Services we offer

Waterproof Basements and Crawl Spaces using Basement Systems products, Air Sanitizing, Air Purifying, & Mold Proofing.

Services we don't offer

We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces. Science shows that fiberglass that is open to the elements, such as in a crawlspace, absorbs the water, causing it to hold moisture against the wood, leading to mold and mildew. We will not install this as it causes home integrity issues in the long run.

Description of Work: My sump pump is giving off warning beeps. I called at eight this morning and was told they would call back to schedule. No call. Called nine. No call back. Called at ten. No call back. I notice in the reviews that there are more F ratings in the more recent years. Quality seems to be falling off. I am very unhappy right now, but stuck because the repairs are under warranty. People need to check the recent reviews.

Description of Work: They were very busy so I had to wait 2 months for an estimator to come out and see my flooded basement. When they did come out they were very professional and thorough but too expensive and they tried to sell me a sump pump, which I decided not to get.

Thank you so much for your great review! Is there any way I could set up with you to take some after photos of your job? We would really appreciate it.

The work was done as agreed to. Since the home is now in escrow, we won't have a chance to check out the performance of the sump pump, but it did its job under test conditions and I have every confidence that it will work as advertised.

Initial installation had poor workmanship: broken sump cover, improperly installed vent covers, poorly taped vapor barrier. I was surprised as I had checked references, the CCB, etc. While I would have liked it done right the first time, even good companies can mess up, and John's Waterproofing did rectify all the problems. I also wound up not using the vent covers. I would suggest that customers clarify how workers will handle obstacles in the crawl (support posts, grade changes, piping) when installing the vapor barrier. Also, be aware that humidity control may still be necessary after installation. Note: while I rate the initial installation as "FAIR", the follow-up work was quite "GOOD".

They did a terrific job. They came when they said they were going to. They brought a crew in and got the job done quickly. They had to jack hammer in several places. They cleaned up after themselves and I have recommended them to several people. They also followed up with you to make sure everything was OK.

Company was prompt, and they took pains not to soil the rooms they traversed to get to the trap door leading to the crawl space. Men were courteous. I had numerous estimates from companies who proposed solutions ranging from putting French drains outside house to putting radial drains inside with grading. All cost was about $10,000.
Description of Work: They installed a French drain around inside perimeter of crawl space under house, a space that enclosed 1850 square feet. They also installed a sump pump.

The leak problem was solved!!!! The drainage system is out of sight, and so far, so good. The crew did leave a mess behind though. However, they knocked $300 off the bill... so I was pleased with their work overall.

Our house was built in 1890. The foundation is an old foundation that was poured in layers. Every year we had some pooling in the basement. It was much worse on winters with heavy rain. This rainy winter we had NO water in our basement! All of our friends with old basements were not so lucky. They arrived on time and were very professional. They estimated 2 days and they were done a little early. Note: Jack hammers are VERY loud. Our house is so small there was no place to put out cats to keep them away from the noise so I left them at the vets office. Concrete dust is REAL messy. Do as much as you can to protect it from drifting. They tried to keep the basement door closed, I should have sealed off the hall that leads to the rest of the house.
Description of Work: Basically they jack hammer out the inside perimeter of your basement. They install a drain that sort of looks like a gutter around the entire perimeter of the basement. The drain was then connected to the existing basement drain. They then pour concrete back over the top. To prepare for this. We had to move everything away from the wall so they have at least 3 feet of space to work. Our furnace and water heater are against the wall in the basement. We paid someone to disconnect the furnace and hot water heater and move it so they could install the drain behind it. (Which of course is the place that leaked the worst)

Excellent job. Initial system install got 90% of the water out of the basement but some was still getting in. John's Waterproofing found that water was also coming in from a different spot and made the additional repair without charge. Our basement has been bone-dry ever since.

I CALLED SEVERAL COMPANIES, BUT THIS IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT RESPONDED. THEY CAME OUT TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM, BUT WE DID NOT RECEIVE AN ESTIMATE FROM THEM. THEY CALLED ME THAT FRIDAY (HE CAME OUT ON MONDAY, NOV 7) AND SAID THEY CANNOT SCHEDULE ME UNTIL THEY GET A SIGNED CONTRACT BACK (WE STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE). WE MAILED THE INFORMATION BACK TO SECURE THE JOB ABOUT A WEEK AGO, THEY THEN SCHEDULED ME FOR THE 22ND OF NOVEMBER. THEY CALLED LAST FRIDAY (NOV 18TH) AND SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO POSTPONE THE WORK UNTIL NEXT MONTH (I HAD ALREADY SENT BACK THE PROPOSAL ACCEPTING THE DATE THEY SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 22ND - TOMORROW). THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO COME OUT EARLY DECEMBER (1ST WEEK) BECAUSE THEY HAD SOME COMMERCIAL JOBS THAT CAME UP. WE STILL HAVE AN ACTIVE LEAK THAT REALLY CAN'T BE PUT OFF. THE WEATHER IS DRY FOR NOW, BUT I AM NOT REAL HAPPY WITH JOHN'S WATERPROOFING FOR PUTTING ME OFF FOR A LARGER JOB.

We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces. Science shows that fiberglass that is open to the elements, such as in a crawlspace, absorbs the water, causing it to hold moisture against the wood, leading to mold and mildew. We will not install this as it causes home integrity issues in the long run.
