Got this company's recommendation from Angie's List as I have other companies and never been dissappointed! Call Rod's Plumbing for all you plumbing needs! Tub is fixed and both outside hose bibs/plumbing works like it should & my water bills won't be through the roof .
Description of Work: Jerry was extremely professional and prompt. Assessed my problems, told me like it was and gave me my options and costs associated with my decisions. Once I decided it was done done and done! Also he was very respectful of both myself and my home. The best! And the best part what it cost was reasonable and not a gut retching surprise. Highly recommend Rod's Plumbing!

Called for estimate to reconnect plumbing lines in a house that had copper sections stolen throughout and needed a new water heater and new kitchen sink installed...Rod came quickly and after surveying the situation, suggested that it would be quicker and less expensive to go back with PEX tubing. The next morning, he came back out with 2 of his guys and they quickly set to work. They were very FAST! Removed old copper and galvanized pipe and placed them separate from other debris for me to recycle, had the water heater out in no time. Completed all work in less than 2 days and even found and repaired a leak in the yard discovered once the water was turned back on. They cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant and professional. Rod came back to our property the day his guys finished to check how things were working. He wanted to make sure that all of our plumbing concerns were addressed and that we were satisfied with our outcome. We could not be happier- it is nice to have someone review a problem and come up with an efficient and cost effective solution. As a note, we chose to have the work performed on a time + materials quote rather that a full quote for the job. When I asked to review the breakdown of time worked and material expenses, Rod called me personally and went over the bill. I had been on the site while the guys worked, and they reported their time honestly (did not count their lunch break, did not round up hours, etc.) so that was really nice to see, that kind of integrity.
Description of Work: replaced plumbing in 1951 house with PEX tubing, install new water heater, install new kitchen sink, replace innards in toilets. repaired leak that was found in yard after water turned on.

He is on Angie's List. Basically it was placed underneath my house so that it would be available for a gas stove when we choose to replace my electric stove. He also ran a line to my patio so we could install a gas grill. He set is up so that we would have that access down the line for future use. We had a couple of estimates; he was one who quoted. We told him what we wanted done so he looked at everything and figured out how they would do it and then gave us an estimate. He then came out and performed the work and was very professional and courteous. This is the second time we have had him come out and do some work. He must have been busy because he was a little flustered. I can't give him high marks for punctuality because we had to call him several times; which was not our experience previously. He does good work, has a great price point and we have not had issues in the past. He apologized and felt terrible about it so he just was sort of flustered.

Woke up to the sound of water running very early Sunday morning Dec 30, 2012 and spent about 30min attempting to find how to shut it off.....my old gas water heater was gushing cold water, and no valve shut off on it and I could not locate the shut off on the water main. Called Rod's Plumbing about 6AM and explained the predicament. Rod came out within the hour and shut off the water and advised nothing could be done about the water heater tank replacement until Monday 12/31/12 and though his workers were on another job he would have one of them come and install the new water heater with a shut off valve also and he gave me and estimate. Rod estimated $650 for the new heater and installation including adding the shut off valve. $85 was the charge for coming out Sunday morning to shut off the water. Rod called me Monday morning before 8AM to let me know Jason was on his way to pick up the new water heater and would be here to install it shortly. Long story short, Jason arrived about 8:30AM and I had hot water by 12:30PM 12/31/12 and am very pleased with both the water heater, the installation and the price, and can't thank Rod enough for coming to the rescue on a Sunday morning!

I called Rod's Plumbing at 4:30 in the afternoon about installing a toilet that I had already bought. They were willing to do it and came the next morning at 8:30, installed the new toilet and took the old one away. I was blown away by how quick, friendly and efficient they were. I'll definitely be hiring them again.

When I called Rod to make an appointment, he explained that all of his employees were working on a big project across town but he would let one leave the site a little early to fix my toilet (a toddler flushed an object resulting in a bad clog). Sure enough, the plumber arrived around 4 pm and in just 30 minutes had removed the toilet, found and extracted the object, put down a new sealing ring and reinstalled the toilet. He was very pleasant, professional and fast! I couldn't be more pleased and have been spreading the word to coworkers and friends that Rod's Plumbing is the place to call.

After talking with Rod by telephone, we agreed on a date and time for him to come out and give me an estimate for installing a new bathtub in our master bathroom. He arrived on time, and best of all was very pleasant and easy to talk with. He also quoted a price much lower than two other companies that I had contacted and he seemed far more knowledgeable that the reps from the other companies. A week later, his team showed up and installed the tub and the new fixtures without incident. Things ran very smoothly and it was obvious that they had the experience needed to do the job. I just received the bill for the installation and it was exactly what he had quoted for the job so it doesn't get much better than that! I would like to say that it has been a pleasure working with Rod and his staff. It is obvious that he takes pride in his company and is a person who can be trusted to do what he says he will do. We would not hesitate to use Rod's Plumbing for any work that we may need in the future.

Rod's Plumbing was great to work with. We had a leak in our upstairs water heater and Rod's came out first thing Monday morning and looked at it and gave us an estimate. They also took a look at our downstairs water heater to make sure it was still ok. I gave them the go ahead they went and picked up the new water heater, took out the old one and diposed of it, and installed the new one all before noon! The new one was installed with safety straps (which our old one did not have) and they were very careful when they took the old one out, the area was very clean. I would highly recommend them.

I live in Alaska and own a home in Salem Oregon. I called Rod to do some repairs on my home while I was going to be in Oregon. We agreed on the day to do the repairs. it was Aug. 8th 2012 the day after I was to arrive in Oregon. Rod told me to just give him a call when I got to town to make sure I made it down. I did call him and left a message that I was in town and looked forward to see him the following morning as we had agreed on before I left Alaska. He never showed up the next morning. I called him again and left another detailed message asking him to call me an let me know if he was going to show up or if I needed to find another plumber. He never even called back. I did find another plumber and it set the work I planned to get done on this property back by several days due to Rod's Plumbing inconsiderate, unprofessional lack of response. I would never use him in the future, nor would I recommend him.

Our hot water heater broke and we needed a new one quickly (we were leaving for a camping trip the next day). Rod's plumbing came out and gave us an estimate that was very reasonable in price (compared to the other company that we had come out). They were in and out within an hour, and took the old one with them. We were very pleased with their work, and will hire them again the future should the occasion call for it!

Hi!I was extremely pleased with the service of Rod's Plumbing. I had some water on the garage floor and wetness around one of the pipes of my water heater, which I later learned was not either the hot or cold water lines :-).The 1st company I called (number on the water tank), quote me around $135 for a service call, and then tried to sell me a new water tank ranging anywhere from $500 to $1K (depending on the warranty purchase), and I wouldn't have to pay for the service call. I was like "what?" They hadn't even come out to look to see what the issue was.At that point, I decided to join Angie's list :-), and to give Rod's Plumbing a try, based on all of the positive comments! Both of my calls were answered promptly, and I also received a call from the technician to update me on when he would be there. The gentleman that came to my house was great! He advised me I would not need a new water heater; the leak was not from the heater, but possibly from the roof vent. He advised on that I would need to contact either a heating or roofing company to look at this, and when I asked him what I owed, he indicated "that was up to the boss". I am waiting for the invoice :-) I appreciate the honesty of Rob and his technician and for also educating me on the workings of the water heater. Should another plumbing issue come up, I will call Rob and will happily recommend this company to family and firends! Many thank!

When calling Rod's Plumbing, I got Rod on the phone - not just once but every time I called him. No phone tag - amazing. He showed up promptly to look at the project. His estimate for tub removal and new tub installation, shower surround removal, and fixture removal and replacement was for $638. I got two other estimates - one for $950 and another for over $2000! The estimated cost was a big factor in my choosing Rod, but he was also the plumber who made the best first impression. Rod and his workers arrived on time, about 8:00 in the morning and got right to work. The old tub was difficult to remove, but they had it out and the new tub installed with alot of work on the drainage area for the new tub. Old fixtures removed and new plumbing completed by a little after noon. Rod and his workers were efficient and skilled. They were also pleasant and cleaned up every little mess they made. They even hauled away all the old stuff, including the old tub, fixtures, shower surround and even the box the tub came in! We are so enjoying our new bathtub and shower. I have definitely found my plumber!
Description of Work: Removed old shower surround, removed old tub, installed new tub with alot of work on the drainage are, removed old fixtures, completed plumbing needed for new fixtures. After tile completed, returned to complete fixture installation. The tile I installed was extremely hard, and Rod's workers needed a different drill bit so as to not break the tile. This was on a Friday morning, and I assumed they would return early the next week to finish. Rod's workers showed up at five that afternoon after working all day with a new drill bit and finished the fixture installation in about an hour. They told me that Rod instructed them to finish that day as he wanted us to have a working bathtub/shower. This was above and beyond, but was greatly appreciated, as we have only one bathroom.

Installation went very well, Rod's guys were in and out in around 3 hours. They came back to install fixtures after drywall was complete. Found the tub cracked, sometime between install and then. Rod had his fiberglass man fix it, looked great. Only complaint was it took 2 weeks to get fiberglass fixed.

Project went great! The two valves were installed in about an hour. Later in the same day, I was finishing the shower structure I accidently let fly a nail from my gun. Missed my, but nicked the cold water supply line. I turned water off, and scheduled Rod's plumbing for the next morning. He showed up on time, and quickly fixed the leak. They are now our plumbers when the need arises.

I called first thing on a Monday morning. I thought I was going to need a new water heater. I can't now remember whether Rod said he would be able to come out later that morning or whether it was just sometime that same day. I gave him my contact information so that he could call when he was on his way. He came about 2 hours later (without calling, but that might have been because I am close to his home so he could just check by on his way to or from his base). He removed his shoes when he came in. He explained my options. He worked efficiently. He showed me the damaged part he replaced. The charges were reasonable and fair. What I most appreciated was that I felt like Rod gave a fair assessment of the situation without pushing a new water heater that I was prepared to buy but might not need for for some time. In short, I would call Rod courteous, honest, efficient and fair.
Description of Work: Checked water heater that was rusting (a lot) on top and fixed leak at inlet. (The leak had probably existed since another plumbing company installed the heater several years ago, but I noticed the evidence only recently.)

Workers were very good to work with. They removed their shoes befor entering the house and even wiped off the steps outside. They replaced an elbow on a gas line so our new stove wouldn't,t sit to far from the wall. Job was completed in about 1/2 hour. Good service.

Our well was going bad and our choice was a new well or connect to city water. We selected three plumbing companys to get bids from to make the connection once we decided to take the city water option. We outlined several options in our request for bid. Only Rod seemed to understand the request and provided us the three price options we requested. Once we selected Rod he worked with us to bring the job in under what we thought it would cost (we opted to trench ourself) and the finished job was perfect.
Description of Work: Rod's company was selected from three bids to conect us to City water. They first came out and tested the existing line from the well house to the house. Once the existing partial line was deemed workable, he ran a new line to the road and City meter (90 feet) , connected a RP device and made the connection to the existing line. When there was a drip from the RP device he came back and fixed it.

Overall it went very well and I would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Rod took my call on Wed am. He was unable to come himself and explained generally why and then stated he would have his employee, Steven call and schedule to come within a few hours. Steven arrived, was very polite and friendly, offered to remove his shoes which was not necessary, he was quick to explore the causes of my drop in water pressure for my kitchen sink. He explained what he was doing and why, and within about an hour had the problem resolved. There was a blockage. He cleaned up after himself and made sure he double checked his work. I was impressed with his thoroughness, politeness and knowledge of the situation. I also requested he look at my water pipes under the house as I wanted a bid on replacing the old galvanized piping. Again he was quick to explain what this might entail and how they would address some of the issues related to my 1950's house. They willl provide an estimate and send me the bill from todays job. Steven was here about an hour so I expect the bill to be around $85 for today which seems reasonable.
