They are family friends - I've known him for years. I went to Home Depot and selected the two toilets that I wanted. He picked them up and installed them. He's always done a good job for me and will be coming back later to do some future work.

Dean is fantastic to work with! He is a perfectionist and takes the time and effort to do a great job. If something goes wrong, he fixes it, even though it was another contractor's error. We will likely use Dean for any and all painting needs we have.

Dean Kern purchased the color stain I requested and then promptly came to my home to do this project within the little window of sunshine and dry weather we had last Thursday.

I would give them an excellent rating. The owner is fabulous. It was a pretty uneventful project. Quality of work was great and professional. You just don't see this kind of work and it was great.

The last step of a remodel of our kitchen/living/dining room was to paint the walls and ceilings in the dining and living room, a job we'd intended to do ourselves. The living room has a 25' vaulted ceiling, however, and it became apparent that this task was beyond our abilities. We searched AL and found Kern construction. When Dean came out to estimate the job, we also talked to him about refinishing a 13' x 25' cedar wall, as well as refinishing the window trim and staining the trim of new windows in the kitchen. We were particularly interested in getting the job done quickly. Dean began work on late Thursday and he and his partner worked through the weekend to meet our schedule. They completed the job well within the estimate that Dean provided, and we can't say enough about the quality of the workmanship. The cedar wall looks brand new, the refinishing work is flawless and he did a great job of matching the stain for the new windows to the older trim. The painting/priming was extremely professional. The cut-in between the ceiling and the cedar wall, for example, was perfect. We highly recommend Kern Construction and will certainly use them again for future work.

Dean showed up right at the time he said, had all the right answers to my questions. I got what I felt was a fair price and he said he could start in a week. I gave him the job and he started a day earlier than he said. The job was done in five days and I have no complaints, not one. The house looks great. Estimate he gave me was the final price paid.
