The workman was prompt and did a great job of answering my many questions. There were several repairs that I thought needed to be done; he told me it would incur unnecessary expense since there was no need for that service. I was very impressed that he had my best interest at heart.

Mike from Able Heating showed up promptly for bidding our job. He was knowledgeable and presented us with a large variety of options for replacing our old oil furnace with a new gas unit. It was a big project but it was done quickly and efficiently. We had no difficulties with the installation, timing or the unit itself. They even took care of making certain the the gas lines were okayed with the gas company, the lines run and that we received our rebates for efficiency. Now that the unit is installed we can't imagine being without it. It heats, switches to air conditioning, filtering air and even reports the inside and outside temperatures. It also controls the alarm system. We never have to touch the control unit which we easily programmed. Highly recommend Able and its staff! Great experience!

To say that Able Heating & Cooling is the ONLY choice for my heating & cooling needs in the future, would be an understatement! Originally, Kelly (owner) came to our house to discuss heat pumps vs. Air conditioners. When we came to the end of our discussion, we were surprised when Kelly recommended that we go with the air conditioner rather than the more expensive heat pump!! Not many businesses would have done this! They would have taken the opportunity to sell the higher priced unit! Regardless!! Kelly explained that, since we already had a high efficiency furnace, that it would be a better & more efficient choice to go with the air conditioner instead! When Able arrived promptly at the agreed upon time, the guys went right to work! They did a very professional job. Making sure that not only was the air conditioner was installed properly but, that any and all air leaks were sealed up! AND, they also made sure that everything looked nice too!! Another thing that most companies don't do!! And, before leaving, they made sure we understood how to operate everything!! They were extremely thorough!! Unfortunately, a couple of days later, I had to call Able & tell them that the air conditioner wasn't working!! VERY concerned about this, they came right out! The serviceman quickly discovered that there were some issues with the new unit (as happens sometimes)!! They could have just repaired the problems and been on their way. But, NOT Able Heating & Cooling! Instead, they came back the next morning and totally replaced the defective unit completely!! Kelly had told the manufacturer that it was unacceptable to his company to just repair the problems! He felt that something brand new needed to work like brand new!! Again, above & beyond what most companies would do!! As you can tell, I'm sold on Able Heating & Cooling as my heating & cooling company of choice!! Came out on time, told us what was wrong, fixed it and it was all within a few hours. Would recommend them to others in the area.

Very thorough, detailed and professional bid. We very nearly chose them, but their premium brand, Maytag, doesn't yet show up on Consumer Reports reliability surveys, and their bid price was a little high. All the same we recommend Able and would consider them in the future.

Although there were some installation difficulties due to the location of the old furnace and heat pump, and the size of the new air handler, they made adjustments, worked long hours and made sure they did not leave me without heat or a/c overnight. My heat pump is on the roof of my garage, thus they had to get a machine able to lift that high to removed the old heat pump and install the new one. Then, the location of the old air handler/furnace being in my attic of all places was logistically a nightmare since the new equipment was larger than the space allowed. Not to mention there was no floor in the attic, but they also took care of that. I am very pleased with their persistence to make the system work to my liking, their quick response to both my phone calls and emails, as well as making sure I am a satisfied customer, which I most definitely am. Sure, not everything went smoothly, but in my situation, I did not expect it due to the location of both the old heat pump and old air handler/furnace. So, what was supposed to be a one day job overflowed into the next, but no surprise. This is kind of a "Murphy's Law ' house anyway. The installers were superb. Attention to detail was remarkable. Both Mike from sales and Kelly (the owner) are wonderful people to work with. I highly recommend this company. Equipment Update 7/22/13: This system does a fabulous job of heating my home, I give it an A. However, as far as Air Conditioning it is challenged. I like a comfortable 71-72 degrees in my home when it is hot outside and for the most part as long as the outside temp does not reach over 90 the system can handle it. What it cannot handle is being set below 68 degrees in the evening, or anytime for that matter. I like my house quite cool when I sleep, but this system will freeze up if I set it at 67 or below. So, if you want a system that gets super cold when you sleep this may not be for you. It's not that Abel Heating hasn't done their very best to accommodate me because they have, it's the equipment and how it is made.

Leland went right to work. I felt confident that he would be fair and that he knew what he was doing. So far my experience with this heating contractor has been A quality in the three times that they have serviced my furnace since 2010.

He did exactly what he said he would do and did a wonderful job.

Leland came out right on time ( between 8:39 & 9:00) flipped the power braker and then inspected the AC unit. He explained that some units have protective swithches for when the unit is turned on and they are covered. Lucky for me, this was the case and he did a few things and Bingo the fan can back on. I have used the AC once since then and it cooled the house perfectly! Leland was very professional and explained everything did did as he went along. I would definitely have him back again!

The person was at home within 2 1/2 hours of our request for service. The repair was finished within a hour. My contact with Able Heating and Cooling was positive.

They were really thorough and really good. They were recommended to me. They completed all the work in two days. They are great with follow up. They are really good about making sure that everything is ok with you. They are really personable. Very informative about the units that were going in. I would highly recommend them. We use them for routine checks and maintenance. They are always very punctual.

Extremely professional, helpful, informative, neat and generally nice guys. Kelly came back with his co-worker the next day to sort the problem out. Both were so nice to have in the house. Our furnace works better than before. We probably spent about $500 more than we wanted to do, but with their advice, our furnace will probably have a longer life and the air in the house is so much cleaner! The gentleman was pleasant and professional, and his explanation of the problems was clear and concise.

Our furnace was making a funny noise, and it was "short cycling" (turning on, then off, then on, then off, etc.) We called Able, thinking that we would need a tune-up, or maybe a repair. Able told us we could either repair the old furnace, or get a new one. We decided that overall it would be less of a hassle for us to get a new one. So we did. They were able to get one installed for us within a day. Able let us decide whether to buy a new furnace or repair the old one.

We found Able and Heating through Angies list and decided to use them because they had all A ratings. The initial service call was to look at our Trane heater for an annual inspection which was long over due. Armando arrived on time, did the service and recommended to my husband that we add a damper and a scoop that would make the heating and cooling of our home more efficient. He arrived the following week again right on time, did the work and wow what a difference! Now my husband and I don't battle over turning the thermostat up and down, we set it and leave it, the house is evenly heated. Armando also took the time to explain how the heating system worked regarding distribution throughout the house. We've already pre-scheduled an appointment for them to perform the annual inspection on the AC when it gets warmer. Able Heating will always be our "go to company" for our heating and cooling needs. I couldn't be happier with their service!

Kelly was prompt punctual, and courteous, and clearly knows his stuff. He gave me what he said was a competitive bid and I agreed to go forward with him. He gave excellent customer service as well and let us borrow his heaters for the weekend for free while we were without heat. However, upon calling a small, independent shop, they were able to beat his price for the same furnace by quite a bit. This was pretty shocking to me and when I asked him he said they have a lot of overhead and can't compete on price with one man shops, so I decided to go with the smaller shop.

Calling around about exhaust venting repair and upgrade services for my home. Gentleman who answered provided great advice for my particular situation, and made a recommendation on whom to approach and how.

They were really good. It was a higher end furnace with a Hepa filter. They were knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. They bent over backwards with me on financing which was incredible because my financing fell through at the last minute. They told me I could pay them when I could pay them. I liked the electrician that they subcontracted with; he was very nice. They were very efficient and courteous. I didn't have any problems with them being in my house because I am a single person. They did everything on target. I would absolutely use them again.

One of my fireplaces produced a very low flame. Had a fireplace company come out to service the unit. They supposedly cleaned out the unit and then replaced the control unit/valve to the tune of a couple of hundred dollars and a service call. This did produce a slightly larger flame. However, since they couldn't fix the flame issue they recommended that I call an HVAC company to have them check the line feeding the fireplace. Able Heating and cooling came out to take a look. The technician immediately identified the issue, a clogged burner orifice. A few minutes and $85 later I had a fully functioning fireplace. Next call will be to the fireplace "experts" to complain about their incompetence.

Fixed the problem and made cost saving suggestions

(I was extremely satisfied with their work and have already recommended them to others.) The story: I noticed heater was starting to fail (kept turning on and off, didn't maintain heat fully, although was still "mostly providing heat") on the sunday night before monday (Christmas eve). Called first thing in the morning on Christmas Eve. Had useful discussion with business owner, and was convinced that the service tech needed to come out to investigate. The tech was out in a very timely fashion, and determined that the circuit board needed replacement. He located a replacement and fixed it. (At first, he thought that those circuit boards were on back order, and he went back to the office to get me a space heater, the loan of which would be provided until the fix was completed. But they were able to locate a circuit board in the office, so he was able to come back and fix it.) A week later (early morning on monday, New Years eve) the furnace stopped heating the house entirely. They dashed on out that morning, and fixed it in 10 minutes. The new circuit board has a useful error code readout, which indicated that the problem was a routine small fix ('blow out this little feeder tube which has gotten clogged with dust') so it was a very easy fix. I was not charged for this follow-up call, even though the problem was not clearly related to the repair which they did the week before. Very impressed by the quick and professional service, especially given the difficult scheduling (both vacation type days). In fact the tech told me that the useful discussion I had had with the business owner, was with the owner while the owner was on vacation but still fielding calls for christmas eve. Was also impressed by the loan of the space heater offer.

The repair work went well. The updated cost estimate was something of a shock. I didn't have time to get mutlitple estimates, but I suspect that this cost was reasonable.
