I don’t know that the value was of any benefit after shopping around. I liked the service provider and they were great to work with but I don’t know that I would buy the Big Deal value again. The price was middle of the road, but the value was outstanding. They are a great company and are very professional and knowledgeable. I just don’t think that the Big Deal was a very good price.
Description of Work: They came out and honored a Big Deal for new countertops.

I had a bid from Home Depot, Costco and Precision. I went to Crowleys on the recommendation of my friends. They beat the other prices by 40% +. They suggested choosing granite at Elemar. They did a great job of fabricating my granite, even suggesting a window sill for a place my designer was having trouble figuring out. It all looks great. The staff is knowledgable, friendly and efficient. They have some equipment to chop leftover stone in different ways than I had seen before. They also suggested making a bath counter out of my leftover stone and it cost less than $700 for a 6ft counter.

Given the expense involved in granite countertops and our desire to not over spend on this project (remodeling an 1970's condo in Lake Oswego), we researched many options (including Precision, Pental and several prefab operations) before we decided on Crowley's. Crowley's fabricated the granite we selected within a short time frame, installed it promptly as scheduled and in everything they did, it was first class! They were even able to schedule the plumber for us to come on the very next day after the granite counters were installed. Crowley's is a local, family owned business that works hard to meet the needs of their customers. We can't recommend them enough and encourage anyone that is considering installing new countertops to consult with Crowley's before you make a final decision. Their service was outstanding, their craftsmanship superior, and their price competitive. We would definitely use them again and we will recommend them at every opportunity! Thanks Vern, Nathan and Leta for making this the best part of the remodel!

We are extremely happy with the overall result. We had previously gutted the kitchen and had installed all new flooring, cabinets and appliances. I had used Crowleys to replace the countertops in my other home a few years ago, and it also turned out great. However, I was surprised that they were not only competitve in price, but actually one of the low bids when I got their estimate. I knew from the other work I had done that Crowleys cost a bit more , but the wait for the installation would be minimal and the job would be completed quickly and on time. Coupled with the fact that they included an eclipse SS undermount sink and faucet ( very high quality AND a free Angies list discount) they were very not only competitive but actually among the lowest in price. I went to their showroom and met with Leta to get the inital estimate. Based on that, I scheduled an appointment with Nathan to come out and template the countertops. Leta asked us to go by the granite suppliers and pick out our stone. There is a wide selection of course and when we did we actually picked out a lower cost stone. This lowered the cost much more than I expected and Leta immedately requoted the estimate. Nathan did the templating the morning of June 15, and that afternoon we met at Crowleys to lay out the counters on the individual slabs. The Installers showed up right on time the morning of June 25 and installed the counters that day. The result can be seen in the pictures I am attaching. Note the window and oven backsplash detail as an example of their attention to finer work. One note is that they will not install the actual plumbing hook ups ( sink faucet and drains) , so if you are not handy you will need to arrange for that to be done by a plumber. I am capable of most of that work so did it myself. We are looking forward to using the kitchen once we finally move in to our new retirement home in a few more weeks.

Great overall: punctual, cortious, professional, and took great care and time to not cause any incidental damage aroudn their work area while doing the work.
Description of Work: I looked at different granite installers in the area, and by far Crowley's came out ahead on the finished product they deliver. A couple of basic aspects that puts Crowley's apart from the others includes: + with undermount sinks, they actually secure the sinks with bolts vs. "glueing" the sink like many installers do, + they install re-inforcing metal rods within the granite in the vulnerable areas (around the sink), + they utilize proprietary technology to make any seams look almost invisible,+ they polish the corners and edges (top and bottom) to a very smooth finish, and finally+ you can get a hold of a human when you call them (unlike voice mail with many others) Highly recommend them.

The Crowley experience is professional and friendly, their expertise is unbelievable; we were without the use of our kitchen for only 2 days!!! I found the granite I wanted for the kitchen and bath and called Leta at Crowley's to begin the process. She was very helpful, told me exactly what I needed to do and really took over the process for me. She made sure she had the slabs of stone I wanted and she worked with me on dates. The kitchen sink I ordered took a few weeks to come in so our templating and install centered around receiving the sink.Nathan came to do the templates in the kitchen and two bathrooms...what an amazing process...he has a fabulous machine that allows him to measure exactly so he can lay out the stone perfectly. Later that same day, we went to Crowley's to see how the slab will appear in our rooms. Nathan is a perfectionist...he makes sure the flow of the stone continues through the cutting and placing of the slab and the seam must be exact. He is an incredible technician and really quite an artist. That same day, Crowley's called us because the slabs we had chosen were not even, they were actually wavy on the back side. Before we got there to look at the issue, Leta was on the phone trying to find two other slabs...I had chosen two that were very unusual and not available anywhere. Aaron and Andy showed us their concern and we told them we trusted whatever they choose to do to make the slabs work for us. We were not disappointed! We also had to choose another slab of marble for the master since the one I had chosen was too small. They sent me to Elmar to choose another slab. Elmar cut a slab that we loved in half and delivered it to Crowley's that afternoon.Templating occurred on Tuesday, 5 working days later, the plumbers came to take out the sinks and unhook the stove and John from Crowley's came to do the counter demolition. The next day was slab install day and what a fantastic day it was. John and Sam came to install the counters...Brian also joined them. The stones are fabulous and the seams cannot be seen at all. The flow of the granite is installed as if the stone naturally existed there. It took an extra day for the kitchen counter and back splashes to be installed...the stone was wavy and very hard to cut...looking at our kitchen you would never know there was an issue with the granite. I cannot say enough positive things about Crowley's. The entire experience was fabulous...from Angie on the front desk when you call in to Andy cutting the stone to John and Sam who worked for 2 full days expertly installing the stone. Leta, Nathan and Aaron are experts at making sure the project is completed in the most excellent manner possible.
Description of Work: Crowley's fabricated the granite for the kitchen counters, a full granite back splash on the kitchen wall, the granite in the guest bathroom and the marble for the vanity in the master bath. Excellent---Excellent----Excellent!!!

Crowleys installed granite counter tops in our kitchen. They are VERY, VERY knowledgable and good at what they do. I got the feeling they really wanted to do the job right and make the customer happy. There is a difference between Crowleys and other installers. I was invited to their shop to look at the actual layout of the project before the cutting is done to make possible suggestions. Nathan came to our house and did very precise measuring. They use a steel support in front of the sink to prevent sagging. The seams in the counters are great. You almost cannot see them. Brian and John showed up exactly when scheduled for the install. They worked all day with only one very short break. They were very good about cleaning up as they worked. The kitchen was as clean when they left as when they started. Great company to work with. Check them out. They is a difference with this company! I would highly recommend them.

I broke a corner off a marble counter top in my parent's condo, and Crowley Granite said they could repair it. They were on time and my parents say they can't even tell it was ever broken. The great thing is they seemed even more pleased that the "gentlemen were so NICE!" THANK YOU!

Aaron Crowley is the owner. They also recommended a plumber to put in a sink. Everything was just like clockwork. It was done really quickly. There was hardly any dust in my house even though I covered everything. They were different compared to the other contractors. They told me to cover my furniture and everything else, but I didn’t have to because they told me to take all the sheets off, fold them up and put them away. They were marvelous. We had to buy two slabs of granite and the cost that we paid to Crowley’s was about a couple of thousand dollars. We bought the tiles from another company which was on the list that Crowley’s gave us. We ended up paying about $6000 by the time we were done, but I am not sure. There were two guys who were wonderful; John was one of them. He took out the counters and installed it the next day. Brian was the supervisor who came with John for the installation. Aaron, the owner comes out initially to look at your kitchen and to give you the estimation. He is wonderful too. The whole company is wonderful. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: Crowley’s Granite Concepts installed countertops for me in my kitchen. They started their work on the 14th of September. They took out all my old countertops in my kitchen. Then they came out the next day to install the new countertops. A week before that, they came out to do the template, which is the pattern.

Overall it went pretty well. The guys that do the actual work are great. Very friendly, efficient and professional. Our kitchen layout is a little awkward and we had to use 2 slabs in one area. They were really patient with us when we came to the shop to do the layout to make sure where the 2 pieces met it wouldn't look odd. The only issue we had was with the woman who does the scheduling and billing. 1st problem was that we had specific days scheduled and she wanted to change it last minute (hard to do for those of us that work full time and already scheduled time off for this). Second problem was billing, after the job was finished and we were ready to pay the remaining balance, she said that she had not included our back splash in our quote and that we owed $500+ more. Owner Aaron was nice enough to take a percentage off of that, but it was unfortunate that it had to happen. Overall we are incredibly pleased with the results. We chose a brand new stone that they had never worked with before. Everyone was a little nervous but they did a fabulous job and the results were beautiful. Key learning, ask questions about your quote and get a line item breakdown of everything. We thought that the line item regarding fab and install included the back splash, especially since half the guys in the shop knew we were book-ending our back splash to match the patterns (because they helped us lay it out).
Description of Work: Crowley's demolished our old tile counter tops and installed new granite counter tops and back splash. They also enlarged our peninsula area so we could put bar stools on one side. They came out to template before they did the demo which is great. We were only without counter tops for 2 days.

The short story is: If you need granite/marble countertops Crowley?s is the best quality, service, and staff you can work with. If you run into an issue they will make you more than happy. We had a couple of quotes from general contractors that seemed high, so we came to Angie's List and found Crowley's. We set a time up for an estimate and Aaron came out promptly and on time. He gave us a good overview of why Crowley's was different and the 8 features that set them apart from the competition. We selected a place that had granite, Elemar, and found the granite we loved. We used the Angie?s List coupon and picked the bathroom countertops from scraps left over from other Crowley?s jobs, since they were scraps the cost of material was free! We switched a couple times before the job started but Leta and the other folks at Crowley?s couldn?t have been nicer about it. There was a slight mix-up in some quotes we got but Crowley?s took care of us and discounted the Dry Treat on the stone to try and make it right. That sort of customer service sold us on them. We struggled with our backsplash decision on tile, but Aaron suggested split granite backsplash that at the time was relatively new to them. They use the remaining material, to create a roughhewn stone backsplash. Once we saw a sample we were hooked. In working with Aaron we came up with some neat ideas for the backsplash, like outlet surrounds made of granite and a chair rail pieces made from granite. The backsplash was a new process to them at the time and took much longer and took more material than planned, now I think they have a better understanding of what it takes. However the estimate we had was what we paid, and they couldn?t have been nicer about the whole thing. Sam did almost all of the backsplash work and he is a great craftsman and a great guy. You always run a risk inviting people into your home, but let me say Crowley?s knows how to hire. Everyone I worked with was a delight to work with and very good at their job. The end result of Sam?s hard work was the most amazing backsplash I?ve ever seen. We had a new dishwasher after it was in and the guy said, ?This is the most amazing backsplash I?ve ever seen, and I?m in some pretty amazing kitchens day in and day out.? Sam knocked it out of the park. We did get the Dry Treat on all of our stone. That stuff is magic. If you don?t want to worry about your stone counters or backsplash, then get it! Water beads on rough stone! We accidently left coffee grounds on the counter over a weekend, water washed it off. Our kids brush their teeth and leave toothpaste on marble, with dry treat NO PROBLEM. Crowley?s was a great company to work with and you really cannot go wrong working with them. If you have a granite or stone related job in the Portland Area and you will get the best for your money and a great experience to boot.

Their estimate was accurate, the only variable being the final material choice. The installers arrived on the scheduled day; and the tear out and install work was completed over the course of two days. The plumber returned on the third day to install faucets. The quality of their craftsmanship is excellent. The counters are well-made and the installation, including one seam in the kitchen, was done meticulously. All of the craftsmen and installers that I encountered were professional and courteous. I would happily recommend Crowley’s, and as other reviewers have mentioned, being able to actually help arrange the counter template was a great feature.

Everything went fine. They did an excellent job. There was a little confusion on when the plumbers were supposed to come and the number of faucets that they had to install, but everything eventually worked out. We didn't have to pay extra for the additional visits that the plumber had to make. Crowley took care of that. In one of the bathrooms, when they ripped out our old counter tops, a small piece of the drywall also came out. So there was a small hole after the granite counter was installed. We had to pay extra for the repair of the hole. But they did a great job. I have no complaints at all.

Aaron came out to give us an estimate and sold us on his company. After selecting the granite we liked we went to Crowley's and worked with Nathan on laying how the granite would be cut. This was very helpful, as there were designs in the granite that we wanted in certain areas of the countertops. Sam came to the house and did the demo, removing all the old countertops and tile. Sam and a couple of other installers came back the next day and installed the countertops in the kitchen, pantry and bathroom. Every step of the way went smooth and we were very impressed with everyone we met from Crowley's. The cost may have been slightly higher than other companys but we felt it was worth the extra money. We will definitely use them as we continue updating our other bathrooms, etc.

They were amazing! They were always right on time and very pleasant and professional. They take great pride in their work and were much more particular about the little details than I was. 6 months after the install one of the seams had started to open up as a result of movement of the house, not workmanship. Even though the problem was not a result of their work, they came back and fixed it for free. They have been great to work with and I would definitely use them again!
Description of Work: They replaced our white tile kitchen counter tops with granite. One week before installation they came and took detailed measurements. The afternoon after the measurements we had the option of going to their site to see how they planned to lay out the templates onto the granite slabs & to make changes, if we wanted. One week later they arrived and performed the install in one day.

Our kitchen counter top was replaced with granite. Crowley's has a digital templating process that allows them to measure quickly and have the granite ready within a couple of days for installation. After the templates were made, we made decisions on how we wanted the pattern of granite to look in the kitchen. The installation went quickly and well with a minimum of issues. (actually only one- they forgot to drill holes for the sink faucet). They were quick to respond to the miss and took care of it immediately. After the kitchen project we took advantage of their "remnants" program that allows you to choose free granite from their remnants for future projects. We just did this in our master bath so another gorgeous granite project completed!
Description of Work: We needed to replace the horrible white tile in our kitchen and bathroom. We found some great granite and talked to several fabricators before we settled on Crowley's. They were by far the most professional and personable. They may not be the cheapest but they did great work and our projects came out really well.

It went very well. Aaron explained the process from start to finish and everything worked exactly as it was supposed to. The most important thing to us was to have minimal disruption and a beautiful outcome - we got both. The template was taken on a Monday and the work was done on the following Monday - Wednesday. Crowley's coordinated with the plumber so that all the work dovetailed perfectly. Everone who worked at our home was pleasant and professional, and cleaned up after themselves each day. We would definitely recommend Crowley's.

Crowley fabricated our Granite Island and countertop on the remodel of our 1974 kitchen in Rock Creek. They were recommended by our general contractor. Both my husband and I were very impressed with the job they performed. After the counter top templates were made in our kitchen, we were able to go out to the shop and look at the layout on the 2 slabs of granite. The folks at Crowley?s did a good job on the layout of the counter tops. My husband was able to pick his favorite features from the island slab to be highlighted. Installation was very smooth. I am especially impressed with the attention to detail where joints meet and where there are seams. The layout was so well thought out that you really have to look for it to find the seam. I would absolutely recommend Crowley?s to a friend.

We decided early on in our project we wanted excellent countertops. I found Crowley's on Angie's List and two separate cabinet makers also said to go with Crowley's. We did check others out though. My wife was very concerned about SEAMS as she has seen some really bad ones. When we went to Crowley's we got a tour and they showed us how they do seams... and showed us examples... !!! They were supportive through our search for the "just right" granite. They were both prompt and flexible with our needs. from qoutes to lay out they were superb. The lay out and use of the slabs was pure genius. The installation was done carefully and the finished countertops are excellent. Everyone at Crowley's was personable and professional. too bad there is not an A++ available. oh yeah and their price was better than anyone elses too... why go anywhere else??

We completely remodeled the kitchen, new everything. Once the new cabinets were installed, Crowley's come and measured for the granite countertop. We had selected the granite from El Mar. They delivered the granite to Crowley's who then laid out a preliminary cutout template on our granite according to our design suggestions for which parts of the granite we preferred, which could be cut out, etc. Crowley's then had us come to their shop to review their proposed template layout. We could move it around until we all agreed on the best configuration. It was then just a few days before they came and installed the granite. The end result was fabulous. We love it. The installers were very professional and skilled. On time and on budget. Willing to take the extras steps to produce a very high quality finished product. We'll definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Fabricated and installed new granite countertops.

Crowley Granite Concepts is a high quality, highly professional business managed with a personal touch. This company stands behind its promises and works hard to achieve customer satisfaction. We had an issue with the original granite slab selection, a concern we had highlighted in the original contract. When Crowley personnel could not resolve the problem after installation, they decided to pull the stone - which they did successfully without damaging our new custom European cabinets. They worked with us through the whole process again to our complete satisfaction. We would definitely use Crowley Granite Concepts again.
Description of Work: Installed kitchen countertops with island. Installed guest bathroom countertop.
