My experience with this company did not go well. After my water heater flunked inspection due to improper venting and lack of earthquake straps I was advised to call George Morlan, the "water heater kings". I made an appointment for 9am the next day. Nine came and went and no one arrived nor did I receive a call. I called them at 10am and was told there was a delay and someone would come by noon. Noon came and went and no one arrived and once again no one called. I called again and was told would arrive at 3pm. Finally someone arrived at 330pm. The tech was immediately aggravated when I was not sure why the water heater flunked inspection (I was not given the report) and thus was not specific as to what needed repairing. However as the "water heater kings" I surmised they would be able to look and fix what needed fixing and this is what I advised. The tech told me he was tired from the other job which apparently had been exhausting. This became apparent with the installation of the earthquake straps when a wire was 'nicked". The tech freaked out asking what I wanted done. Well, I didn't know and said tape it. The wires were taped and the blunder recorded on my receipt. Frankly, I wanted him to leave at this point. I consulted my family since I was in escrow and was advised for peace of mind an electrician should be called. I thought George Morlan would take responsibility and send an electrician over but they did not. I was given a phone number for a person named Alice who could not have been less helpful or more rude. She said she would call me back and never did. I called her every day for a week and finally she told me someone would be calling and she passed me back to the Lancaster store where I was told by Brian they were not going to take any responsibility for the "nicked wire." They said I told them to tape it. Was I supposed to leave live wires open and exposed? i wish they would have sent a fresh person the next day as this caused a lot of worry and trouble. In my opinion Alice should be let go as she did NOT represent the company well. She was snippy and sarcastic. Why was I turned over to her? She offered no help and went out of her way to avoid my calls. I advised Brian I would be noting on Angie's List they were 6.5 hours late, never bothering to call, then sent an exhausted employee who damaged my property. Brian called back later that day saying my check would not be cashed however it was. I paid an electrician $70 to replace the damaged wire. He said it was badly damaged. It went through the ground wires too. He felt it would have eventually shorted out without proper repair. I think this is completely ridiculous. I bet old Mr. Morlan would have taken responsibility and sent an electrician to fix this mistake. My home could have caught on fire and neither Alice or the employees cared. Like many companies these days they are more concerned with the bottom line and not customer relations and arm themselves with a dysfunctional mid line management. i will never call the "water heater kings" again. Nor will my buyer or my family who owns commercial properties throughout the Portland area.

They are local to our town. They went back and forth with the inspector about what needed done. They didn't keep contact with us. We were constantly calling them to find updates. My husband had to talk to a manager to get anything done. When they did the work, it was good.
Description of Work: We used George Morlan Plumbing Supply & Service to do some repairs that the inspector required to sell our house. The inspector had a conflict with the way that a water heater that was installed.
