JS Roofing

After reading rave reviews on Google, we called JS Roofing at 6pm and had a proposal from Ivan by early afternoon the next day. His proposal was not the least expensive nor the most expensive, but--out of the five companies from which we received bids--his presentation was the best! Visually informative! Using an i-Pad and an app, Ivan took a picture of our house; then, he replaced the image of our existing roof with an image of new GAF roofing shingles in the color of our choice. His app saved us from making a huge mistake! Our first and second color choices clashed with the speckled color of our brick fascia, but the color we finally chose looks fantastic. The job took four and a half days with the crew on-site for about 10 hours each day (except the last). The tear-off phase was lengthy because our large roof had heavy concrete tile, and we asked for all new plywood to replace existing OSB. The crew was incredibly pleasant--even when the temperature hit 103 degrees. They smiled and waved at us whenever we came outside. Whenever we had a question or concern, Ivan addressed it immediately and to our satisfaction. He truly values customer feedback and seems determined to earn rave reviews by satisfying customer expectations. We are thankful that we called JS Roofing, and we are very pleased with our new roof. Also, because Ivan's company is GAF-certified, we received a 50 year non-prorated, transferable warranty from GAF. Update: I recently became aware that they now go by JSR on Angies List.

I requested a meeting with Ivan to get a bid for a roof to go over a box bay window before the box bay was built so that if there was anything we needed our GC to do in preparation for the new roof - especially since we were planning to do concrete tile, same as what is on our home - the work would be done correctly and the job could proceed without a hitch. Ivan told me that he'd come out with the person who was coming to clean our our roof on 4/8 (see my other review). He didn't show. I've no idea why. I talked to him on the phone and we set up a time to meet for that Saturday (4/11). He stood me up. I know things can come up to delay appointments but he didn't even call to explain why he wouldn't be there. He simply did not show. I called the office on Monday, 4/13 to express my frustration and disappointment.I told the receptionist that I was seriously rethinking my rave review of JS Roofing. I was told someone would call me. No one called me. At all. If they weren't interested in the work, the least they could have done was say, "no, thank you." But no one called. We've hired another roofing company. As I told a neighbor, perhaps they are good at the big jobs and horrible at the little jobs. But the little jobs need doing, just the same.

When JS Roofing cleaned our roof last year, Ivan suggested that we use their annual roof-blowing, gutter cleaning service to reduce the frequency of the need to clean the entire roof. To save money in the long run and to prolong our roof's life, we signed up for their annual service. Ivan told us that they would perform this work in December. December came around and we didn't hear from JS Roofing. I called them a month or two later to find out when they would be by. I don't recall their exact answer but the answer was essentially, "soon." Another month or so went by and I still hadn't seem them so I called again to request this service. Someone finally came to clean our roof and gutters in April, much later than we had anticipated (and long past due for gutter cleaning). The work they do is great but I'm disappointed that I had to follow-up with them multiple times for something that we were led to believe would be an annual, routine service. We have a similar arrangement with the company who tests our back flow system. We never have to call to remind them; they know to come do the work at about the same time every year. Would I use JS Roofing again? Maybe.

Getting your roof repaired is not exactly what most people call romantic. It's also not something you tend to show off at your next dinner party. But when the 2nd, 3rd and 4th roof patch didn't fix our water problem, it was clearly time to consider replacing our flat roof. After getting several quotes, we decided to hire JS Roofing to do the job. Ivan and Gerard are pros. They kept me informed at each step and when a rather significant problem was uncovered during the roof removal, they had a solution and price worked out in very short order. The work was very well done, on time and on budget. They paid attention to detail and did a few extras - because it was the right thing to do. The team was courteous and efficient - and they cleaned up the work site amazingly well. I would recommend this company to my family and friends, and they will definitely be my first call should I need roof services in the future. Now that I've got my new roof, I think I actually will show it off at my next dinner party!

Our roof started leaking on a Saturday evening and pretty heavily too. Needless to say we couldn't get in touch with anyone- even other services that quoted 24X7 response. Ivan and his team showed up first thing Sunday morning- almost as soon as I called him first time, and evaluated the problem. He gave us a quote, scheduled us immediately knowing the criticality of the issue and brought in additional experts to address the issue. The work was completed as promised, everything cleaned up and showed pictures from the before and after site also. Overall, the team was very respectful, upfront, honest and professional with the work they did. We would definitely recommend them and request their help on future projects!

Ivan and his crew tore off the old roof and replaced it with a vastly superior product. I have a low slope roof prone to leaks in valleys and around the flashing. The new roof provides needed ventilation in the crawl space and enhanced air circulation for summertime temperature mediation. Ivan's crew was on time and worked hard during tough weather conditions of rain, ice and wind. Through that they got the job done on time. Their equipment was first class, the men were all polite and all worked hard. I recommend anyone considering a roof replacement or repair to strongly consider Ivan and his team at JS Roofing.

Ivan and his crew do a wonderful job! They take pride in their work, value their commitments and are competitive with price. I like how Ivan communicates quickly with questions about the job and strives to do the best they can do.

Ivan and his crew were great. Ivan had great follow up from the intitial bid all the way through the project. His crew showed up on time, did wonderful work and had an eye for quality and detail. Ivan providing other projects in the area to compare color and quality. His crew was careful not to damage our plants and they clean up so well the place was better when they left than before the project. Ivan even arranged to have the home washed down and even powerwashed the driveway. Our roof was desperately in need of cleaning since it had been too many years since we'd had this last done. We hired JS Roofing on the recommendation of several neighbors who hired them 3 summers ago and were very pleased with their work. Ivan showed up on time to give me a quote, as did Juan and Jesus, the crew who did the work. I was very pleased that they took steps to protect my garden as best they could before beginning, throwing tarps over plants near the house and over my 3 water features. I've hired contractors before who've stomped through my garden without a second thought (and I'd never hire them again!). Ivan, Juan and Jesus were respectful, professional and hard-working. We'd hire JS Roofing again. I will never again hire just a power washing company to clean our roof. I want a crew that knows how to walk on a concrete tile roof to prevent cracking or breaking tiles (we hired JS Roofing to repair the 10 broken tiles they found while cleaning our roof.)

I am very pleased with his work. He has a great personality, work ethic and he is very honest. The quality of work is good and the price is very reasonable. He would rather do a great job and not cut corners, than have the lowest prices. I would recommend him to anyone!
