Evergreen Tree Service

Taking out the tree went fine. Doing the required follow up work afterward was very bad. They smashed another bush and cut it out without my approval. And they cut my sprinkler line in a couple of places when they ground the stump and didn't tell me they did. It was obvious there was a sprinkler line close to where they were working. They said they would not repair it because "the contract said they aren't responsible". They never returned my calls. I hoped they could have told me when they saw ground up plastic pipe when they were grinding the stump because they would have seen plastic. It would have been a relatively simple fix then. Instead I discovered it with subsequent flooding. Much much more work for me because they ignored the problem.

Work went as planned. They got the trees out and cleaned up very well. Came back the next day to grind out the stumps. There was a problem with one of the stumps being in an area that required a smaller stump grinder. The smaller grinder was in the shop, so we had to reschedule a couple of times for the last stump to be ground out. But once the grinder was out of the shop, they returned as promised and finished the job. The office staff was pleasant and easy to work with. We would hire them again.

It went very well. It did take longer than expected but I think one of the trees was larger expected so it took longer. Despite the fact it took longer they stuck to their quote and did not charge me more. Overall very good job.

Being near the street and power lines, we had to do much coordination with pge. It took 3 months to do it all, because of this. But we got it done. The only downside was the lack of total communication during the process. They were very good but I wanted to just point out that you need to stay in touch with them.

These guys were great! they listened to my requests and made our tree beautiful. The thinned it, removed a large branch and shaped it. We will be a repeat customer for sure.

Great service from estimate to completion of the work. The crew was very professional and careful of neighboring yards given the small area they were working with. Once done The yard looked better than before they arrived so the cleanup exceeded my expectations. Will use them for future work.

Quick response once contacted. Chris came out to look at the plants and made helpful recommendations. Crew of three came out about a week later and did a good job, working quickly and cleaning up.

Each crew was on time, professional, experienced, their equipment in good condition. Their completed work is excellent. Their clean up and site restoration was excellent.

Tree came down with no problems, Immediately ground up. Stump ground up, area raked. Moving machine with tractor treads up hill caused wet ground to rut and continue to get sloppy. The tech raked up as best as possible, approved by me and on the way out ground up two additional stumps, What more could be asked for. I am considering taking down another taller tree in the future and they will get work.

The men worked very well, constantly for the full hour, and were quite willing to adjust their work to my requests. They were friendly, informative, and very thorough. After they cleaned up you would have never known they were there, except the tree is in much much better condition now.

Absolutely the worst customer service imaginable and horrendous cost estimating by a supposed professional arborist. We were looking to have two street trees (elm) trimmed this fall. Chris Young came out to price the job and to identify what work was needed (e.g., trim back from house, trim any identified safety hazards, etc). He quoted us $1,200 and we agreed to the job based on his estimate. A couple of weeks later we agreed to a work date. When the crew came to the house we were disappointed to learn that they would not do the work because it was a bigger job than Chris estimated (e.g., my rationale is that they failed to realize they needed to control for traffic...which is insane, since they are street trees and even a child would assume street traffic could be an issue). Chris then calls me and says the cost of job is now $4,800 (four times Chris?s original estimate!!!). This is unbelievable and disappointing!!! What was the purpose of Chris?s original visit? He reviewed the work that was needed during his first visit including location and condition of trees, so why was his estimate so horrifically off the mark? Anyway, after I told Chris that we did not want their services he had the nerve to say ?no hard feeling, right?? Give me a break! This is likely the most insulting and sophomoric contractor experience I have ever had. What is more disappointing is that Evergreen Tree Services has now wasted my time twice (i.e., for original estimate and planned workday ? both requiring me to take time off of work). Even worse, this work is further delayed now because I need to go back out to find a new contractor, and our trees are still not serviced. I strongly recommend anyone reading this review to avoid Evergreen Tree Services because they provide horrible customer service and have ?no clue? on how to estimate a job. Further, from my experience, it appears like some type of scam. How else do you explain a 300% cost increase dropped on you the day of the work? Answer: a) They do not know how to estimate a job, b) they are pulling a scam, c) they do not want the work, or d) they enjoy wasting the time of potential customers. Regardless I find their practices unethical and deceiving and I would discourage anyone from doing business with Evergreen Tree Services. The second biggest disappointment is that I partially selected this firm based on the AL rating. I guess this calls into question the validity of AL ratings.

It went great. The crew arrived on time and went right to work. The main job was a large honey locust that had many dead branches, one very large one right over the power lines. They efficiently removed the selected branches then moved on to a mature maple tree that had a major dead main branch. They cut the usable wood into lengths for my wood stove leaving it neatly stacked, removed all the smaller branches from the lawn then "blew' the work area leaving nothing behind. The whole job took about 2 1/2 hours. Safety was observed by having the power company take down the power line in the work zone. They all wore safety helmets and goggles and gave warning before tossing branches down to the ground. They were all very friendly and polite. I would recommend Evergreen Tree Service with no reservations.

We requested someone to come an evaluate the trees on our property as many are near the house and if some fall, could damage the house. Chris came and looked at all of our trees and reassured us that they were healthy, but suggested that limbs should be trimmed from several of them to clean them up and limit the limbs that could fall in a windstorm. We agreed to have 6 trees trimmed; an appointment was scheduled for a few weeks out, and the team came and worked efficiently and quickly to climb up the trees and trim them, and chipped all of the branches in their chipper. The even disposed of a few large branches that had fallen and we had not yet been able to get rid of. We were happy with the outcome. We subsequently called them again in September, 2015 to look a a weeping cherry tree, a japanese maple, and a red maple tree that we thought needed trimming. They came a few weeks later and very efficiently trimmed all three trees nicely and much more quickly than we could have done ourselves, even if we knew what to do. The cost was $300.

They come out to our house on a bi-weekly basis (they've been doing this for several years). We have also had them prune/thin our 3 trees that are in our backyard. The crew that shows up always gets right to work - and they work hard (even on the days when the temp is scorching) We recommend Evergreen to all our neighbors (who have hired them in the past as well)

Chris came out to provide a quote. The crew did a great job. They were efficient and performed the services I had requested in the amount of time Chris had quoted. They were neat and cleaned up all the debris they created from the job. They did not damage any of my other plants. I will definitely have them come out again next year to trim my bushes and trees.

Chris was very professional and we felt he gave expert advise and didn't try to talk us into having extra a work done. We had asked about getting our magnolia and crepe myrtle trees pruned but he said not for at least another year. The gentleman who came to mark the underground wires was also very professional and friendly. The front yard looks We have used Evergreen in the past and we will definitely continue to use them in the future!

They arrived on time and were true professionals. Some of the trees were quite tall, and it was great to be able to trust them to perform the needed processes. They did have to return to cut a few branches in another area, and that went well too.

Provider was punctual and did a superb job of removing the tree and all of the debris. Would definitely use in the future.

one of their estimators came out and looked at the job and initially things seemed to go well and he told me they could do the work in the next day or two, but that spots were going to fill up fast so call him as soon as possible. I called within the hour and left a message that we wanted to move forward and then called back a couple hours later and he said he would have the office call. Still nothing so I called him back after another couple hours and left a message and then another couple hours and he said he had asked the office to call, but they had not. Then finally called right before closing, and said they couldn't do the job when quoted and it would have to be two more days out to complete. I had told him straight away that we on a tight timeline with landscapers otherwise I wouldn't be that particular, but he said he could make it happen. I was also told the job would all be done in one day, but now the quote was for cutting trees one day and stump grinding the next. We discussed that the trees were borderline on needing to be permitted, but the comment had been once the stumps were ground there is nothing for anyone to review. Well when it could not be done in one day I said what if a neighbor complained about possible code violations and the response was I am not getting that big a commission on this job to deal with this and so we are going to cancel offering you the service. Not a professional company with quality integrity. Follow through with what you promise or don't promise anything.

They did a great job, and they removed the tree stub. Usually other companies charge extra for this.

I contacted Evergreen and met with Eddie at our home to review the work to be performed. Eddie was very professional, knowledgeable and understanding of what we wanted done. The communication of the scope of the job to his crew was great. The three-man crew that came to do the work were also very professional hardworking and very knowledgeable about trimming / pruning trees. The crew worked very efficiently as a team and did an awesome job of cleanup once the work was completed. I will certainly use Evergreen Tree Service in the future and I highly recommend them.

These guys are like a machine and kind of fun to watch. We had a huge Deodara, probably 80-90 ft tall and 30" in diameter, in a very tight front yard on a very tight street and these guys had no problem, protected my wife's plants just feet from the tree, and did no damage to the surrounding trees/shrubbery.

He did an okay job. Their tree trimming style was a little aggressive. I didn't go out and babysit the technician and they ended up cutting back more than I wanted. They did a decent job but I would probably research for something else.

The crew was friendly and professional, they did a fantastic job removing the trees. We were slotted in for a last minute opening, which was nice to not have to wait another week or two. My only complaint is that when the scheduler called to schedule the service he gave a vague indication that they might be back two days later to grind the stumps. I expected a call or confirmation for this, so I was a bit surprised to have heard nothing and then come back to my yard to find all the stumps gone. They are certainly not the cheapest, but they did a great job.
