I called four different companies. Brad was right on it from the beginning. I told him what I wanted, we discussed and then he gave me a bid. A good bid, well below a couple of others. I have been around concrete for many years and Brad listened to what I had to say. He was on time and corrected a few items before concrete showed up. He and Bill poured with a smile and did a beautiful job on my Stamped pewter patio.
Description of Work: I had a good size patio poured by Salem Concrete. They were prompt on their bidding. Very punctually on their arrival time. Did a beautiful job and it was clean when they left. Gave me great tips for the future.

It was deemed that repairing the 1952 concrete would not be acceptable, and that the entire porch and steps had to be replaced. However, it tooks weeks before the sub submitted their quote to Horizon. State Farm paid me, the Homeowner, based on the quote given to them by Horizon which included Salem Concrete's work. Salem concrete further delayed the job until nearly a month from the accident and then turned up and in one day removed the damaged concrete and poured replacement. No further work on the house or landscaping could be done until the forms were removed and the concrete cured. We were now into a very cold and wet weather situation. Which caused the work on the house to stop and the house protected. I find that $4500 for one days work a bit excessive - especially since on demolition it was found that the concrete porch was a shell (hollow). Salem Concrete did come back in a timely manner to remove the forms - and it was discovered at that time that they had erred in the design of an overhang - which had to be reformed and repoured. The last form was finally removed on November 18th, more than one month from the date of the accident. We still had 28 days of cure time to go,and they had to blanket the concrete due to cold, which they did. We have dusty looking concrete due to the weather conditions during it's cure. Had they been a little faster in initial response and scheduling the entire job would have gone better.
Description of Work: On Oct 16th our home was hit by a runaway SUV - severely damaging our concrete steps and porch (other reports on the rest of the damage). Horizon Restoration was hired at the general contractor. Their only sub for concrete work is Salem Concrete.
