems that arose were rectified as soon as they came up. I would deifnately reccomend Bill and his company to anyone that needs waterproofing or hand excavation.
Description of Work: Hand dug and removed dirt from a 1600 sq ft ten foot tall crawler iin order to add living space.

The job was done perfectly - the dig was precise and to spec (and there were a lot of specs). They used a conveyor belt to lift the dirt through a window of the home -- which was good for efficiency, speed, and did not damage the window...I was impressed. I believe they sold or gave away the dirt on craigslist - so it was "recycled".
Description of Work: They did excavation work for 6 strip footings. Perhaps 60' of trench that was 18-24" wide and perhaps 6" deep on average. One of the footings was dug deeper -- perhaps 2' down. This was about 4-5 cubic truck yards of dirt....surprisingly.

Fantastic. One of the best contractors I have ever hired for anything. I did extensive research on contractors, including many listed on Angie's List, and it took me 2 months to decide to hire Bill. All that time I was deciding Bill was very patient and low key - no hard sell from him. He would just occasionally call me from time to time to see if I had made a decision. I decided to hire Bill because, of the many solutions I had heard from prospective contractors on how to fix my leaky basement, his solution made the most sense to me (no fancy tricks - no weird testimonials), an engineer friend agreed, and I really liked his demeanor. It was a good decision! Bill did his work quickly, and he always let me know what was happening. He was really easy to contact on the phone. He and his crew were on time and on schedule and left my yard super clean each day before they went home. The job took about 4 days. They installed a temporary fence to keep kids and pets safe. They ultimately left my yard cleaner than when they came! Bill even hauled away a pile of dirt in our yard that they didn't create - without my asking him and with no charge. About 2 weeks after the job was done I was at home and Bill came over unannounced to see how the job was holding up and noticed a little slump in the fill they had done (I hadn't noticed it). Bill told me he regularly goes and checks his work after it's done to see how it holds up. The next day when I came home from work the slump was fixed. The real test is that we've had a couple of big downpours of rain since the job was done and there is no more water in the basement. Bill guarantees his waterproofing for 15 years.
Description of Work: On one side of our house Bill excavated down to the bottom of our foundation wall (including removing vegetation), cleaned and waterproofed the wall, installed a protective drain sheet on the wall, installed a drain pipe and sump pump (including electrical), backfilled, hauled off excess soil, reinstalled 4 basement window wells, installed 2 flo-wells to drain water from downspouts and the pump and cleaned up.
