Mazzini Construction Inc.

We have a fairly large covered deck (~400 sq ft) that needed to be rebuilt. The post in one corner was shifting and was dragging down that corner. There was some early rot in the wooden supports as well. Mazzini Construction was recommended by the designer who drew the plans for the new deck. Pete Mazzini is a "straight shooter" and a personable guy. Most contractors will place a bid based on a 5-minute site visit, but Pete actually came to the site twice to carefully look things through. The bid was detailed and broken up into phases. Pete's bid was the middle of three bids, but I got a good vibe from him and decided to use Mazzini Construction. Mazzini Construction's forte is framing. Pete's brother Greg was on-site, as was a terrific carpenter named Brian; both of these guys have many years of building experience between them. They were also great in explaining their progress throughout the project. I was most impressed by how Mazzini Construction temporarily supported the roof structure while the four old posts were removed to make way for the steel posts. Assembling the railing took longer than Pete had estimated, but he did not charge for the additional hours.
