It did not go well. He was initially very hard to get in contact with and showed up late. He pulled up in a rented U-Haul ( the first red flag!). Not sure why a contractor does not have his own vehicle? I asked him why he was tacking up particle board onto our newly painted door frame because it did not look good. He immediately became very defensive and said " this is the way I have always done it! " I asked him if there was another way to do this without putting up particle board shims and then he then became very upset and said " ok...well someone else can do it!" So he left the door and I had to call Lowe's to try and get someone else out to do the job correctly. I would not recommend this guy at all!

Ted is excellent! This is the second time we have used him (the first time he replaced 27 windows) this time it was 16 doors. He does a great job and always cleans up after himself! Our house was built in 1954 and has definitely "settled". It was quite challenging for Ted to get all of the doors level, but he did it!

Because of all the dimension changes, this job required much more than simply updating old leaky doors and windows with new ones. Mr. Macy had to do extensive work to reframe the affected windows. We have an older ranch-style house with siding that is no longer readily available, but he found a source for the siding. The finished work looks great. You would not guess from the outside that the new windows had been resized or that we didn't always have a sliding door. He installed the new siding so that it looks like part of the original construction, not like a patch job. We've had other people from the construction trades out to our place (electrician and mason), and they commented on the excellent carpentry...so that made us feel really good. We first used Niagara Construction about three years ago to do a couple of straightforward window replacements. We were pleased with that job, so it made sense to call again for this more complex project. I'm very glad we did! Highly recommended. Note: the price included labor and materials (windows and sliding door)
