Very high pressure sales job full of shady tricks. They showed square cut cross sections of other windows, then a bevel cut of their Alside window saying "See how much thicker it is?". Lots of financial trickery, like taking an estimate of energy savings over 40 (!) years and plugging it into their 10 year estimate. Then claiming this number as both a credit on the 'new windows' column, and a debit on the 'do nothing' column. (doubling the effect--claiming $24,000 of energy savings over 10 years) He said at the end the offer was confidential, probably because it is such a ripoff! I talked to someone else later and he was saying our house could be done for $5-$7k, but that he used to work for a firm that would come in saying $30 grand (!!) then over the course of hours, come down to the great deal of $15,000, still 2-3 times what we should pay. Amazingly, that almost perfectly matches HBS. Oh--he also offered me $500 to write a good review here--so beware any rave reviews.
