CertaPro Painters® of SW Portland

3 day job took 1 week plus. Had no idea if they would show up to do work. Painters were sub-contact with little experience.

Unfortunately we experienced a number of issues with CertaPro, detailed feedback has been provided to the owners (Tim and Charles Fletcher ) to help them improve their quality and customer service although their responses to date indicate there is no interest in doing so. Challenges working with this company included: > A number of work items in the contract job scope were not completed and we had to send a detailed list of incomplete work items to the owners for the team to come back out and take a second attempt at completing the job > We requested the owners come on site to inspect the work performed and help address the quality issues with their team, the owners advised us they were too busy to do this > Window trim replacement carpentry work is very low quality with misaligned corners on the newly installed trim and nail holes were not filled leaving exposed nail heads and indentations in the trim > Low quality paint job on window trim with messy brush strokes visible and areas of the trim not painted where you could see base trim/wood through the paint. The scope of work included two coats of paint on window trim and it appears only one coat was applied based on the spotty coverage and the team painted trim in one day - directions on the paint used states each coat takes 24-48 hrs to dry before re-coating > One side of the house appears to be a different shade on top half and bottom half, we were advised this was due to the satin finish and it was a shadow being created by our fence. We have lived in the house 12 years and never had a shadow in the paint on this side of the house previously. Many of our neighbors have commented on the shade difference since having the house painted recently by CertaPro > Four different invoices were provided for the job with varying pricing/billing amounts I would advise anyone considering using CertaPro to think carefully before doing so and would NOT recommend them if you are looking for a quality job with good customer service

We’re not happy with their service. One person came and gave us an estimate and told us they would do certain things, but then he was no longer involved in it. I was out of the country most of the time when it was being done and my husband had to deal with them. They did not do a good job with the ceiling in the living room. I don't know if they did not use the proper primer because you can see the drywall. Then people would say they were coming and it was quite frustrating for my husband. They said they would come by 9 and then show up at 2 in the afternoon, and there would be half the people and they wouldn’t have the equipment. It was not a good experience. Their price was okay but we should have known better. They sent people who spoke no English. It was tough.

It went great. They were timely, listened to what we wanted.

Done in excellent time frame. Tim was excellent at assessing the house for quality work at reasonable price. Color specialist was excellent at looking at total picture, matching color with landscaping. Workers excellent at prep and cleanup.

Tim & Shelli exceeded my expectations. Very friendly, professional, on time ad patient w/us as we selected colors. I recommended them to a friend and she too was pleased. They are top notch!

from start to finish, i was extremely impressed. i first met with Tim, one of the greatest guys i have met in the service business for a very long time. he was patient, thorough, fair and very helpful with tips and suggestions on things that needed attention besides the painting, such as the wiring that was bad on some outside plugs. I had three other companies come bid the job and not one of them made me feel so comfortable, as did Tim from CertaPro. Hire Tim and his company, because they really are great and easy to work with, the painting was just great and looked beautiful, and it was done on time. Tim called me back so quickly if he did not answer his phone. I had called quite a few times on suggestions, colors etc. Speaking of colors, Tim offered and actually came to Shermin Williams paint store and met my mother and i to pick out colors, how cool was that. The cost of the painting was not the highest or the lowest. It was a extremely fair bid and how Tim was with me, just made it feel like the right choice. Thanks Tim and the whole crew at CertaPro.
