Services we offer
Waterproof Basements and Crawl Spaces using Basement Systems products, Air Sanitizing, Air Purifying, & Mold Proofing.
Services we don't offer
We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces. Science shows that fiberglass that is open to the elements, such as in a crawlspace, absorbs the water, causing it to hold moisture against the wood, leading to mold and mildew. We will not install this as it causes home integrity issues in the long run.
I've used them before. They also do French drains. They are really good and efficient. They give you the best deal and they have a lifetime guarantee. This is the third house that I used them to put in an inside drain system. I always seem to get daylight basements that get water in them. I've never had a problem with them. They have been very good to me and I have recommended them to others. They are very prompt and get their work done. You could not tell that they dug in my backyard in any of my houses. They cover over the basement concrete or bricks and it looks like a wall. They are very, very good at what they do.
Description of Work: I used John's Waterproofing to remove water from my basement. They put an inside drain system in and also they put a drain outside. They had to dig a ditch inside my basement on three sides and they put a battery operated sump pump in.

It went great. They said they would arrive between 8:00 and 8:30am, the came at 8. They said it would take 2 to 3 hours to finish, it took 2.5. The end result looks great! The crawl space is completely sealed and the moisture barrier makes a huge difference.

John's waterproofing came out with a crew to inspect. Although I thought their bid was high, I subsequently received 2 other bids which came in even higher. Called John's to do the work. They squeezed me in during a very busy time and completed the work on time and within their bid. Also, their team laid plastic down in my home to avoid getting mud or dirt in the home, which was much appreciated because it was raining like crazy. Their work also came with the best warranty. Overall very satisfied.
Description of Work: Had water in the crawl space. John's installed pipe and dug trench to capture water. Installed sump pump to deliver water to low-point drain.

They were very friendly and professional. We were happy with the experience. They gave us all of our options. They broke it all down for us since we didn't know anything about basement waterproofing. They gave us options with different prices. They also had a video that they showed us to help inform us.

The representative for the quote came out promptly. I was able to schedule an appointment at a convenient time just a few days after calling. The workers were able to come out within a couple weeks. They showed up a little early, but not too early and started right away. My home was clean after they left. What was supposed to be a two-day job was accomplished in one day. They went above and beyond to ensure my new waterproofing system would not be unduly taxed by re-routing some of my gutter downspouts. The workers were professional and did a great looking job.

The 3 man crew arrived on time, just as promised and installed a battery backup sump pump. It is a very clean installation so you really don't see inside the sump pump and cemented around the edges. If power goes off a second pump kicks in using the battery. Battery is constantly being charged, if 1st pump is overwhelmed, the 2nd pump kicks in. This gives us peace of mind should the power go off, which it has in the past during a rainy storm. They really did an outstanding job on the catch basins, they really know how to install these so they won't get plugged up by placing gavel around them so the water floats up into the basin. They completed all the work in under 4 hours, very professional, and will use them in the future for maintenace check on the sump pump. They use the top of the line sump pumps, and after having two flooded basements (1000 sq ft), it is worth the money and especially the peace of mind, especially when we are away from the house.
Description of Work: Had New Battery Backup Sump Pump Installed and 3 Outside Catch Basins Piped to the street after basement flooded through basement door on a couple of occasions. Catch Basins keep water away from the door and move the water to the street. They updated a previous basin so it would do a better job of moving water away from the house. Catch basin in door well also installed in case the other 2 Catch Basins fail. They installed 2 10' pipes to connect the basins to the 2 basins already installed but not working properly. They made sure all the basin flowed to the street with a water test using hose.

I had the project done shortly before Thanksgiving 08 and waited until it had rained (and snowed substantially) to report. I am pleased to report we have had no further puddling or even dampness on the carpet where the problem was occurring. The crew showed up on time, was careful of our existing landscape, worked tirelessly and finished the job including clean up as promised. I couldn't be happier with the service and wouldn't hesitate to use them should we spring another leak somewhere else in the future.
Description of Work: Waterproof leak in basement. We had a 2-4' wide puddling in our basement floor about 5' from the wall every time it rained hard. Robin examined the walls and window near the leak both inside and out and gave us a detailed bid that involved excavating along the foundation of our 1938 house about 8' long and 4-5' deep (daylight basement) sealing the wall with a paraseal system and replacing the old broken tile drain with a French style drain pipe below the slab of the house. They also installed a 30' discharge line to a bank allowing the water to slowly gravitate down our embankment.

In early November 2008, Tim Davis came out to my home to check the basement and come up with possible solutions to the severe leaking problem. He spent 2 hours carefully analyzing the problem and then did a proposal with full drawings. He also gave me a complete folder and booklet about the work to be done as well as other work the company does. He even gave a list of references which I contacted; a week later I decided to go with the company. In early December, a crew of workers came and did the job. They kindly moved some things I was not able to do and then they jackhammered all around the basement and laid down the drain system, sump pump, and then covered it with concrete. They installed several WaterGuard Ports throughout the basement.
Description of Work: I have had leaking problems in my basement for the last 7 years since living here. It is a family home which has always had problems; various methods were employed, even a French drain about 10 years ago, but still there was some leaking. This year it started to get worse, so I decided to take serious measures. There were several things done: installing full perimeter drain waterguard system in an unfinished basement; installed new ultra sump pump with battery back-up system, installed drain line with outside landscape bubbler; installed FloodRing Water Tank Protection System, and a WellDuct which is a window well leakage protection system.

Unfortunately, if the man I talked to at John's is right, fixing the problem would cost in the neighborhood of $5,000. He did offer to come out and take a look at my house. Of course this would have been free and he did not claim to know for certain what the problem was without taking a look at it. But I am already spending almost $9,000 to install a new heat pump. Since the heat pump installers told me they can elevate the heat pump (the part installed inside the house) several inches above the basement floor, I chose not to correct the leaking basement problem at this time.
Description of Work: My basement leaks when it rains hard. Because I'm having a brand new heat pump installed I talked to someone at John's Waterproofing to explore what might be the problem and how much it might cost to correct the problem. The man I talked to at John's seemed very knowledgeable. He explained what often caused leaky basements in houses as old as mine (originally built in 1895). What he said made perfect sense. He sounded like he really knew what he was talking about.

I was given a estimate of $4500, but when I showed an estimate from other company they lowered price by almost $1000. They claim they are the best and hence charges are high. Even $3572 is still high by almost $1000 from other company who gave me the quote but I still got the work done as they were highly rated. Quality of work-no water now in crawl space, future will tell better how good the system is that they have installed (can't really tell today whether it was worth paying extra cost).

The overall experience was professional. I liked the information they provided before the estimate. Larry was on time, professional, direct about what he thought my basement would need (and not need) in order to be refinished and waterproofed.
Description of Work: I had an estimate done for basement waterproofing by John's Waterproofing Company about a year ago. My basement is about 985 square feet and at this time only has some slight weeping on two walls. I wanted to get estimates done so I would have an idea of how much it would cost to waterproof and finish my basement when I am able to afford to.

After discovering that the previous owner of the house did not take care of the existing water-leaking issue with the basement, we sought out to get four estimates. The price quotes ranged from $1800-$10,000. John's was the last company we received an estimate from based on a recommendation from our realtor. We went with John's because we found them to be both knowledgeable and reasonable, plus they had a warranty that covers the life of the system, so it would be transferable if we were to ever sell our home. They were in and out, and finished the job in the time they had said they would.

We absolutely trust this company. They really made a huge difference when it came to keeping our basement dry and mold free. We had a "swimming pool" in our basement and it needed to be pumped out and something had to be done to keep it from flooding again. We have a great basement now, thanks to John's Waterproofing.
Description of Work: They specialize in totally dry foundations and basements using a anti-microbial/anti-bacterial, dry industrial moisture barrier that replaces the 3 ply black plastic that used to be used. They also trenched the inside of the foundation that included a 10 year warranty. A sump pump was installed along with a humidifier to keep it dry.
