Valley Flooring Center

We've used Valley Flooring on two different projects. This most recent for the flooring was similar to the same overall experience that I had with the first installation (laminate countertops in our kitchen and baths in about '03). They were friendly, prompt, fair and the work was excellent. They were also able to save me a considerable sum by suggesting a remnant of similar quality to use in our utility room. We will definitely consider Valley Flooring Center for future needs.

The carpet and flooring were done by one sub-contractor and the counter tops by another. Both the floor and carpet had to be ordered and since the floor came in first, it was agreed to install the floor and come back on another date to install the carpet. The estimator failed to take into account that our kitchen had a sub-floor and this created a problem with matching up the levels of kitchen and dining room. The solution required several hours more work to remove part of the sub-floor. When the kitchen counter trim needed to be replaced, the sub-contractor didn't have appropriate pieces to fill the new gap the removed sub-floor caused. It was agreed that when they came back to install the carpet, new trim would be installed. When the date for the carpet installation arrived, the sub-contractor did not show up at 10 AM, as scheduled. Numerous phone calls by Valley Flooring got him to our house at 3PM, which was too late to complete the entire job that day. The sub-contractor apparently had personal problems with his computer phone being hacked, but he returned the following day to complete the work. He brought unstained trim for the cabinets with him that fit, but we ended up having to stain them to match. While it was an exasperating experience, the quality of work was excellent and the flooring and carpet are high quality; as we expected. No extra charges were invoiced for the extra work with the partial sub-floor removal. The kitchen counter top replacement went pretty smoothly. The sub-contractor showed up on time and completed the job in the two days scheduled, although re-installation of our sink and gas stove took a third morning, which was not originally planned. The quality of the work was excellent and the material is high quality. We are pleased with the outcome. Valley Flooring is a smaller business and their pricing is aggressive. They try hard to please and are easy to get along with. The circumstances surrounding their flooring sub-contractor left a bad impression, but it's hard to criticize the end result. We would give them another chance if we decide to do more carpeting.

We were warned that the installer may be late. He was. We were told that this should be a one day installation. It wasn't. We have used Valley Flooring several times for sheet vinyl in other rooms in our house and have been pretty happy. One of the times we had vinyl installed in our rather large utility room. That time they sent two installers to handle the job. This job was a little larger than that installation and they sent only one installer. Needless to say, he was unable to carry the sheet vinyl by himself. He also needed help with putting the kitchen island back in place. The installer did a good job but the price I was quoted stated and quot;installationand quot; which should include lifting of the product and lifting of the kitchen island. The installation should have only taken one day. This was definitely a two installer job. The carpet restretchers also did a good job.

Salesman came out next day to measure and give me estimate of cost. Professional and helpful. Installer here the next week. He was professional and friendly. The floor looks great and I will go there again.
