Light Benders-Solatube - Salem

I had 2 major concerns with the instillation of the solar system. First off I got no deduction in the price of my system for already having a hole in my roof and interior ceiling (it was going into a previous wood burning stove area). The 2nd issue was due to the fact that the interior ceiling hole had to have a "ring" installed that had to be made. They said this was a "common" set back they run into and that it was usually 2 sizes. So if it was so common why do they not keep a few of each size in stock rather than having it made each time it was needed. ($75.00 extra dollars). Soooo I had to wait 3 extra weeks while this plastic ring was being made. They did install what they could while the ring was being made but I had a hole in my living room that was open to my attic and cold air. Also since they had "no other jobs in Salem" I was then put on the books so when another job was down here. Wasn't I a job??? Unfinished for sure. Overall I love the product. The addition of natural light is amazing. I've seen other lights that are in use from a big box store that are not as bright as mine (and this was in Iowa where it is sunny many more days than Oregon).

I am very satisfied. The only hidden catch I can see with them is there are additional costs with how tall your roof is. So there is that thing that people need to ask before. I talked to the owner, she was great and very on top of things. The installation staff was a little bit harder to get information out of. The owner and I had a really good conversation and we definitely will be adding solar tubes to our property.
