Services we offer

Waterproof Basements and Crawl Spaces using Basement Systems products, Air Sanitizing, Air Purifying, & Mold Proofing.

Services we don't offer

We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces. Science shows that fiberglass that is open to the elements, such as in a crawlspace, absorbs the water, causing it to hold moisture against the wood, leading to mold and mildew. We will not install this as it causes home integrity issues in the long run.

They were on time and they did a nice job walling off the rest of the basement so they wouldn't make a mess. They cleaned up every mess they made. They stuck with their estimate and didn't change.
Description of Work: The back side of our duplex had a leak and we called him. He came out and waterproofed our basement and fixed the leak.

It was real good, they finished the work in one day. They raked the dirt over. They cleaned up their mess. They filled the holes back in and leveled them off at the top.
Description of Work: I had a foundation that was cracked in two places and it had leaked several years ago. They dug down along the foundation and repaired the cracks and put a protective cover over it.

Workers arrived ready to work. They used plastic to keep their path from outside to basement clean. The whole job lasted 7 hours and they kept us posted on progress as we had requested. New floor drain looks great. Concrete was swept clean. Professional and able to answer all our questions.
Description of Work: John's installed a drain around the inside wall of our basement and wrapped the walls to waterproof the area.

We originally called John's Waterproofing last year for an estimate to correct some basement water issues were were having. The bid was quite high, so we decided to go a different route. However, we were still interested in having a 2nd pump and battery back up installed. Although we are very pleased with the outcome, we were surprised and disappointed with the lack of follow up when we decided not to go with the full solution. Now that the work is done, we are amazed at how quiet the new pump is and are very happy with how everything is working. Less then a week later, we had a power outage and the battery back up kicked in and everything worked as planned. The peace of mind it provides is immeasurable.
Description of Work: They added a 2nd sump pump with alternate drainage line, battery back up and lid to our existing basement pump system.

After having a leak in our foundation for the 3rd year in a row, we decided to call Johns Waterproofing. This is a finished bedroom in a daylight basement so a sump pump was not my first choice. Other companies had quoted me $20,000 and could not guarantee their work would solve the problem. So far everything is working. We are leaving the room unfinished until April when we are through the rainy season. We will finish room with a built-in nightstand over the equipment. Seems to be a good solution and so far it is working just fine.
Description of Work: Installed sump pump in finished basement. Were careful to cover vents, carpets against dust and dirt. Cleaned up; you never knew they were there.

We looked at the problem areas in the basement and walked around the house to examine grading of the yard, downspouts, and areas with pooling in the yard. He suggested that I should have my downspouts re-connected to the city drainage system, or alternatively, attaching an underground pipe with an outlet 15 feet from the foundation at each downspout. He also showed me where a trench drain could be put to manage some puddling, but these jobs are too small for this company. He left a brochure with information about these solutions.
Description of Work: Mr. Vue came by and looked at the water coming into my basement. He suggested several solutions, none of which are within the scope of the company's services. Mr. Vue was prompt (even early), friendly, and helpful.

To vent and also for air intake for the recent furnace installation, the furnace people needed to drill through the foundation. I was getting water coming in from where they had put the pipes to the outside and it was running down the wall and pooling on the floor at times. The furnace installation company tried to fix it but failed. I felt unsure of their final "fix" because of their previous failed fix. I called John's Waterproofing to get the experts in. (I had read such good things here about them). Larry came out and assessed the problem and told me what they would use to fix it. It sounds as if it would be a fairly simple thing. That was reassuring. He was also very honest in saying that it was a small thing to correct, but that they had a $500.00 minimum charge plus travel charge--and they are in Silverton. So I passed on using their company. It's still not fixed, but now I know what needs to be done and have a good general assessment of the situation.
Description of Work: None. I was seeking help for water leaking into my basement because of two pipes that were drilled in my foundation because of the installation of a new gas furnace.

I received more then my moneys worth. I didn't get them through Angie's List, came highly recommended through another magazine. What I like most was that they had some surprises; the work was more than they expected and that they still charged me the same as my estimate. No complaints on their work I would recommend this contractor to anyone

I was amazed at the speed with which the four men worked. They completed all the work in one day, taking about 10 hours to do it. They worked fast and, as far as I could tell, took only one short lunch break. The men were courteous and the crew supervisor patiently answered any questions I had. The company guarantees their work and in the intervening five months there has been no water seepage into the basement. At this time, at least, it appears that our basement water leakage problems of many years has been corrected. The sump pump, when it works, can barely be heard. I am very satisfied with the work this company did for me and I would recommend them to others having similar water leakage problems.
Description of Work: In February of this year, 2007, four people from John's Waterproofing installed a water-guard system around the perimeter of my 500 sf unfinished basement and expelled water collected via the floor drain. They found that a sump pump was required and installed it. The applied Xypex on three large cracks in the wall. They also installed 18' of traffic trench drain in the driveway. After finishing they did a total cleanup and hauled away all debris.

Drain lines were not put where they were supposed to be. They had to come back and redo them. The sump pump was not plugged in even though an outlet was installed prior to it being installed. We discovered it wasn't on during a down pour. When I tried to call them it took three days to get a response. Our television cable was cut during the drain line trenching.

If the patching of the concrete cracks are not satisfactory over time, we will hire John's to install the Waterguard system. But that system is not warranted at this time.
Description of Work: We had a few cracks in our concrete basement where moisture was detected. There was no running water or active leaks in our basement. Our basement is a daylight basement that is totally finished. We bought the house this past summer and it was our first winter living in it. It was built in the 1940s. Steve with John's Waterproofing was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very good about answering all of my questions and came out a second time to answer my additional questions. In the end, we decided to not use John's at this time because Steve suggested installing a WaterGuard system which would require the use of jackhammers around the perimeter concrete floor of our basement and then install an underground drainage system. After a lot of research and discussion with other waterproofing experts, I believe his suggested approach was ''overkill'' for the situation. I believe John's is a good company with experienced professionals, but it was unwarranted work in our situation.

Overall, he was very professional, helpful and honest. I felt very much that I could trust him and he was giving me his honest professional opinion. I don't know anything about basements, but he was happy to educate me and I wasn't at all worried about being taken advantage of. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!
Description of Work: We have had problems with musty odors in our basement. I called John's based on their high rating on Angie's List. Their representative, Larry, figured out that the problem was likely an improperly installed window well. He told me how to fix it and volunteered to come take a look at it once we have it dug out. He also advised me to get a humidistat to determine whether we have high humidity levels and require a dehumidifier. He advised me of the options that his company offered if we did have a more significant problem, but there was definitely no pressure.

The job went very well. They had anticipated the job would take one day but it ended up taking 1 1/2 days. They did not seem to be bothered by the extra time it was taking. The work crew was very pleasant, seemed to be very knowledgeable, and were professional in their conduct and in the performance of their work.
Description of Work: An upgraded sump pump and drainage pipe were installed, a WaterGuard waterproofing system was installed along the entire west side of the basement wall and was connected to the new drainage pipe. Also, a downspout was rerouted and connected to the new pipe so that all the water drains into the creek.

I was very pleased with their work. There was a long delay before they could get here, but that was a result of the weather. The initial representative was very knowledgeable and credible. They showed up on the day and time they promised, did the work very quickly, cleaned up as much as they could and did not damage any of our finished walls, which is quite a trick with the jack hammers they had to use. Highly recommended!!!

They did excellent, fast work. The crew took two days to jackhammer the perimeter of the basement, install the drain, put up the vapor barrier, and pour cement over the drains. They left the basement cleaner than they found it. They also removed some old oil lines (that ran to the decommissioned oil tank). The team was very polite and thorough, not hesitating to ask questions. I work from the home; the noise was surprisingly mild.

We had some original waterproofing work done on the exterior by a contractor (Dave Lazon). The work was not effective, and the sump was installed incorrectly. When we tried to get him to come back, he did not respond. Anyway, I found this company on your list and contacted them. They did everything they said they would. So far, we have had no further leaking in the basement.

After a number of unsuccessful efforts to address the problem of our wet beach house basement, we were frankly a little wary that John's could deliver on their written promise to solve this problem. But believing that we had already tried and failed with every other option, we took the leap. The ultimate test came in the fall of 2006, soon after installation, when on a single day, over 10 inches of rain fell at our home. The rain came down, it came through the walls, it was even pushed up through some cracks in the floor. But John's systems; the wall gutters, the raised floor, and the AC/DC sump systems worked flawlessly. Short of a tsunami, we believe that the problem of water in our basement is finally solved. John's takes a ''go with the flow'' approach to diverting and redirecting seepage in a manner that allows us to create a permanently dry finished basement in our home.

They came out and did a survey and estimate. Later I changed my mind about which product I wanted installed, and they immediately re-did the estimate and sent me another contract. When the proposal was being reviewed, they decided they needed another look at the proposed drainage area and they came right out for that, too. They were a bit slow with the follow up of scheduling an actual date, but once scheduled they were right on time and worked quickly and competently. Workers were polite and responsive to questions.
Description of Work: They installed the Cleanspace Wall System and Water Guard Super Sump in one corner of my basement. Despite all my previous efforts, I was never able to completely eliminate a leak in that corner and over the past few years I've had to put up with a wet basement and even some ruined articles. Our Fall rains have just started in earnest, and so far so good.

Visited us on a Saturday and told us that we may not need their services. Gave us a list of alternative, cheap options that we could do ourselves. We'll revisit the leaking issue in a year's time, and if the cheaper options don't seem to have completely remedied the situation, we'll gladly have John's Waterproofing back out to see what they suggest. Very trustworthy company that will tell you what's best, even if it means they don't get your business.

They came when arranged to give an estimate. Prior to the estimate they sent me written material that was very helpful in discussing the bid. They set up a date to do the job and came again when arranged. They were able to do the job in one day, which was a nice surprise. The crew was very nice and did a great job. They had to jackhammer out along the basement wall to put in the new drainpipe system. They did this and put in the system with a new closed sump pump system and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves even though it was very dusty work. They removed all the old material and re-cemented my basement where needed. Overall, I am very pleased with the work so far. It remains to be seen if the water that has run through my basement every winter will be stopped, but I am confident that it will. They guarantee their work for the life of the structure while I live here and 10 years transferable if I move, so I am pleased with that also. I found them excellent overall.

We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces.
