Someone was quick to get back to me and arrange to come to my house to take notes and measurements for a replacement walk way around the back of our house. He was polite and helpful. He gave me a lot of details about different ways the job could be done and suggested what he thought would work best. I was told I'd have an estimate within a few business days. Problem is, I never got an estimate and never heard from Alternative Concrete again. I realize it was during the busiest time of year for concrete workers, but I was disappointed and won't be calling them again.

Jake & his crew were great to work with and the quality of their work is exceptional. I would highly recommend Alternative Edge to anyone.

They do good work and it was well done. They were timely, had a courteous staff and are great people.

I really liked Jake and had a good feeling about him. He was prompt and spent a lot of time making sure he understood the job and that I understood what I wanted. I also contacted three other companies for bids (this job is a lot of money for us). The two reasons we did not use Alternative Edge Concrete was one: the bid was $1,000 higher than the other three and two: his was the only bid which did not lay out step by step what the job entailed. I informed Jake of why we didn't hire him, but I would be willing to include him on another project if his estimates provided more detail.

After initial contact, never heard from Jake. No promised email bid, no returned phone calls.

I contacted Jake at Alternative Edge due to the good reviews here. I was going to contact one or two other companies as well, but when he came by to talk to us, he and I were discussing the possibility of doing the curbing around the flower beds. I had not mentioned the curbing to my spouse, and he went inside to look at the website to see what it was and how it looked. He came outside and told me it was a must have. Since AE is one of only two companies in the area to do this (or at least that's what we were told) we opted to rely on the good reviews and commit. We were very happy with the finished product. I am especially happy with the design of the driveway, and how he took into consideration the existing walkway when lining up squares. We all found out that Washington County's permit department is a total pain to work with but Jake handled all the issues professionally. I am kind of "needy" when working with contractors on big $ projects, and like them to keep in touch with me regularly. I didn't hear from him daily, but he was most responsive whenever I called or emailed him. My neighbor commented on how courteous and professional he and his crew were. Also, another neighbor down the street told me when he had his driveway done, the contractor did not allow in the bid for the asphalt apron in the street to be repaired, and to his surprise it was an additional $600.00. I asked Jake and he said the amount was built-in to his bid; I liked the non-surprise element of that. The people he hired to do that work were very courteous and efficient, as well. Several people have walked by and asked about the curbing, and all comments are positive. I have referred AE to them, and would do so to anyone.

(It took an email and 2 phones calls to get someone to schedule an appointment for a quote. The appointment was changed 3 times (including the day of). Jake came out and was very pleasant and while I had some ideas, he did not offer any others. He told me it might be a few days for a quote (this was a Thursday at noon) and I gave him until the following Tuesday and still had not heard. I emailed again and he apologized for being busy and would get it to me. Still nothing, I had to email again and got another apology and then an email saying "here is the quote" but there was nothing attached. I emailed back twice asking for the attachment and got no response. I emailed one last time asking if he intended to quote my job and still have not heard (over 2 weeks). I guess he was just not interested in this job (2 pathways, extending the existing porch, new steps and if the price was right, a new driveway too). Very unfortunate experience.

We are very pleased with the concrete patio that Jake and his team created for us. Jake was very helpful in his suggestions on shape, color and stamp texture. His entire team were very professional and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them in the future.

We scheduled a bid appt with Jake. He didn't show at the scheduled time. I called him 30 minutes later to get a ETA. He said that he thought he called & spoke with me earlier that morning to tell me he's going to need to reschedule. He said here must be 2 people with the same name in his phone... very disappointed. We set aside the morning for this. We're have multiple projects we're needing to get started and are on a very tight schedule. We feel like we've really had our time wasted.

Jake was great! He was extremely professional and did the job quickly. After meeting with other contractors on Angie?s List we decided to go with someone who was timely (yes, there are a bunch of flakes out there), professional, knowledgeable, and that could do the job quickly. Jake fixed our drainage problem in our breezeway and it looks great! Thank you Jake!

Jake tore out existing porch and walkway, set the forms and removed all debris the first day. He came back in two days day to pour the concrete for exposed aggregate. They were creative in forming a more appealing shape to the porch and were careful to match the height of the walkway to the existing driveway. The porch was about 4' by 13' and the walkway about 3' by 20'. The following day he came to wash off the sugar water and clean up. He sealed the new work and the existing driveway. Clean up of the sugar water rinse could have been a bit better but overall was a good job.

So far I have only had the trench's edges cut and now I'm waiting to have concrete poured.

Jake and his crew were wonderful to work with. I was not an easy customer. I had a hard time deciding exactly what I want to do and he was very patient and helpful through out this process. He gave me referrals to jobs he had done before so I could go see in person what it would look like and even came out to the house a second time to talk about my different choices. I cant say enough about the customer service that Jake provides. The work was done on time and he has a knowledgeable and skilled crew. And, I LOVE my new patio! I have already refered him to many friends.

I called Alternative Edge for a quote. Jake answered the phone and scheduled to meet me the next morning. He showed up right on time. Not knowing exactly what I wanted other than a new patio, I talked to Jake about what my ideas were for my backyard. He listened to all my needs and came up with some great suggestions. We agreed a sand finish would best suit what I was looking for. I received my quote with in a few days just as I was told. Doing my due diligence, I got a few other quotes and after all was said and done, I decided to go with Jake due to his professionalism and competitive price. Jake and his crew came out and demoed my deck and started putting the forms in. Jake had me come out to see how things were coming along. Seeing the line where the patio would sit, I realized my vision was not quite capable with the actual landscape of my yard. It had a much greater slope hiding under the deck than I realized. Jake seeing I was a little concerned about the way things were coming out, he and his guys spent a while with me going over other ideas of how it could be adjusted to fit my needs. They came up with another suggestion that worked out amazingly. Being that it's spring, we had to wait a few days for dry weather to seal the patio but all that did was build the anticipation of us getting to use the new, beautiful patio that they created. Hands down, I was very impressed with Jake & his crew. I'm love my new patio and think they did an amazing job.

Jake responded very promptly to our request for a bid. The bid was professional and included details of the job, specifications and CAD drawings. We obtained three bids and Jake's was the best. We made several changes after the initial bid and he made adjustments as needed. Once we accepted the bid, Jake scheduled the work right away and always showed up on schedule. All of his crew was professional and hard working. They were all careful to protect the site. Start to finish, the work took less than a week (including the final sealing after the concrete set). Jake really paid attention to all of the details and responded immediately to our questions. The final result is impressive, with excellent quality. The attention to detail really shows. A truck driver who was here making an unrelated delivery a few days after the job was done saw it and went out of his way to tell me that he had worked in decorative concrete for years. He told me he hoped I recognized the superior quality of the project. We would definitely use Alternative Edge again. All in all we could not be more pleased-low price and superior work!

Compared to the other bid I recieved for my back porch overlay, Alternative Edge's was better. The owner Jake showed up on time and was very profesional. He was ready to start the job and was prepared when he arrived. He was very helpfull and had great ideas on additional design elements and color choices. He finished the overlay and stamping in a timely fashion and then sealed the work after recieving my approval. He cleaned his mess and gathered all of his equipment and left for the day. I was very satisfied looking at my new porch even though I could not walk on it yet! To my suprise Jake called me the next day to come back and check out the work, he decided to seal it a second time at no charge, making it extra shiny which is what I wanted. He then telephoned again about a week later and asked me how I was enjoying the new porch, I told him I was delighted and that I loved the additional ideas he had regarding the border and compass design we added. He came over to see the work one more time as I value him being a perfectionist! He and I were completely satisfied with the job. I highly recommend this company. Jake the owner was profesional, prompt, educated about the work, and competativly priced. My family and I now love sitting on our beautiful back porch enjoying the summer days! We cant wait till we can have this company out again to overlay our driveay this fall.

Everything went as planned, no surprises! Jake, the owner, showed us several patterns and colors to choose from and answered all of our questions in a way that I was able to understand. He was clean, courteous, professional and well spoken. The crew and him showed up when promised and were very hard workers. They paid great attention to detail and quality. They demolished the old patio very quickly and poured the new one the next day. They also took care to protect our house and property from dust and debris. We are very happy with our new stamped concrete patio and would recommend Alternative Edge to anyone.

Everything went great. The edging is exactly what we wanted and looks very nice. They did the work on time and were very professional and hard working. We plan on using them again on future work.
