Services we offer

Waterproof Basements and Crawl Spaces using Basement Systems products, Air Sanitizing, Air Purifying, & Mold Proofing.

Services we don't offer

We do not put fiberglass insulation in crawlspaces. Science shows that fiberglass that is open to the elements, such as in a crawlspace, absorbs the water, causing it to hold moisture against the wood, leading to mold and mildew. We will not install this as it causes home integrity issues in the long run.

They were wonderful. They do a really good job. First of all they explain exactly what they are going to do. They give us options and we choose how far we want to go to fix the problem. They really spell it out. Then we agree to whatever we want done. They make a date to come and they work right through and get it done whether it is a one-day job or three-day job. They clean up wonderfully which I appreciate. I went with them because they do high quality work.

The representative was very friendly, professional, and helpful. He had some really great advice about what to do with our downspouts outside which we had disconnected. The water was not being directed far enough away from the house. He did a very detailed walkthrough of the basement and spent 30 minutes describing the services he would recommend. I found it very informative and very helpful. We have not yet decided to move forward with this project. However, I would definitely recommend calling John's Waterproofing if you are contemplating a basement waterproofing project. They definitely know what they are doing.
Description of Work: We signed up for the Angie's List Big Deal to pay $50 for a waterproofing estimate and design for our basement. A rep from John's Waterproofing came out and took a detailed look, took measurements, and then drew up a design and proposal for waterfproofing the basement.

It went great! They bent over backwards to fix my problem. They were drilling into cement and I went upstairs because it was noisy, I went downstairs to check it out it ended up being concrete dust. I told them that I was concerned about it, so they sent a gal over and had her wash down all of my walls and furnace room.
Description of Work: They put in an item that was guaranteed to fix a leak in our furnace room and it even has a battery backup.

Overall the work was performed in an excellent manner. I would certainly recommend this company for anyone suffering with a leaking basement. I had an estimate from another company and not only was the price slightly more, they insisted that 4 ft of the finished wall (Sheetrock) be removed. It would have been up to me to remove and replace it. John's Waterproofing required that 2-3 feet of floor covering be removed. It is my responsibility to replace the removed portion of the flooring. In short, I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew. I give John's Waterproofing Co. a grade A+++++++!!!!!
Description of Work: Larry Enderle, the sales rep, was great. He explained the system and installation thoroughly. He came out a second time and rewrote the proposal when we decided to extend the job to include the north side of the basement as well as the west side. The installers were prompt, courteous and professional. They covered our possessions very well to prevent concrete dust from settling on them and there was almost no dust on anything. The installation was done very well and the crew was finished a little before the estimated job time was over. They cleaned up after themselves quite well before leaving. There was a couple of minor things that necessitated a call back. An inspection port was left without a cover and there was cement splashed up on the bricks around the bottom of the fireplace. An employee came back and fixed both issues very satisfactorily.

Jace inspected the crawl space and presented an estimate. This system is expensive so we wanted all the details. He arrived on time, completed the inspection and explained the CleanSpace system and options available. He answered our questions and showed us pictures he had taken. He also let us know that a heating duct under the house was damaged and that hot air from the furnace was blowing into the crawl space. Our only surprise was the amount of time this took which was over 2 hours. We had not planned for that amount of time. He was able to schedule the work at our convenience. Ramon Morales and his crew arrived on time, prepped the staging area and began to remove the damaged insulation in preparation for the installation. All of the crew were polite, professional, and seemed very motivated to do a good job. Because of the hot air blowing into the crawl space, Ramon asked if I could turn off the furnace to make the crawl space more tolerable for the workers. I shut it off and was glad the weather was mild. They worked from 8-4 that day. They arrived on time the second day, prepped and began. There were a few problems with a tripped GFI but other than that, it seemed an efficient and productive work day. I again had the furnace off. Ramon suggested I call Tri-County Temp to have the damaged ducts removed to facilitate them working in the tight space and to make arrangements for repair of the ducts. David from Tri-County Temp arrived, inspected, and made an estimate. He suggested I have the work done on the next day but I did not want to go without heat until then. Ramon called Tri-County on my behalf. The scheduler from Tri-County called and was able to make arrangements for David to return that afternoon and make repairs. He was on time and completed the work per his estimate.. He also took the initiative to make a few other repairs to the duct work in other areas of the crawl space. He was polite and professional. The work was completed by 2pm on the third day. Ramon provided the warranties and demonstrated and explained the alarm system which would indicate loss of power to the pumps. The crew cleaned the staging area, including the doors and floors. They had been quite carefull so there was not much to clean up but I appreciated their care and thoroughness. We are very satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: John's Waterproofing encapsulated the crawl space under our house with the Clean Space system. A sump pump and back-up pump as well as a dehumidifier were also installed.

Bob Locke showed up on time for the appointment and spent time examining the crawlspace. A bid was submitted in a timely manner. I expected to get more than one possible solution to the problem, but the only solution offered involved a very expensive "encapulation" system at a cost of around $14,000.00. We chose not go with this solution.

We had a great experience with John's...they did a repair along the foundation of our house that was far less expensive than other bids. We had water intrusion with the heavy November rains that were causing flooding in an apartment on our property. We had to act fast as this was causing water to seep in and need to be vacuumed continuously to not cause further problems. We called John's and they were right out to give a bid and though they were a month out they sped things up by finding time in their schedule. Since completion we have not had any more problems and they came back out to extend a drain so that it didn't compromise our neighbors property! Overall a very good fix by a very good company!

The sump pump in our crawl space stopped working and we didn't know until I came home and noticed water in the garage and around the walkway area. I went inside and could hear what sounded like a river through one of the floor vents. My husband opened the door to the crawl space and there it was! 2-4 inches of water!. We quickly got a small pump and started pumping out what we could. I found Johns Waterproofing number, gave them a call and they had a guy come right out. He determined that the sump pump had died, and if we hadn't been home that day our living room would have flooded! He called one of his cowokers who came out with a bigger pump and a fan to dry the liners of the flooring in the crawl space. Johns also loaned us a pump to use until we could get all of the duct insulation replaced. Once the liner had been dried out John's had two guys come out to replace the insulation on the duct work. These two guys worked all day to get it done, not an easy job to do. Johns came back and installed a new sump pump with an alarm on it to let us know if it ever stops working. The new pump works way more efficiently than the old one. I'm so happy that we found Johns, they were very efficient and really worked with us so that we knew exactly what they were doing and why. They will come out annually to inspect our pump, couldn't be happier with their service

Met with Jacob, who brought a very informative BOOK (I was surprised at the detail in it) that I could keep. We toured the basement, and Jacob also walked the perimeter of the house, noting where the down spouts were located. He described in detail why my basement was damp, and what fixes would work and which would not. The cost was a little high, but I thought it would be worth it. However, my ex-husband, who would have to help pay for the service, thought it was wildly extravagant. I disagree and have been planning to contact John's and ask if there is a less expensive step I can take in the meantime, until I can save enough money to make more updates happen.
Description of Work: I thought the representative I met with was thorough, very experienced in basement waterproofing and the dynamics of water, soil, foundations, downspouts, etc. I was ready to sign up but my ex-spouse put a hold on the process. I would like to follow up with John's to do SOME of the work they offered - just can't afford the full deal. I met with Jacob.

, On May 23rd Larry came out and did a very thorough assessment of the basement and our drainage. He had sent a book about basement waterproofing before he came out. The book was very thorough and informative. I have loaned the book to neighbors so they could make more informed decisions about their basements. This allowed us to get the most out of Larry's visit and discussion of options for our basement. He did not recommend the most expensive of their services so i felt he was on our side. The workmen arrived on the appointed day and had completed their work within a few hours. We have been very happy with our dry basement and feel humidity is no longer a problem for our basement.
Description of Work: An initial visit was done and the needs of our basement was assessed. We subsequently had the drainage on one side of the house improved. A sani DLrly XP unit was installed and the crawl space was encapsulated.

They were excellent. The work was done about 4 years ago. Once a year, they come and do a service call on our sump pump. This last year, the serviceman noticed that something wasn’t done quite perfectly. They came back out and fixed it for us at no cost. They are quite honest. I would certainly recommend them to anybody.

Person showed up on time. Went into the crawl space to look for water issues. Counted the vents at the foundation. The result was a recommendation for a very expensive procedure. Only the one option, completely sealing the crawl space from inside, was pushed as the only one that would work. The saleman claimed that external works aren't worth it. Somehow, I don't believe much I was told. Very disappointing. I expected that the evaluation would look at how water flows across my property etc. I have a downspout issue and some others but that apparently is not included in what John's looked at. I am very disappointed to have paid $50 for an estimate of work that would cost $6000. I can't believe that the estimate isn't free....most companies, for example the recent heating company who installed a ductless system, doesn't charge for the estimate. I also was emailed a video from John's today that tried to employ scare tactics to encourage me to spend the money to get the crawl space done. A bit heavy handed. Even if I end up sealing up the crawl space I would not use John's. I really don't trust that they want to anything but one thing that costs the most.
Description of Work: Just an evaluation of the crawl space for water issues. I expected that how water flowed across the property would be looked at. After all that is one of the reasons for the wet crawl space.

If you want the job done right the first time and you want to deal with a Company that knows the meaning of integrity .....ALWAYS contact John's Waterproofing for your needs......nobody comes close to their knowledge and professionalism!!! Thanks John's Waterproofing......you guys are the best!!
Description of Work: When we purchased our home there were issues with water intruding into the lower level of the property. A contractor was hired by the selling agent to remedy the situation. Needless to say the work the contractor performed failed in the first week of my wife and I occupying our home. That contractor was NOT on Angie's List and refused to do anything about the problem!! I contacted John's Waterproofing and dealt with the General Manager, Mr. Robin Ekloff. I can't begin to say enough good things about my experience with John's!!! Mr. Ekloff is a true professional and further a man of his word.....rare in today's times. John's Waterproofing went way beyond the " call to duty "!! They went right to work after Mr. Ekloff determined the best course of action to remedy the water issue that was ruining our property and our lives. The crew performing the work were all polite and kept my house spotless during the repair process. Thank you so much to John's Waterproofing and their G.M., Robin Ekloff, for handling a very difficult task in a most professional manner!! Always use John's Waterproofing if you run into a problem with water in or around your home....you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

It went very well. I do suggest that if you have this done, do like I did and spend some time down there inspecting the tape application to be sure that the seal is complete. I found a number of places where it appeared that the seal was not quite complete. I could be wrong but that is the way it looked. They did leave a partial roll of tape behind which made this possible. I did pay the $50 for a Big Deal for the job estimate and a $250 discount for the service. I imagine that I could have gotten the job estimate without the $50. Also, since I was able to take advantage of their 5% discount for complete payment when the job was completed, they would not also honor the big deal $250. Therefor, don't bother with the Big Deal if you can pay in full when the job is done.
Description of Work: Clean Space installation in crawl space: removed old black vapor barrior, trench the complete perimeter, laid collection pipe, installed sump pump, installed the clean space material on walls and the ground. Installation only took 1 day. They did an excellent job protecting the house and front porch from all the dirt and mud.

I purchased the Angie's Big Deal to have them evaluate our crawl space for possible moisture damage. The gentleman who came seemed knowledeable and didn't find any current damage, but found the crawl space had significantly high humidity. He showed me the reading on his hand-held monitor. He described the potential risks of leaving things as they were and told me he would send an estimate in about two weeks for sealing and dehumidifying, along with pictures he'd taken, and then I could decide if I wished to take action or leave things as they were. I never received this estimate, and my e-mail to the office inquiring about this received no response. I had e-mail correspondence several times with the office to set up the appointment, so I know I had the correct contact information. At this point I don't expect to receive an estimate and although they seem to have provided a good professional inspection, I feel I have no alternative but to give them an F at this point.

It did not go. The contractor did not seem to be interested.
Description of Work: Contacted John on 8/15, my job is a little outside his normal work, (I need to have old basement walls scaled and sealed before putting up interior framing and drywall) but he said he'd do some checking and get back to me the next day...and I never heard from John again. I have enough experience hiring contractors to know that there is a pattern - if they don't really go after your business on the front end, then the probability of disappointment once they do start the job is very high.

I contacted John’s Waterproofing about multiple cracks in my basement walls that were leaking occasionally. The cracks had been there quite a while and would leak intermittently. I appreciated that I was able to make an appointment on a Saturday to have John’s give me a bid. Prior to the appointment, they sent me a very comprehensive book on basement leaks and all the options available to fix them. The book was very helpful! Their representative, Larry, took a lot of time looking at my foundation, both inside and outside, and then sat down with me and explained the options available to fix the problem. This took several hours. I was impressed that he would spend that much time in assessing the problem and explaining the bid to me. I decided on the less expensive route and chose to have the leaks fixed rather than installing a sump pump. I made an appointment and two men from John’s showed up to do the work. They spent a lot of time preparing the cracks and then filling them. I marked a B on professionalism because I felt the area could have been cleaned up better when they were done. They did vacuum and clean up but there was a fine kind of substance like cement on the basement floor and steps after they left. It became visible as it dried; however, it mopped up without difficulty. Several weeks later, two of the areas they repaired began to leak slightly. Someone came back on November 28 and spent several hours repairing these two areas. They have not leaked since, however, one of these areas is right below a small window that still has a minor leak. I believe it has to do with the old window sill and a patio foundation problem outside my home and that it is a separate issue. I gave an overall rating of B because I did have to call them back for additional repairs, but overall, I was impressed with John’s and would hire them again.
