+ -1 moreOverall I was pleased with the quality of the work but thought the price was a bit too high. He was here about 4 hours and labor was 400.00. He did leave a bit of debris from removal of the recessed light. He also forgot to re-hook up my alarm system which I did not mind because it was not working anyway. He called me later to tell me that he forgot and would come back to fix it but I told him he did not have to.
Description of Work: My original call was because we had lost power to part of the house after my daughter attempted to iron in her bedroom with all of her other devices on. The normal resetting of the breaker did not work and I do not have much knowledge in electrical 'stuff' so I called this company after reading its ratings. The fellow on the phone was very helpful and courteous in my conversation with him. I also requested that he give me a new circuit for my over the stove microwave as I was tired of the lights dimming when we ran the microwave. He scheduled an appt. for the next day and Steve came on time after callling me ahead of time to make sure I was ready for him. Steve was very professional and knowledgeable and explained the circuity of the home and why only part of the lights were off in her room. After his explanation I know that next time this happens I can do the work myself and replace the socket that 'burned out' in order to have the circuit work correctly. Because the fix was an easy one I presented him with a list of other 'electrical' things to fix if he had time. He responded nicely and said he would do the extra things if time allowed. He ended up replacing a master bath fan/light combo, removing a recessed light that I wanted out and replacing a bedroom light fixture along with the wiring for the microwave.

+ -1 moreThe electrician showed up right on time and within 45 minutes had all my lights and outlets back on line. He needed to replace a circuit breaker which he did not have with him but returned the next day and made the replacement.
Description of Work: Lights and electrical outlets to our three bathrooms and a bedroom suddenly went out. I tried the usual fixes: check the circuit breakers and then enlist the help of my son in law who is very good at fixing things. We couldn't fix the problem. I then called Northwinds Electric and made an appointment for the next day.

+ -1 moreCalled Northside after reading about them on AL. They estimated after I showed them what we wanted. The electrician Ray was punctual and did exactly what we wanted and the price was significantly less than other estimates. The charge was the same as the estimate. We ended up with several workers here do different jobs and Ray was very flexible to work around and with them.\ Thanks Norma and Mike Slover
Description of Work: We had several estimates from various electrical companies on Angie's List. Northside responded with an estimate and an timely service. The electrician Ray was flexible and excellent. We had other workers here and he worked easily with them. We had switches put in, problem trouble shooting with outdoor switch and cadet heater put in that they purchased. We now feel trusting about using Angie's list and have workers come into our home. We will use Northside again when the need arises.

+ -1 moreVery prompt in calling back, came the next day to assess job and write up a proposal. Proposal was received in 2 days and job was performed within 5 days of acceptance of proposal. There was a 3 day holiday during this period. Took one day to do the job with 2 electricians on the job. They were very professional, clean and competent. Follow-up was done by Mike Skelton during and after the job. Great job!!!
Description of Work: Rewired and placed recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting in kitchen and dining room. Also reset dining room light. Removed existing light fixtures, obtained electrical permit for work and recommended drywall company for repairs of drywall.

+ -1 moreMike returned my call immediately. We were without electricity and Mike explained he was shorthanded. He referred me to another company. Mike called me back several hours later to make sure I'd gotten ahold of the other company. When the other company couldn't help me, Mike decided he would drive to our home in a rural area 40 miles South from where he was located in the late afternoon in pouring down rain. He temporarily got our electricity working, then several days later the job was completed. In my mind, Mike was a hero. Going the extra mile to make sure his customer was taken care of, coming in as quoted, and getting the job done in a very professional and timely manner. Thank You Mike.
Description of Work: Electricity in our home was out. Some previous work that had been performed some 10 years earlier had cause stress in the box and burned it out. The electrical box needed to be replaced in our 1970's home.
