Response from Leupitz Pest Control Inc
We were contacted via email on 9/14/10 by this member who sent a picture of the pest in question. We identified the pest as a drugstore beetle, which is a common pantry pest that can infest grain products such as cereals, flour, etc. Whenever we deal with a stored product pest such as drugstore beetles, we always recommend first that the client find the source of the infestation (which can anything from an infested food product to dried pet food) and dispose of it. Often times, removing the offending infested item will solve the problem, resulting in a considerable savings of treatment expense for the customer. In this case, we never received a further response from the person that we talked to on the telephone after we identified the pest in the photo so we could only assume that perhaps our recommendation was followed through on and the problem was resolved. We are always happy to assist in solving the pest problems of our clients. If the recommendations we provide over the telephone can save the client the cost of a on-site service call or treatment by simply disposing of infested products, then we have achieved our objective. However, if a given pest problem persists after our recommendations to a resident have been fulfilled, a return phone call or email requesting additional assistance (which we never received in this case after we identified the pest) is always gratefully appreciated so that we can then set up an appointment to provide the treatment services that may be required to complete the eradication of the problem.
