I called several flooring companies in Salem, Oregon looking for someone to refinish my hardwood floors quickly as I was refinancing. After calling several highly rated companies. all were booked out 6 months or so. One highly rated company stated he couldn't do it, but that his son was also in the business and had been trained by and worked for him previously. He referred me to On Point Wood Flooring. I called Tim and he came out right away, gave me an estimate which I felt was reasonable, so I hired him and scheduled the job. I expected Tim would do the work but, with out any notice, he sent two guys I'd never met to do the work. They did do a good job protecting my house from the dust, but advised me that I would need to repaint my base boards as the sander left marks on them. After the floors were sanded, they applied the finish. Initially, while wet, it looked good. After it was dry I noticed there were brush marks, cracks and puddles. I called Tim, he came back out and said it the floor needed another coat and he would send his best guy. This left me wondering why he didn't send his "best guy" in the first place. So, another guy came and applied another coat of finish. After it dried, it still had puddles and cracks between boards that weren't filled properly. I called Tim again, he said he would be out the following Wednesday to inspect it. He didn't call, didn't show. I called him for weeks and left many messages but he never returned my calls. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but he did not respond to their efforts either. Still not happy with my floors and am going to have to hire someone else to fix his company's mistakes. I wish I could give zero stars!!

Hardwood floor refinishing. Initially, Tim was very responsive. He came to my house and gave an estimate that I thought was reasonable. But… When it came time to do the work he sent to Two guys I had never met. When talking to Tim, I was under the impression that he did the work. They did the work but I wasn’t happy with it. The finish was dull and puddled and there were gaps in between the planks that were not filled. I called Tim and after a few days he did return my call. he came out and said that they needed to put on another coat of finish on. He said he would send his “best man”, which left me wondering who he sent the first time. A different guy came out, he put another coat on the floor which looked a little better, But once it dried it was the same dull, scratchy Looking finish with puddles and gaps in between some planks. I Called Tim back again and he said he would come out on the following Wednesday to check it out. He never showed, never answered repeated phone calls and did not even reply to a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. My mistake was paying them before the floor was dry. Don’t hire this guy he’s a scammer does shoddy work.

Tim and his crew were fantastic. For background, another company had refinished our floors about two months before. We were very unhappy with the work and the previous company stated they did not know what went wrong other than the floors (pine and age) were very difficult to do. We had Tim out for an opinion. He stated, yes the floors would be difficult, but they would be able to do the job with better results. They started the process and found that yes, these were very difficult floors to refinish. They experimented with different processes until they found the right solution and we are just so happy with the finished product. Tim kept us informed throughout the job and we were so surprised by how they cleaned up. There was far less dust than with the previous company and they had taken down all the plastic wrap that we had placed (apparently they would have wrapped everything had we not). We would not hesitate to use them again.

On Point Wood Flooring is the perfect partner for families looking to update their floors. We are delighted with the beautiful hardwood flooring in our new home. The flooring was expertly installed and makes the space look warm and clean. But, we give On Point Wood Flooring our highest marks because of the company’s delightful manner. Tim explained all design decisions in person, walked us through options, and communicated with us promptly and professionally. No question or request went unanswered; no small detail went without attention. On Point Wood Flooring went the extra mile to make sure the job was done properly, and, after having solicited multiple bids for the work, we know that On Point Wood Flooring prides itself on a market-competitive price while providing exquisite craftsmanship.

I hired On Point Wood Flooring to refinish my hardwood floors. I met with Tim and discussed my needs and he quoted me what I felt was a fair price and said they could start the next week. The workers initially arrived on time and did a good job of protecting my home and sanding the floors. But, I thought Tim would be the one doing the job, but he sent two men I had never met. After the finished was applied there were gaps that had not been adequately filled, there were puddles of finish and the finish was dull. I contacted Tim, he came over and stated it needed another coat of finish and he would send his "best men" over. He sent a different man over who applied another coat of finish but did not fix the puddles and cracks. after it dried, the finish was still dull. I contacted Tim again and he set an appointment with me for the following Wednesday to inspect the work. He was a no call/no show. I called him repeatedly over the next three weeks and he never returned any of my calls and my floors and ugly and dull with visible cracks and puddles.

Floors were installed on time, but the finish work was terrible. Nearly every room had puddles of finish. When we repeatedly contacted the company to come fix the problem, they were non-responsive. We managed to make two appointments for the repair and for both they were no-call no-shows.
Description of Work: On Point removed old carpet from a home we had just bought, installed new wood flooring in four rooms, and refinished the old wood floor in one room.

Owner Tim Monoke is professional, fair, and hard working. He wanted me to be happy with the finished product, and we are! His price beat a competitor who wanted to do cheap workarounds to do the job fast. Tim takes pride in his work. The project went a little longer than expected in part due to snow storms, but small delays are to be expected and Tim worked hard to minimize the impact on us. I'll definitely call Tim again when we change additional rooms to hard wood. The floors are beautiful!
Description of Work: On Point Wood Flooring removed two rooms and a staircase of carpeting and replaced it with beautiful Brazilian cherry real wood floor to match existing engineered hardwood flooring in adjacent rooms, added wood in-floor vent in place of the metal grates, and reinstalled baseboard in both room and added baseboard and skirting to the stairs.
