with the After doing some research, and getting a few bids, I chose Johnson Home Improvement. I selected them for the following reasons: They install a quality product (Milgard). They don't tear up the inside trim, they cut it in place (I have stained woodwork, and didn't want it disturbed). And finally, they use solid wood on the outside trim, not finger- jointed, and they paint it. Overall, it was excellent, and I'm a very picky engineering type. They use quality materials, and the workmanship was excellent. Darrell (the installer) kept me informed as to what he was doing, and cleaned up each night. I did have one issue on the inside trim, Glenn (the owner) came out and addressed the problem.

This is the second time we have used johnson none improvement for a project. We just cant speak highly enough of them.

Their price and service was excellent. Everyone was very nice. I had one issue with replacing molding at the base of a slider that went out under the deck and I thought they went above and beyond to come up with a solution that matched my interior flooring. They were the lowest bid of the three I got, and they had the most comprehensive package. It was a great overall experience.

This was the perfect storm for a large project. I had checked out this particular vendor initially on Angie's list and then followed up with a Milgard representative becoming aware of an upcoming Milgard seminar (summer of 2010) being put on by the contractor for which I attended and had the opportunity to meet Glenn Johnson whom you could tell right away was very knowledgeable and experienced with an absolutely no high pressure sell. I Initally indicated I would not do this type of project until the summer months so he just gave me his card and said to call them when I was ready to look a little closer. We also got a tour of the Milgard manufacturing facility which did not take long to see that you were dealing with a quality vendor product who cared about the quality of their product along with the installation and warranty. When we decided to proceed with the project I asked for a recommendation on their installer team and although I believe their entire team is experienced and have quality people we enjoyed the installer assigned to our job (Darrel) and in our opinion got the best of the best. Not only was the installation excellent his attention to detail was impeccable as the finish work definitely was outstanding and made the whole project come together. Windows are not cheap and as long as you do your research and determine what fits best for you I believe Johnson Home Improvement is an excellent choice and worth doing business with. Larry Brown

They were working with Milgard Windows. They gave a seminar on window replacement and at time I picked them out on Angies List and decided to go ahead and have the windows replaced. They were very punctual. The owner of the company came out to give the estimate. He was very helpful in going through everything and explaining everything. The job went very well and I had no problems. The gentlemen who showed up to do the installation always showed pretty punctually, cleaned up after themselves and the installation went off really well. I had no problems with the installation. I was happy with the work they did. If the need rose I would use them in the future.

Great. Owner is very knowledgeable and professional. Office manager is very helpful and friendly. Installers did a great job and very conscious.

Their price was great. Once, I had a problem of matching the threshold for sliding glass door on our deck, for which, they had to install a small piece of wood. They were very careful about the job and did an attractive. They did match it well, to the hard composite flooring and the interiors. I highly recommend their services and will use the same in future.

Their price was good and they responded quickly. They did a good job and they were very fast. There were some complications trying to get the exact right windows because the manufacturer had sent the wrong windows. There was some hassle related to that but Johnson was very helpful in getting that corrected. Their email response was fantastic. They would respond in less than an hour, which was very helpful to me.

Excellent process from beginning to end. The installer was very meticulous and professional. They caught an error from the factory and had that remedied.

This is a revised Revised review! My first review was pretty harsh but they have "stepped up to the plate" and completed the process of correcting the defective windows as well as they apologized for the behavior of the installers. I have already used them again for a second job to replace yet another window and was VERY pleased with the installation and quality of the window. Honestly, after many months of usage, I NOW believe the very pricey Milgard Quiet Line series is worth the extra money. They are nice windows. The Tuscany line is also a very good window. Milgard has been superb in their customer service - Steve has been out to my house twice and each time he was very professional. Much appreciated.

Received an estimate for new windows. They were slow in returning the estimate. Seemed competitive with others and comparable in services offered, except they do not do skylights. Went with a company that did.

This is not the first time I've used Johnson Home Improvement. Several years ago they replaced 15 windows, 3 sliding glass doors, and a window garden box. Some fixed pane, some sliders, some casement. I was so pleased with that job that when it came time to replace the rest of my windows, I didn't hesitate to call Johnson Home Improvement. In fact, I didn't even bother getting other bids. Glenn's bid was still very good, and I knew the quality of work would be excellent. This time it was a smaller job, only took two days. They were very accommodating of our tight timeline. We needed the windows replaced by a certain date. They beat the date! The job site was cleaned up daily, the worker (Doug) was professional and courteous. Arlene in the office always returned calls promptly and courteously. Three houses on my street have had window replacement done by Glenn and his crews, and someone I work with used them, too. We are all very pleased. I would use him again in a heartbeat....wait....I already did use him again.

Johnson Home Improvement is a very good company. The installer was a true craftsman, and he did an excellent job. I had gotten two other bids which were higher. Johnson Home Improvement did a great job at a great price.

From the beginning, this was a very positive experience. I chose Johnson Home Improvement as one of the bidding contractors because of their excellent ratings from Angie's List and because they were right in the neighborhood. I was able to set up an appointment for an estimate right away and Glenn, the owner, came right on time. He was very thorough and answered every question. He was also very nice and not high pressure at all. After he submitted his first bid, we had some further questions and made more precise decisions on exactly what we wanted. There was no problem getting further bids that reflected our decisions. His bids were also very precise, stating exactly how much they were charging for each window. Moreover, his list of each action they would perform in installing the windows was reassuring. Arlene, who handled much of the communication in their office, was very helpful in handling much of the correspondence. The only reason we did not choose Johnson was that we had one lower bid from a contractor that we had an equal level of confidence in. Even then, It was a very difficult decision. If I were looking to get bids from a competititive window replacement contractor, I would strongly recommend Johnson.

They did a very nice job. They are pretty busy so they were slow to get scheduled. I am very happy with their work. The price was average and no better than anyone else.

I cannot say enough good about this company! Glenn is so nice, Arlene is so responsive and efficient, the installers are so experienced and professional. I wouldn't use anyone else. They worked around our remodeling schedule - even came back on a weekend to install the final 2 windows in the new addition.

I felt very good about working with them. They were basically the best price compared to the bids that I got from few other companies. It will probably take one or two days more for this project to complete and I will definitely use them for the remaining work. The quality of work has been good so far.

He was knowledgable and offered a lot of information on the quality of the windows. Milgard manufactured the windows. Glen walked me through the whole installation process and answered all questions that I had. The installation was excellentI highly recommend this company. The job was done professionally and punctually.

They came when they said they were going to come. They guy came prepared to do all of the work. Their estimate was very on point and nothing was changed or added to it. I think that their price was competitive with others. I think that they did a very good job.

The job was completed on time and all contacts with the owner and installer (owner's brother) were very good. The job was exceptionally well done, and a complaint at completion was referred to Milgard (Tualatin plant/office) and they followed up with a Milgard service call. HOWEVER-Johnson is NOT a "trade ally" with the "Energy Trust" and were actually less than helpful in the Incentive application paperwork! They DID provide a Milgard Invoice that had the "U-values" for the windows that were installed, but were even less receptive to my suggestion that they could easily provide the contractor-signed form that verifies information about the installation, job detail and installation date are complete and accurate. Seems that they could provide this (and VERY EASILY) upon completion of and payment for the job! When I suggested this, I was told that they were not a "trade ally" and I could either fax or mail the forms to them and they would sign and mail them back. As a result, I will make the "extra trip" to their location to get their signature! This is the most accurate descriptor of this work as of Monday, Oct 13, 2008. Thank you for taking time to review this service report of our experience with Johnson Home Improvement. the local utility trust denied incentive on two of the installed windows. Johnson Home Improvement followed up, confirmed the denial by the trust and paid me the amount the incentive would have been. This was something I did not ask for and I was quite impressed by their business ethic. They went above and beyond.

Working with this company was great! They were very accommodating. We had painters coming in right after them so we really needed them to be done on time and they were. The owner, Glenn, was extremely nice, had great ideas and was right on with his quote. Arlene (the one who works in the office) and Glenn returned my phone calls quickly and kept me informed on the progress of my window order. Darrell (the window installer) did an excellent job installing the windows. I felt very comfortable having him in my home. When my baby was down for a nap he tried to work on the opposite side of the house. The job took 5 days, the windows look fantastic and I would hire them again in a heart beat!

We did a great deal of comparison shopping for different types and brands of windows. Once we decided on Milgard, we contacted the factory for the names of their top installers and chose Johnson Home Improvement. Glen came out, measured and ordered the windows. There was a four week wait since all Milgard windows are made to order and we requested an additional week to accommodate other renovations going on. The installer, Jeff, was absolutely awesome. He was friendly and courteous and the work was extremely professional. It was obvious that he takes great pride in the quality of his work and it shows. We could not be happier with both the windows and Johnson Home Improvement. They were also the lowest bidder, although that wasn't our only deciding factor. The final cost was higher than the estimate, but that was because we decided to add interior trim. Jeff did a super job on that too.

Well, I wasn't too happy with the way they were putting in the windows. I particularly didn't like the way he insisted on caulking around the inside of the windows instead of the outside-it looks tacky. I would not have them come out and work for us again.
