Very professional, skillful, helpful in pointing out issues that were not correctly done, or were in need of repair. They had to order some parts, and were very quick on the turn around, also quick on turn around of screens they fabricated. Wish I know more guys like this in other trades.

My overly energetic dogs had pushed the screen through to create their own "door" (even though I have a dog door in the kitchen). I check Angie's List for screening companies. Called Mobile Screen and set it up. The installer was very prompt and professional and had the door and screen fixed and re-installed in a short amount of time. We watched as the dogs tried to go through the sliding screen door and bounced off of it! Pretty funny. The price was reasonable and they accepted an Angie's List coupon. I would definitely recommend Mobile Screens to anyone. I may be calling them again in the future to do another door.
Description of Work: I had called a few weeks ago for an estimate to re-screen my sliding screen door and a window in my kitchen. I wanted heavy pet screening to prevent them from doing this and made arrangements to have it done.

Response from Mobile Screens Etc Inc
I was really surprised to get this report. Customer, who was very polite and cordial, mentioned several times that what we were proposing to do was perfect and she seemed to be completely pleased with the work at the time of payment. I feel the final result was just that, perfect. I can guarantee that no bugs will get in past her screens. • To address the first comment: I don’t understand what they mean by poor service. There were no flaws when we left. The two that were found were repaired immediately. Occasionally flaws are found on new rolls of mesh and they are returned to our supplier. Several of their screens were of a very difficult nature to make so instant service was not an option here. There are hundreds of ways to make screens and all are custom made. Some are very time consuming like the triangle-top screen (which took two hours to make) for their upstairs office. • To address the second comment: None of the screens we left them with would fall out if pushed. She had cats closed up in the downstairs bedroom and didn't want them getting out. This apparently is a reference to the 3 screens we made and didn't install (and didn't charge them for) once I discovered that their vinyl window frame wouldn't allow a standard screen to stay in place without drilling holes into the sides of the window frame (to align spring loaded pins into). We could have made a more durable screen frame with a tougher mesh and clipped it onto the inside front of the window to keep the cats in, but that was not acceptable, as she didn’t want the holes drilled into the inside of windows . I suggested going to the original manufacturer (Milgard) because these screens take a special frame and spring loaded clip that only Milgard uses and no one else makes. They will not keep cats in. Upon leaving I put in a call to Milgard and found that they would not sell direct to the consumer and that they had to go through a dealer to purchase the screens. I found a dealer, acquired a price and called the Customer with that price and location to purchase them. This price was $40 less than I was charging per screen. I saved them $120 on their screen needs. • To address the third comment: I arrived with my new trainee Bryan (a former Marine learning an entirely new trade which partially explains the need for 3 trips out to complete the work) on Sept 7th at 11 AM on time. The description of work given above was “a number of screens needed replacing and rescreening”. We were asked to make 7 new custom sized window screens for the house (not “replace” because there was nothing left for Bryan to measure or look at for use as a template which would have been a lot easier), repair two patio doors and build one new heavy duty patio door that was a custom width. On-site we re-screened one patio door screen frame and replaced the wheels. We ran out of the type of wheels we needed and had to take one of the doors back to the shop to add the wheels and rescreen it. The new small custom sized screen door frame had to be cut down and routered out for the wheels in the shop. We can’t carry a door router on the truck, as it’s too big. One of the window screens was shaped like half of a house (it had a pointed corner on the top). Due to the difficult nature of this type of screen it can only be made in the shop with special tools and corners and because of the unusual corners it takes at least 1 hour of time to construct. I’m probably the only person in the Portland area that can make this type of screen. We returned as quickly as we could (second trip out), as we were booked up two weeks in advance. I installed the kitchen screen door, the new small patio door and the difficult pointed screen upstairs. The 3 downstairs window screens were not done correctly (as mentioned above) because they would not keep cats in. We rebuilt them and Bryan delivered them the next day at 9 am. This is when the Customer said they didn't want to drill holes for them and decided not to take them. It didn't take four trips to complete the job; the fourth trip was later that same day just to run the visa because I only have one portable visa machine in my truck. The employees don’t have one. • I don’t feel that any of this warrants giving out a D or an F grade. The Customer might have been exhausted from moving in to their new older home which had a few things that needed to be fixed quickly (someone was also working on the A/C unit) so that the cats, the dog and humans could relax and get back to their normal routines. If there were any problems with the work we had done they should have mentioned it when I came to collect on the bill, September 14 at 4:27 (not the 13th). Not one word was mentioned about any of the points we were graded on then or even now 2 months after having done the work. There was no way we could have made her screens any better. It’s an old house and the doors aren't square (besides they were of poor design when they were new because the locks didn't work well and when the top track sags the doors wouldn't close all the way). There is a hodgepodge of different types and styles of old and newer windows on the house, and I understood they were going to remodel and replace many of them.

Needing a custom screen, Mobile Screens carefully assessed the needs, made the necessary measurements, and built the screens. Installation offered its challenges, but Kevin's inventiveness saved the day. Knowing we were leaving eminently, he worked until dark to complete the job. Kevin is the screen guy.
Description of Work: Kevin, of Mobile Screens, has mastery of his craft. We needed a custom-fit 2-part screen for our pop-up trailer. Kevin considered and brainstormed the options, explained limits and possibilities, and worked up a plan. One frame was outsourced but screened in house. Upon installation, Kevin deftly worked with the materials, adjusting and refining the fit. Kevin get high marks for his professionalism and skill.

I have an old house in NE Portland, & I have replaced all the window except in the front where I wanted to keep the look of the original house. I contacted 2 other companies from Angies list with the most expensive bid of over $2000. After talking with them all, I narrowed it down to this one & another in SE Portland. The one in SE Portland would make them, but I would have to hire someone to pick them up & install them. Kevin came in his van and it was all inclusive. He was friendly, professional, personable, punctual, and gave me a bid that day. He understood, that I wanted to keep the original look of the house the same. You can hardly tell that they are there, and my house was warmer during the winter. I live on a busy neighborhood street and they also have muffled the road noise. I waited this long before writing a review just because I wanted to go through the winter to see if there was any difference. I would recommend his company to my family & friends.
Description of Work: I had 11 Storm Windows placed. All different sizes & shapes. If you have a older home, then you know what I'm talking about.

I called and made an appointment for June 21st. We were in no big hurry so our appointment was for the following week, which was fine. The woman in the office answered my questions about screen materials and installation in a veyr proessional and friendly manner.Travis was the technician and he was excellent. He is very professional and attentive to detail. He arrived on time, surveyed all the screens that we wanted replaced, carefully removed the existing screens and then built the replacements. I would definitely use Mobile Screens for any future screen replacement.

This guy is amazing. We changed our minds 3 times and got 3 different proposals and he did that without any complaints. He was very communicative about the timing. He arrived early and on time for each visit. And the end product was just great. We had never had storm windows and the first thing you notice is how quiet the house gets. Then the next thing you noise is that it's not that cold or drafty by the window anymore. We considered putting double pane windows in but this was about 1/4 or more less in cost. So we were pretty happy with the results.

Thank you for the great report card on our company. The noise reduction was surprising to us as well when we compared the noise level in the window that had a storm window installed in it to the window in the next room that didn't have one yet. The cars couldn't even be heard! Let me know if you ever need screens for the upstairs windows. It was a pleasure working with you.

They perform quality work at reasonable prices. Turn around time for drop offs were usually quoted at about a week, however, they usually called in advance of that time to advise the work was completed and ready to be picked up.
Description of Work: I have used Mobile Screens several times over the years and have always been pleased with the quality of their work and their overall professionalism as an organization. I have always taken my screens in to their facility in Tigard, dropped them off and picked them up after they had been repaired. I have never used their mobile service to travel to my home. The job went very well. We received professional, quality service from the first time we called to the good clean-up at the end. Kevin's estimate was especially well done - I have little experience with windows - he took the time to explain the job and how the hardware worked. All measurements were correct and all of the new windows fit like a glove. Kevin, Travis, and John were exceptionally polite and friendly.

Kevin spent a lot of time carefully inspecting every window and screen door in our home and helped us come up with a plan to make everything operate properly, and also improve visibility. It was a complicated project, but Kevin gave us lots of options and helped us problem-solve. Kevin took detailed notes and later emailed me a plan of the house that indicated our final decisions about each window. His team came out and hung the new screen doors, removed all the window screens, repaired them, and stored them in our yard while we had the exterior of the house painted. Then our painter communicated with Kevin and he returned with his team when the paint had cured to wash and replace the window screens/storms. The work went smoothly as Kevin has a good team, and we are very pleased with the results.
