+ -1 moreAfter back and forth voice mails and one text where I sent him a photo of the truck as seen from my window (uploaded here), Mr. Darby stated he had every right to allow his employee to park the truck there. I called the city and received a definitive answer that it was in violation of several codes and most definitely not allowed. I was asked if I wished to file a complaint. I said I would wait and give Mr. Darby time to inform his employee. I phoned Mr. Darby to tell him that I had this information. He answered and gave his phone to a man who identified himself as "Mike." Mike proceeded to call me "a very rude woman," and a liar and was verbally abusive, claiming I was yelling at him when in fact I spoke one sentence. I hung up. I was frightened of this Mike person, not knowing who he was, and I called Mr. Darby's office line to tell him the information I was trying to impart when Mike took the phone, which was the city stated in no uncertain terms that the truck was parked illegally. I also expressed my fear, and said that if I or my property were harmed by this Mike person I would hold Mr. Darby responsible. Mr. Darby's cell phone rang my phone two times that afternoon and did not leave a message. I did not answer it, fearing another tirade from Mike. Later in the afternoon, Mr. Darby left a voice mail. He called my communication with him "disgusting," and said if I called him again he would "come and get me." I reported this threat to the Portland Police Department. He said his employee would continue to park his truck wherever he wanted to, and if I didn't like it I "should shut my f***ing drapes." Mr Darby used the word I have bleeped. I eventually notified the landlord of the employee, who had the truck removed the next day. I was shocked that someone with a business would behave in such a manner, threatening me, encouraging his employee to violate city code, and trying to make it as if I were the person in the wrong. I would not hire Mr. Darby under any circumstances, nor would I recommend his services to my worst enemy.
Description of Work: An employee of Mr. Darby was parking a commercial dump truck in the evenings and over a weekend in my residential neighborhood. This is in violation of several Portland city codes. I found the truck belonged to Mr. Darby's company through the USDOT number on it. Rather than filing a complaint with the city or having parking enforcement come out and cite the vehicle, I contacted Mr. Darby to let him know his vehicle was illegally parked in a zoned residential neighborhood of higher end single family homes, thinking he probably didn't know. Although a number of neighbors were not happy with the truck, my home was particularly impacted as the dump trunk, at times full of debris, was parked directly across the street and visible from our front windows. It was a hazard, as it was essentially blocking the pedestrian right of way, and it was an eyesore.

Description of Work: I left a message for John stating my name and number twice, along with how I was referred to hm and the purpose for my call. Rather than calling me back he told the person that recommended him that I had attitude because I didn't call him. Not the type of person I would chose to do business with.
