Overall, Able did a great job on the duct installation. One negative point - they had a couple delays in the getting the job done due to not having the right parts (it's a long story) but when the work was done I thought it was a much cleaner installation than was previously done on the house. My spray foam contractor even commented (gushed really) on how neat the installation was so that confirmed my positive impression of the work. Able has the Angies List Logo on their vehicles so they clearly take member feedback seriously and work hard to maintain their reputation. Everyone I dealt with was great. Jill answered the phone, was very nice, handled all of my initial questions, and followed up with me a week after I called. She even called me after the work was done just to make sure everything was done right and I was happy with the work. Armando came out and did the estimate. He knew his stuff and quickly got to the available options without rushing things. The two installers (Kevin and one other guy who's name I don't recall at the moment) did an incredibly neat duct installation as I mentioned above. I can usually find something wrong with installations like this as I built houses during the summer as a kid, but I didn't see anything wrong at all and I was really impressed by the duct fitting and how everything looked perfectly aligned, perfectly connected, etc. I think it was Armando who said "We do more furnace installations than duct work" but for a company that does less duct work they seem to have nailed the installation perfectly. Now that the work is done I can admit that I didn't even bother getting a second bid on the job. They were so good to deal with and the price seemed reasonable enough that I really didn't want to work with another company. In retrospect this was the right decision andI have no regrets. I'd definitely recommend this company.

After checking Angie's List, I selected Able Heating because of their satisfaction rating (A). And I was not disappointed. From the first phone call, the person answering the phone was very courteous and professional. Same with the repair person, very courteous and professional. I well definitely use Able for our air conditioner tuneup this summer.

Just had my furnace tune-up completed by Able Heating & Cooling. The process was great. I received a call the night before confirming my appointment. The next day, they had an earlier appointment available and called to see if I would like my appointment moved up. The technician arrived promptly at the new time. My technician was Armando, he did a great job. I have always had my furnace and air conditioner checked annually. Last year, being new to the area, I was less then impressed with the company I selected via a discount postcard. But with Able's technician Armando I had a great experience. He took the time to show me what he was doing and explained the what and why's. I was able to ask him numerous questions about my system and he took the time to answer everything. I am very pleased with my experience and will be utilizing Able Heating & Cooling along with recommending them to friends and neighbors. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

The service went well and was quick.

This system has been installed for about two years and functions beautifully. It is a split pump LG system consisting of three units in a two story house of 2350 sq feet. Both the air conditioning and heat system keep the house and its occupants quite comfortable. It was a good decision for us to have the system installed and Able did a fine job of explaining how it works as well as where to place the units.

I called Able for an estimate to have someone come out and take a look at our furnace and fireplace. They quoted me $88.00 (plus I had a coupon for $25 from Angie's List). They were great about getting someone out right away (they tried to get someone out the same day but someone was there within 24 hours). He got the furnace working (it was just that the knob for the natural gas had gotten bumped) and removed the air filters because they needed to be replaced. He told me I could replace them myself from Home Depot (cheaper than their's) and to get the same size filter that were already there. He made it sound easy so I figured I would be able to easily get the new filters in. He also turned on the gas fireplace in the living room since I didn't know how. He charged an extra $22 beyond what the quote was just to turn on the fireplace, even though the whole visit was not more than 15-20 minutes. THEN, when I bought the "correct" size filters from Home Depot, I spent almost an hour trying to shove them into place myself, my arms were all cut up, and in the end the filters just did NOT fit. I was so frustrated that I had to do all the hard work myself and that I had been charged extra money just to fire up the fireplace that I called back. The receptionist was extremely helpful and wanted to fix the problem. Not only did they refund me the money, but they sent another guy out to fix my smashed filter problem and explain everything to me. Armando (the second guy) was great and explained everything clearly to me, and he cut out the insulation lining in the furnace so that the filters would fit properly from now on. They did not charge for the second trip and replaced my smashed filters for free. I was very happy with the service in the end because they were very responsive to my negative experience which means I can trust them in the future. My only caution is to make sure you get a clear quote and know exactly what services will be covered by the quote and what will cost extra.

I called them in the morning and they were here that afternoon. He gave me heat right away and came and put the new part in the next day. They were very courteous.

Entire process of removing the old furnace and installing the new went smoothly.

Three filters and all furnaces were earlier checked out on 9/24/2012. When I had a question about anything I was always given an answer; that is saying that they give respect to all of their customers, because that is important to all customers.

I found about 2 gallons of water built up in my heating ducts underneath the house this summer and called Able to come out and figure out what was going on. Kelly came out and took a look at the system and quickly figured out that the A/C condensate drain was clogged, which was causing condensate to back up and drain into my vents. Kelly replaced the old drain trap (the part that was clogged) with a new, clear one that would allow us to see when there is build-up and easily clean it out. Kelly was very helpful and friendly and happily answered all of my questions. He thoroughly explained everything that was going on and how the system worked. He also checked the furnace drain to make sure that it wasn't clogged, and even made a quick fix to it that would allow it to drain better for us. Kelly was very professional and did a great job, and I would gladly call Able again.

The company sent over Armando and he was very professional and gave me tips on getting the most from my system as well as doing a thorough and quick job of the tune up. He pointed a few things out but no hard sell at all. Will call again.

Able sent Leland to my home in the early afternoon...just a few hours after I'd called. Leland did some troubleshooting and we started the AC up. Turns out the problem is likely in my thermostat in the house. Leland cleaned the coils and checked the refrigerant, gave me some pointers and was done in about 30 - 45 minutes. Great, efficient service and I was very happy they could come out the same day that I called.

They were very professional and did excellent work. This was a difficult job because our old furnace was under the house and they had to take it out piece by piece. We are now on their annual inspection visit list as well.

Able Heating's website promises full complete service from installing the system to handling permits and inspections and making sure the you have you tax rebates properly explained so you will reap the benefits. Our experience was akin to buying a furnace on Craigslist and having guys off the street install it. We received nothing for tax rebate info, We had to call the state to get the application and we still do not have the proper complete invoice require by the state. We missed out on an additional $150 credit for ducts tested a sealed because Mike Morgan of Able did not tell us about it. Able's website states "that as a customer, you're not responible for submitting these rebates; we will do the paperwork for you" B.S. After the installers left we have never heard a word from Anyone at Able. We called the county inspector to make sure there was permit and arrange for inspection. The thermostat that was installed is incredibly complicated and we given no instruction on it's use. We are trying to figure out ourselves. We had been customers since 1999. No longer.

Able quickly responded to my e-mail request to schedule an appointment to get a quote on an AC install. Got an Appt for a Saturday which was convenient. Jack came over and we went through what I was looking including how to deal with house being dry and stuffy in the winter. For the dry stuffiness we decided on a fresh air intake to try to bring in some fresh air and Jack felt a humidifier was overkill for our climate. Before leaving he gave me quotes for multiple options including heat pumps. There was no pressure to choose an option right then and there. Was able to get install scheduled in about a week which was pretty good considering it was the start of summer and they were pretty busy. For the most part the install was great. The install was done very neatly and you couldn?t even tell any work was done. My only complaint about the experience has to due with the fresh air intake. The installer was a bit of a curmudgeon. I guess there was a mistake and they did not have the measurement necessary to bring the right parts on the day the AC was installed. He complained about this mistake and also that someone called in sick so they didn?t have time to do it anyway (not sure which reason was the right one). He then started saying he didn?t see the point in installing this as it wasn?t necessary. I explained to him my house got dry in the winter and he basically dismissed me indicating that this didn?t happen in this climate. He also gave me no indication of when they would be able to do it and gave me a ?we?ll get to it when we get to it? attitude. I started getting the feeling he didn?t want to do it. I had to remind the office to get the installation scheduled which ended up getting rescheduled again for which I got 2 different reasons (in an e-mail they said they wanted to wait until after inspection and during a phone conversation they said it was because emergency service). Normally the rescheduling wouldn?t have bothered me but the installers attitude, the fact I had to request a new installation date, and the multiple reasons on both occasion for the cancelation is why I marked down the Professionalism and Promptness That being said the work was quality. The ladies in the Office and Jack the sales rep I dealt with were friendly so I do still recommend them with the above caveat.

Noticed water seeping from bottom of Furnace/AC system. It was mid-morning Saturday. Called Able Heating & Cooling who installed system several years ago and have done periodic "check-ups" ever since. Kelly White, owner/manager, answered phone. (It is not unusual to get Kelly directly- a true to life "hands-on owner/manager!" Kelly said he would have his tech, Armando there within 20 minutes. Armando arrived in 15 minutes. Armando assessed the situation quickly and thoroughly. He clearly explained the problem and suggested installing visible (clear plexi-tubing) and trap system to provide ongoing access to clearing "gunk" build up in the line and thus avoiding future back-up of condensate water. All was accomplished in less than one hour! $207.00 Able Heating and Cooling has been reliable and efficient for many years. Best of all, the "boss" is available to talk to and the staff delivers what the Boss promises: Fast, efficient service.

I'd saved a postcard from them (from a valuepac) . Little did I know that my furnace would stop working within a few days. The postcard listed a number of things to check before calling for service...I did each and knew I needed more help. The service person arrived the following morning close to time they said would. I have a very old furnace but he was able to replace the starter switch within a very short time. I was very pleased with the prompt service and the way the serviceman explained what he was doing. I would also note that the customer service lady was especially friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Able Heating & Cooling to anyone.

When I came home discovered a warm house. Did some diagnosis of my own and concluded the blower fan was not turning on. Figured out I didn't want to tackle this myself, so I checked Angie's List for a service company. Picked Able because they were hightly rated and close by. Called first thing in the morning and was able to setup an appointment for that afternoon. Service technician was late in arriving due to length of previous appointment. He immediately diagnosed the problem as being the blower fan motor and began the work to replace it. He had the replacement part with him and so was able to fix this and get the system up and running. in about an hour. About a week later the A/C stopped working again. I called Able again explained that it appeared to be a different problem. This was Friday afternoon and they had someone at our home within a couple of hours. Technician diagnosed the problem as a shorted relay switch and recognized that it wasn't needed in my setup because of I have a digital thermastat, so they just eliminated it and had the system up and operating within minutes. I was impressed that Able responded so quickly and was willing to work after hours to complete the service calls. In the second case they clearly took responsibility to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. Well done!

Called Able mid-morning and a technician came out about 3:30 in the afternoon the same day. After doing a few checks he determined that there possibly was not enough air flow through the outside heat exchanger and that too much refrigerant in the system was causing the pressure to go too high which tripped a switch on the compressor. He flushed out the debris from the cooling coils and removed a small amount of refrigerant to bring the refrigerant pressures within specifications. He also checked the temperature coming out of the indoor vents to make sure the system was cooling the air within specifications. From start to finish the job took less than 1 hour. Of the 3 firms that I have used to service my heat pump over the past 2 years, Able was by far the most responsive, professional and knowledgeable, and had the best pricing. I will definitely use them again when needed and recommend them to others.

I called in the morning and I was able to get an appointment within the day. Service was good. He was able to determine what was causing the bug step by step. Turns out the thermostat was fried. Answered all my questions and replaced it and got the house cooled again.

I shall use Able again whenever a need arises. The final price was after the Angie's list discount.

I called many companies about the air conditions and so far, they are the ones that have given me best information. They are really working out really great and they handle my rentals with no problems. Always come here completely on time.

I called Able Heating /cooling in Tigard Oregon, at about 4:45pm and spoke with Dolly. She had great customer service and was very nice on the phone. Companies forget that the first point of contact for any company is essential. If I call a company and they do not have a very customer orient person, I usually don't buy their services or product. Anyway I called this company on a Friday almost at 5pm, most employees, are not willing to go the extra mile for any customers at this time, they are only thinking of the weekend. However Able heating N cooling its different, The employee Dolly was rely nice and told me, that they are busy but she will search to see if she can get a service person to come to my home on Saturday. I know most of the companies probably were getting busy because the forecast for this weekend: Hight temperature in the 90s for this weekend. In the mean time she gave me some tips to check to see if is the unit is working properly. She told me she would call me asap and within 7 minutes she call me to let me know she can send a service person to my house today Friday Wow! that's what I call customer service!, I told her that was great. One thing to observe is the fact that when I called her it was almost 5pm the time they closed and she called me after they had already close for the week anyway. She was able to get Leland, the service person, to come out on Friday, and he was professional and was able to fix our heating/cooling system. He was down to earth and personable, and told me that heat/pumb outside was not the problem. He checked it, and everything seem ok with the unit outside, so probably was the thermostat or the Furnace inside. He found the problem in the furnace inside the house and also the thermostat one cable was disconnect in the furnace and the thermostat had also the same problem. He replace both cables and the unit began to work great. This was a good experience with this company and with Angies list, because I just signed up today and I got this referral from here and this company had great reviews!Thank you Able Heating/cooling company and thank you Angies List.

Able Heating & Cooling sent Leland out to figure out why my furnace stopped working on the day I called. He spent 30 minutes going through various evaluations. He explained to me exactly what the problem was and my options for fixing it. I needed a new heat exchanger, the most expensive part to replace and one that had to be ordered from the company due to the model of my furnace. The estimates about the time it would take to get the part and the cost to do the work were accurate and reasonable. When the part arrived, Leland spent 1-2 hours replacing the part and took time to explain to me what to expect as the furnace started again. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and upbeat about getting the work done. The office staff kept me informed about the arrival of the part. Leland was very knowledgeable and provided me information about the current furnace and the quality of various furnace makers.

I chose them because they seemed to have a pretty good unit. The installation guys were not that sharp. They were messy. They did not really do any detail work. The basic job was alright, but they left a lot of debris.
