D & D Satellite

Description of Work: Had to have satellite dish removed for roofing project as Direct TV could not figure out what to do and wanted to charge an arm and a leg for service. I have since moved from the OR so would not use this service again for that reason.

Description of Work: We wanted to go from using cable to an antenna to get Portland tv stations. We contacted D&D after doing some research. We knew that a rotating antenna in our attic would not work well, so said we did not want that. After they came out to install the antenna, we had very marginal reception and called them. They said to rotate the antenna by going up in the small crawl space in the attic (my husband is 78!) as needed, so we then learned they had put in a rotating antenna with no way to move it except to go into the attic repeatedly. We told them we had not wanted that kind of antenna and that we had minimal reception. They said our location in the West Salem hills was the problem and they offer no guarantee for reception and that actually a more limited, non rotating antenna would work better for us. We waited several weeks for them to make the exchange, then finally contacted the OR Dept. of Justice consumer division who determined they should have not put in the original antenna and D& D said they would give us our money back. | |We then contacted another antenna service who first used electronic equipment to determine the best kind of antenna and roof placement before installing. Since their installation, we have had absolutely spectacular reception on all Portland stations in all kinds of weather. They took down D&D's antenna which we returned to them and got our money back. A giant hassle.
