After cleaning, the fringe on one rug was crumbling and breaking. Culbertsons sent the rug to Atiyeh Carpets in Portland and had the fringe removed and the ends hand finished to my satisfaction. The problem was with the worry about the repair. It was not fun. Appreciating the attitude and result after the damage, I sent two more to be cleaned. An expensive runner rug was mishandled and the result was the warping of the weave producing waves in the fabric. The rug does not lay flat. They took it back, had it for a month, and no noticeable improvement resulted. They didn't even offer to reduce the cost of the cleaning, $90. I took it to Atiyehs to see about correction. They honestly said nothing could be done to improve it. Though Culbertsons were most polite throughout the encounter, I wouldn't wish this 3 month ordeal on anyone. Beware of what is sent to them for cleaning. My other 2 rugs will be sent to Portland. I had done much business with them 10 years ago. Moved out of the area and returned after 7 years. What happened to the quality control?

This is the second time we have used Culbertson's to clean our wool rug. The rug is expensive (to us) and we did not want to trust it to just anyone. Plus, it is on a laminate floor so steam-cleaning in place didn't seem to be a reasonable option. I took the rug to Culbertson's. They do a lot of this type work, so they have one cleaning per week, after which the rugs are dried. The process takes several days. They clean on Wednesdays, so rugs have to be in their store by Tuesday close of business. The standard wait for the rug's return is the Wednesday following the cleaning day (one week). Ours took a little longer because they had more work than normal, but we still got the rug back in about 10 days. They must have done a second cleaning a day or two after Wednesday. Culbertson's will do a pick-up (I don't know what their service area is), but if you take the rug to them, they give a significant discount. I think I saved $25 simply by driving the rug to their shop. Our rug was returned in immaculate condition. No damage and the colors are bright once more.

The cleaning seemed adequate, but the technician was a bit unpleasant. Not mean, just a bit surly. The large attic space that needed cleaning is unusually shaped (angles, pillars, and a chimney), so he had a difficult time measuring. This is important because they charge $0.41 per square foot. I had no way to check his measurements since my measuring tape was on a moving truck coming from the east coast. I've since determined that his measurements were off and I was overcharged.

We had them clean our very, very old wall to wall carpets that were very matted down in high traffic areas and hadn't been deep cleaned in a long time. We have a light colored long hair cat that leaves his fur all over the dark carpet and constantly battle this too. Our carpets looked beautiful and renewed after the cleaning, the house smelled fresh and it seems like the cat hair doesn't stick as bad now too! My only complaint is that they were about half an hour late and I had to go back to work rather than speak with the tech. My son was home and handled it but I had wanted to meet with him prior to him starting. I would definitely use Culberton's Cleaning Service again and would recommend them.

I stopped by the office to get an estimate and found they could do the work the same day. Within 20 minutes Greg was there ready to go to work. He was very friendly and efficient. Greg took measurements and gave me a price, which I thought was very reasonable. He unloaded equipment and started right in, completing within half an hour. I was surprised at how clean he was able to get the carpet as it was eight years old and an off white color. I would recommend this company to anyone.

They did a really fair job. We were happy with everything.

I selected Culbertson's after seeing the great reviews and getting neighbor recommendations. They did an okay job. Mike arrived shortly after the scheduled time, but had to leave for a bit to go get enough fuel in the truck to do the job. He explained that they had worked a late night job the night before and he was really tired. Once he got started, he worked quickly. The steam cleaning did a fairly good job of getting out ordinary dirt and most of my carpets look much better. However, I had a lot of pet stains in the living room and hall that didn't come out at all. He brought in things to use to protect the legs of my furniture, but never used them. While he was still here, I put some plastic bags under the wheels of an antique sewing machine that will rust, but he didn't take the hint. It was a rainy day with the humidity high and the carpets took about 36 hours to dry completely. The price was reasonable (41c /square foot of area they actually clean less a 20% discount coupon).

He showed up on time and did exactly what was needed. Told me some things to watch out for in the future. I'm very happy with the work.

I have used the services of Culbertson's many times over the years. Although they may be a bit more expensive than some other cleaning services, their commitment and services are impeccable. The work is timely, professional, all questions answered, and they've followed up to see if their services were as expected. If they've noticed something in the process not noticed at the time of estimate, they have either gone ahead and taken care of the problem, or informed me so I could take the necessary action. In addition to in-home cleaning, I have also brought to their facility down comforters to be emptied, the down cleaned and made into pillows. To my knowledge, they are the only business providing this service and it has always exceeded my expectations, is reasonable in cost, and a great way of re-cycling a lumpy down comforter.

I delivered and picked up to save some cost. They showed me into their cleaning room and let me observe how they clean the carpets and groom them. I was pleased with the results. They were able to remove some pet stains and make it look like new except for a little fraying around the edge that I elected not to have repaired.

I delivered rug to store where their worker took it out of my vehicle for cleaning. I was quoted a price & one week completion time. Rug was cleaned in less time than quoted and at the quoted price. It was wrapped in plastic & returned to my vehicle by a worker.

Excellent work on a worn but loved family item. On time, nice smelling (no chemical or sickly odor, just clean wool). I brought it in, and thus saved money. I would use them to clean a collectible rug or fine upholstery without hesitation.

I think they are very reasonable and they have always done a very good job. I've been using them for over 20 years.
