Very well. He helped me repack frozen food into coolers and checked for thermostat at his shop. He repaired it the same day and I was able to save thawing food. The dishwasher problem occurred several days later and he came out and pulled a computer code. It was determined that to replace the circuit panel would cost more than the dishwasher was worth so no repair.

Larry called me with an estimate of when he would be there & he was prompt. He identified the problem immediately & replaced the worn-out part. He then cleaned up the accumulation of dirt in the dishwasher & gave recommendations for extending the life of the appliance. He also replaced the hoses on the washing machine. Both the dishwasher & washing machine have worked perfectly since then. This is the 2nd time Larry has helped with my appliances. Some years ago there were problems with the drier & he found the problem immediately & then cleaned the inside of the drier. The problem has never recurred.
Description of Work: Larry fixed the dishwasher that wasn't draining & also cleaned the inside where dirt had accumulated. He also replaced the hoses on washing machine.

Went to Larry's store and very impressed by the quality and amount of completely reconditioned washers and dryers he had available. Larry showed me how he disassembles, cleans, services and reassembles washers and dryers, stoves and refrigerators. Larry had several very high quality sets and we chose a set of Maytag appliances for $750.00. Larry delivered them the following day, gave us cash for our old set, set up the new set, leveled them, explained how they work. We are very, very happy with our new, reliable higher end appliances for a very reasonable amount of money.
Description of Work: Larry was very responsive in first coming out within an hour of my call to him when our 30 year old washing machine stopped working. He determined quickly what part needed replacing, called the parts company in front of me and when I learned that it would be $500 for the replacement part, asked Larry if he sold reconditioned washers.

He was very helpful. It was extremely helpful to know that the cost of a service call wouldn't be necessary to determine the cause of the issue.

Dryer would not start. He did analysis, had part for new door switch, put in part, cleaned up, replaced dryer vent hose, put dryer back in place. All was done with speed and good attitude.

Larry was able to respond the next morning to my call for service. He replaced the heating element and thoroughly vacuumed the whole area under and behind the drum removing excess lint. The floor around the dryer was left as clean as when he came in. He advised he has been doing appliance work for 30 plus years and it shows. Will definitely call him again when I need these types of repairs.

Larry was able to do the job quickly and efficiently. He had a seal in stock and came out that day. He was here about 30 minutes and the job was done. He was very nice and friendly. The price was certainly reasonable. Would definitely be willing to do business with him again

My front load dryer started to make a horrible squeaking noise while tumbling so I called Larry for a repair estimate. Larry took the time to ask me a few questions, and diagnosed the problem over the phone. Larry gave me three options for repair: 1) do it myself as he had the part in stock, 2) bring the dryer to him and save the service call fee, or 3) he could come to my home and make the repair on-site. While weighing my options I decided to drive down to his shop and discuss the problem in person. Larry took the time to show me a dryer similar to mine, and asked me a few more questions to pinpoint the issue. He then explained to me how easy it was to get to the area where the part was located, convincing me to try it myself. I tore my dryer apart in about an hour, and returned with the part that I thought was causing the problem. Larry inspected the part and determined it probably just needed to be re-lubricated, which he did for me. He sent me on my way without charging me a dime for his time or advice. I re-assembled the dryer and it now works perfectly with no squeak!! Larry is a prime example of how customer service should be. He could of very easily sold me a replacement part that I didn't need, or talked me into an expensive service call. Instead he took the time to explain things to me, and gave me the confidence to do the repair myself. Other companies should take note!! Larry has earned my business as a return customer!

I called Larry on Tuesday and he was very accommodating to my schedule. He arrived right on time on Friday morning and was neat, clean and extremely polite and professional! Larry promptly discovered that the reason our dishwasher had been making such a terrible noise was that it needs a new and quot;cylinderand quot; (?). There was a piece of broken mug handle in there that had been causing damage, and as a resulte is now beyond repair. So although Larry delivered grim news, I am completely satisfied with his service and will definitely contact him again in the future if needed! Thanks!

I was wonderful from start to finish.
Description of Work: My five year old computerized Whirlpool Washer wouldn't work when I pushed the start button. This machine was so bad that I had already had it gutted (while still under warrantee) and two mother boards installed before one of them actually worked later on. When the start button wouldn't work I knew it would require a new motherboard to the tune of around $500. I called Larry he confirmed this. I bought a regular electronic Whirlpool machine from him that he had rebuilt over the phone after he sent me pictures and information. From start to finish this transaction including delivery and installation as well as removing my old machine too just about 4 hours if not less. Larry was very nice to work with, professional and stands behind what he sells. If he feels it isn't worth fixing he will tell you. I would recommend him highly. I feel confident this machine will last much longer than the one I paid $1,200 for 5 years ago.

The heating element on my dryer burned out. I took the element to Larry and he tested and confirmed that it needed replacement. He had the replacement part in stock and provided it to me at a reasonable price. He disattached the old element and reattached the new one for free in his shop.

Overall I would rate it as going extremely well.
Description of Work: Three major appliances needed repair. A Kenmore clothes drier's control panel was not fuctioning. Sears repair quoted almost $300 for repair. The bake element in a built in ovenwas burned out. These cost at least $45 and are not availible from Lowes or Home Depot. The defroster drain on our 20 year old refrigerator was clogged so the water was collecting in the bottom of the refrigerator. Larry took the drier into his shop, repaired the control unit and throughly cleaned the drier. He replaced the ovens bake element.He checked the refrigerator and advised that the repair would be very expensive for an old refrigerator, and it would be better to just buy a new one.The entire experience went extremely

As stated before, he showed up in a very timely manner, and was very professional. It went so smoothly that there is not much to tell.
Description of Work: We called Larry and explained our fridge problem. He said it sounded like the defrost thermostat, and that he already had one on his truck. He was here in a half hour and had the fridge fixed and running in another hour. We are very satisfied with his work, and we will definitely call him again if the need arises.

Based on reviews on Angie's List, I called Larry's Appliance Castle when our 11-year-old refrigerator stopped chilling, and talked to Larry. He asked questions and listened, then recommended we replace the refrigerator. He felt it was a computer (motherboard) failure, which would cost more than could be justified. I appreciated his willingness to forgo a service call when he could have scheduled one.

Very Well, personable, to the point and informative. very likeable man.
Description of Work: Larry came over roughly 30 minutes after we talked on the phone(he was in the area already on another call). opened up my washer,looked inside, told me he thought he knew what it was, opened up the top of the washer and turned the water on... voila! leak in the water into the tub! Very kind, urged me to stay and watch and ask questions while he worked. did not have the part he needed(used it on another call) but had in the shop, made arrangements to come back later in the day to finish fixing and told me he would run the washer with it opened up so he could make sure it was fixed right. Very good service...would DEFINITELY use him again!

This man is one in a million. Even though I have never met the man and did not utilize his services, I will definately call him again when I have need of an appliance repair man. Professionals who give free advice and save you gobs of money are rare! He was very patient, understanding, courteous, and needless to say, very helpful
Description of Work: I called Larry to come at look at our gas range. The oven was overheating, causing things being baked to burn on the bottom and stay soft in the middle (like cookies). He said that rather than pay him a $105 service call, I should simply pull the oven control knob off the range and look at the back of it and see if there was a "cooler", "hotter" adjustment screw. Sure enough there was. I purchased an oven thermometer then tested to see the exact tempature, then made the simple adjustment, and retested until the tempature was correct.

Very good experience overall. The B for professionalism is because he drives an unmarked pickup and was not in uniform. Not a big deal for me. If I could give an A+ for responsiveness and punctuality, I would.
Description of Work: Called Larry to repair a refrigerator at a rental. He reponded immediatley, had the part in stock at his shop, gave me the part at cost. He walked in, listed to the refrigerator and knew what the problem was before he opened the fridge door.

I called Larry, the service was prompt. Part needed to be ordered, came in the next day. The icemaker was fixed prior to an upcoming spell of really hot weather - so that was a plus!
Description of Work: The ice maker on my 2 year old refrigerator wasn't making any ice. Larry came by and determined that the real problem was a switch on the back of the fridge that wasn't properly controlling the flow of water into the icemaker. So rather than just replacing the ice-maker, Larry searched further and found the real problem. The switch was replaced, and the old ice-maker is working again.

Yesterday (5/31), the and quot;springsand quot; our dishwasher door gave way. The dishwasher door had been making a terrible noise for a long time when we opened or shut the door. We looked on Angie's List and found good reviews for Larry's Appliance Castle in Salem, Oregon. This morning we called about 9:00A.M. and explained our problem. Larry gave us an estimate and said he could be out to our house between 10:00A.M. and 11:00A.M. this morning. When he arrived, Larry got right to work and knew exactly how to fix the problem. He was very professional and has the door back in working order in about an hour. We were very impressed with the service he provided. Larry is a very personable man, and told us, being the owner/operator of the company, he works a lot of referrals. We are certainly happy to give him a very good referral and were happy to find a reliable company to repair our appliances. Next time we need an appliance repair, we will be calling Larry's Appliance Castle. We know Larry , with his good experience, will be coming to repair the appliance, and not just any repairman from one of the big repair companies.

I was looking at having to buy a new stove or do extensive repairs on our old stove. All of the burners were at least intermittent in their function, and half didn't work at all. I was also under time pressure, having to make food for my daughter's wedding coming up in one week or so. My wife was very nervous about the stove. Larry came out right away, when every one else I phoned would be at least one to two days. His fee was very reasonable, especially if you consider what we could have wound up spending. Many of the parts needed for this range were no longer available or very difficult to locate. Larry got all the information over the phone and brought what used and new parts he could locate for his initial visit. He completely repaired our old stove on his first trip and my wife and I were delighted.
