They were great. They were quick, did it within the estimate. They got to us right away. Compared to the guy who was quoting us on the in wall, plus plus on price. It has made a difference in the house.

They had to bring my delivery in three different trips. That was a nightmare because they told me because I got a different type of stove that they could cut the counter tops and put the new stove in, but they won't. I had to hire a handyman to come out. Then they had to deliver the microwave 3 different times. The first two times they were broken. I think the biggest thing is that they contract out their delivery.

They gave us misinformation and it became a big headache. They warned me that they were not going to be able to install a plastic piping. When they came out they would not touch it. It was upsetting because I did everything they told me to do. I had a plumber come out so I could be prepared for when they came. I like my appliances though. It was very hard to get a hold of them.

It was a headache! First, the installation schedule was much later than they said it would be in the store. The worse part was the company they used, Romanoff Renovations. My carpet was left full of loose areas. I informed the company that I was on a tight schedule and needed this done right because I had renters moving into the home shortly. They took over a week to get someone back in to fix it and I had to keep calling to make sure someone was coming. The field manager and workers I dealt with were short tempered over the phone when they felt I was upset. I remained professional as I pointed out the errors I was not happy with but was accused of being rude. One of the workers was asked by the lead worker on site if he knew how to do stairs and he said yes. The stairs were done improperly and needed to be fixed. The worker stapled the carpet through the padding in the middle of the stairs and created loose bulges. There were tripping hazards throughout my home. I had not noticed the issues with the carpet until after they left the first time because they spent more time there than expected and were in a hurry to leave. They removed some closet blocks from under the prior carpet and did not replace them under the new carpet but when I asked them to come back and remove the one block that was left under the new carpet they claimed they don't remove the blocks. The worker who put the block down told me he had tried to place the block back in it's original spot and it took him a few tries to get it right, so I know they remove blocks. Their suggestion was that I trim my closet doors down or their would be an additional charge for them to come back and remove the last block. My closet doors do not fit with that large block in place. I wanted to replace it with something smaller. Bottom line: I am not happy with service and I will never use them again!
Description of Work: Carpet installation. I cleared the home of all furniture and baseboard trim. All the installer had to do was remove old carpet and replace it with new carpet.

They were reasonable. They didn't do any work for us except selling things to us. I think they sub-contracted it to another company to do the installation work and that was part of what we paid to Home Depot. Their service was fine; it was just like buying anything in a store. There was nothing that stood out either negatively or positively. We told them what we wanted, they wrote it up and then they gave us what we wanted. They had the sub-contractor contact us to make arrangement to do the installation. They didn't go out of the way but they didn't do anything that was negative either. I think they were good in terms of price. I would use them again in future if needed.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen and bathrooms redone so we bought countertops and some other things from them.

Poorly. We placed an order originally and were told all was well. Then they tell us there is ''no such thing'' as a wood-grained fire-rated door. I went online and found otherwise, and that Home Depot carries Jeld-Wen, which is fire-rated wood grain. Then they were asking us for a completely separate installer, new measuring trips, etc. I threw up my hands and canceled. The customer service representative was not helpful, and not customer friendly.
Description of Work: I tried to order a flush door to accompany an order for a front door, and was told I would have to hire a completely different installer, with many associated costs. I felt like I was being ''nickeled and dimed'' and canceled the order.

Overall, I would not ask Home Depot to perform any type of installation.
Description of Work: Home Depot did an estimate for carpeting two rooms in the lower level. They wanted labor and cost of carpet all up front. After they took our money, they said they could not install the carpet because our floors contained asbestos, however they refused to refund our money for the carpet. The Customer service in Atlanta said there was nothing they could do.

THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW WINDOWS WAS DONE BY AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR WHO REALLY DID A GREAT JOB. BUT HOME DEPOT MEASURED A LARGE WINDOW INCORRECTLY AND THEN FORGOT TO ORDER A NEW WINDOW. THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF MY ACCOUNT DID NOT BOTHER TO RETURN MY REPEATED PHONE CALLS TO CLARIFY THE SITUATION. A WEEK AFTER THE UNFINISHED INSTALLATION, I RECEIVED A COLLECTION LETTER FROM HOME DEPOT FOR THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE THREATENING ME WITH A COLLECTION AGENCY. NOW, 2 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL ORDER WAS PLACED, WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE LARGE WINDOW TO BE INSTALLED. AGAIN, I HAVE TRIED TO REACH THE HOME DEPOT REPRESENTATIVE(S) IN CHARGE OF MY ACCOUNT, BUT HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM.

Dave the job Foreman very through and easy to work with. Did some extra repairs at no charge. Had my old roof off and new one on in 3 days. The whole crew seemed eager to please and hard workers. Paid a little more but the guarantee and perfection of work worth it. I know Home Depot will be around in the future to take care of any problems if any arise. Couldn't be more pleased.

I'm a reasonable person and it wouldn't bother me that much if the project got started a couple of weeks behind. However, taking more than four months to start is totally unacceptable. I was hoping to have everything completed by the end of summer before weather can play a factor as it had during the process. I kept getting the run-around from the Project Coordinator about delays to other projects and that my installation will start soon. HD took my deposit of $5400 for over 4 months and nothing was done. The first crew (sub-contractors) did a horrible job and had since been dismissed. HD brought in another guy on 2/13/2006 to fix all of the mistakes. As of 4/7/2006, HD still needs to fix some of the damages that the first crew caused. We're heading into our 9th month, and this is for a siding project. People have build houses in less time. I just wish I had more space to give you a more thorough timeline of events. The whole process is ridiculous and frustrating.
Description of Work: It's pretty much your basic removal of old siding and replacing with the new vinyl siding. Signed contract on 7/21/05. Promised about 8 weeks for project to begin but didn't start until 11/29/05. The salesperson and project coordinator said that the installation crew would NOT move on to other projects until one is finished. They also claimed that weather shouldn't t be a big factor either. Well, weather did play a role as my house, after tearing off the old siding, is being exposed to the wind and rain, and the contractors were working on other projects such as roofing another house, as they were working on mine. Rarely was there a full crew, sometimes leaving just one person without the proper tools and equipment. I m paying HD so that I don t have to deal with issues or hassles yet that s all I got. I have to call at least twice a week asking when. Sometimes, it even takes the Project Coordinator 2-3 days before she even calls me back.

THE HOME DEPOT SUBS INSTALLATION TO A COMPANY CALLED COVERALL. I WOULD NEVER BUY CARPET FROM HOME DEPOT AGAIN. THE INSTALL WAS TO TAKE 7 DAYS: IT TOOK A MONTH. THE WORK ORDERS WERE NEVER ACCURATE. IT TOOK 5 DAYS OF MY PERSONAL TIME, INCLUDING INSTALL APPOINTMENTS THAT WERE NOT KEPT WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE COST ME ONLY 2 DAYS. THE COVERALL MANAGER TRIED TO MAKE ME PAY MORE FOR THE INSTALL, BECAUSE HE HAD TO MAKE 3 TRIPS DUE TO HIS ERROR. I HAD THREE DIFFERENT INSTALLERS - 2 SPOKE LIMITED ENGLISH AND ONE REEKED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE. I WROTE A NOTE OF MY DREADFUL EXPERIENCE TO THE MANAGER OF THE HOME DEPOT AND IT'S BEEN A MONTH WITH NO RESPONSE FROM HIM.
