Bob Christensen's Plumbing

As Bob Christensen later said, sarcastically, "Next time hire a handyman." He sent out two plumbers for this very basic job because, as he later put it, he always sends out two, as per policy, for "safety" reasons. He failed to disclose this when I called and described the job. His bill was $402, almost all of it for labor. After I called to ask why this routine job required two plumbers, he offered a 10 percent discount and made the handyman comment. I hired him because he advertises in our community newsletter and owns a house here. He should have been up front about the fact that this small job didn't require a plumber, let alone two, and that if I still wanted to hire him I'd be paying for two plumbers. So ... caveat emptor. (The professionalism of the two plumbers was fine, as was their workmanship. My rating reflects the fact that I was blindsided by the undisclosed two plumber policy, which generated the high bill.)

Bob was professional and handled EVERYTHING quickly! All I needed to do was answer a few questions about how I wanted to proceed with the situation. I would suggest Bob Christensen Plumbing when it is a job that has to be done and done right!

When I first called company I was told they were too busy for this small job and suggested I call someone else. I made a number of phone calls but the plumbers in the area all seemed too busy to address the problem. Since I had the house built in 2007, I looked at my records to find out who did the plumbing work and I discovered that Bob Christensen did the work so I called him again. When he realized he had worked on the house, he agreed to send a worker. He assigned one of his plumbers (who I believe lived in my area, but I'm not sure of that). On 6/19 I received a call from the plumber who was on his way to my house and wanted to confirm the location. (I was not at the home at this time as it is a 2nd home and I live full-time in Portland). He called a little while later - maybe an hour or so - and told me the job was done and that Bob would send me a bill. I received a bill a few days later for $410.15. $135.15 for parts (two hose bibs) and $275 for and ldquo;service and laborand rdquo;. I called Bob and told him I would like to discuss the bill with him. He told me he would check in his office at home and call me back. To date I have not heard from him.

I got a leak and this was the only plumber I could get a hold of. I was very grateful that they were able to come immediately and he was only 20 mins away. One plumber showed up and fixed my leak and was at my house an hour. I was at work but my daughter and mother were here and I was communicating with him on the phone. The plumber who showed up was not able to give me an estimate, said he didn't do billing so I was completely left in the dark. I have heard good things about this company so was completely shocked when I received a bill for $255.00. I called to ask why my labor and service was $217.50 for 1 hour of work.I was told that was for 1.5 hour (travel time) and labor. I have hired plumbers before and I usually have two for that price. I asked the owner what their hourly rate was and was never given an answer. I can't say that I will use them again unless I can't get a hold of another plumber. Their prices are just a little to high for me but I was happy they were available to come right away.

I was amazed at what they did, they came at 5:45 on a Friday night. It was difficult to fix because it was a wall hung toilet but they were very pleasant, clean, and had reasonable prices.

It took two phone calls to firm the appointment, but service was provided within a few hours of the second call. The work was done expeditiously, the quality of the work was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

Called Bob in mid-morning about toilet problem. Was able to dispatch a plumber by early afternoon on same day. Quickly acknowledged my problem, proposed a fix and repaired the problem with a combination of my parts and his. When asked about other plumbing needs, I mentioned the hot water heater. He readily acknowledged the root cause, proposed a fix and repaired the problem. All in all, work was completed in under an hour.

Our ancient beach cabin is one plumbing adventure after another. The folks from Bob Christensen's keep us from drowning. Although a fair distance away, they are always quick to respond to our distress calls and make any needed repairs. This was one of the worst, but they got is fixed promptly with a minimum of disruption. We would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing assistance in the Tillamook County.
