Description of Work: Roof re-deck and re-shingle. Ridge vent system ordered.

Description of Work: Columbia responded first to a request to stop leakages from five skylights by another contractor. Columbia responded very promptly to immediate needs, i.e. stop leakage, and give short term protection until permanent repair could be effected. The work done was done very professionally and quickly; responsiveness would be termed "A+". The cost of this work is included above, but the two work projects (see below) were bid separately. They then submitted, at our request, a bid to effect permanent repairs. While their bid was higher than others, our confidence in Columbia from the "Step 1" matter warranted (fully) our selection of them for this work. Given the current rainy season and the work backlog, this phase could not be scheduled for 2-3 weeks. Also, in this period, our original sales contact left the Company - on very short notice apparently. However, (1) the short term protection worked fully, with absolutely no issues despite the weather (wind/rain/etc)./ (2) Company kept us informed of both the account change and the scheduling - we knew with good confidence what to expect. As weather permitted Columbia met appointments as set and worked promptly. This was not a "quick fix" and the team sent worked patiently and professionally to deal with the issues. Work was completed to our satisfaction and fully cleaned-up, on the time line originally outlined. This was likely a small to mid-sized job given other work we know they do but we felt we received quality work and attention. As indicated, they are not the cheapest possible selection but we feel we received value in full. As well, we have confidence Columbia will stand behind this work.

Description of Work: Columbia installed new "torch down" roof on my office building about 12-13 years ago. Since then we have had them recoat the repair every 4-5 years. They just completed (2008) recoating and repair of weather caused damage. We had a minor leak and they were able to find where the leak was, repair it and fix other damage that would probably leak soon.

Description of Work: They offered a reasonable solution for fixing a small, but difficult, leak in the base flashing near the chimney, when other companies wanted to much more extensive re-roofing. Caulking, lead and flashing were used to fix the leak and no shingles on my metal shingle roof needed to be replaced.

Description of Work: Leak repair - 2 difficult leaks: one around a skylight and other around a rooftop balcony. Several roofers came and wanted to do bigger jobs than needed or didn't identify the location of the leak correctly. This company did not overstate what was needed and fixed both leaks on their first attempt promptly. Easy to work with. Not looking to rip you off and talk you into something more than you need.

Description of Work: I asked for a bid on roof repairs.

Description of Work: Nine downspouts replaced. In-roof gutter seams cleaned and sealed. This was a difficult job. Our roof is a custom metal roof with gutters in the roof (not attached or free standing). Original installation of downspouts done wrong by the original roofer 17 years ago. Top ends of two of the downspouts were 35 feet off the ground. House is on a fairly steep hillside; setting ladder was difficult. We had trouble getting anyone to even bid on this job. Some carpentry was required in connection with downspout installation. Company was cooperative and installed the wood pieces that we provided even though they did none of the actual preparation of the pieces. They could have refused to do this. This work was done on June 26-27, 2006. On June 26 the temperature was 100 degrees.
