Description of Work: When purchasing the Big Deal for 4 hours, in the comments area I requested one person for 4 hours, rather than 2 persons for 2 hours, which I saw others had in comments about the company. In a phone call, Cravenho said it was not the usual way to do things, that what was put on Angie's List was not communicated to the company. I did not know that, of course, and thought I would mention it in my review as a caution to others. However, I explained that because I was laying click-lock floor myself, I only needed someone to cut some of the boards because I fear using power tools. I did not need anyone to lay the click-lock boards that I have already laid out for a pleasing pattern, as it takes just a few seconds for each board to click down and then one waits for the cut board at the end of the row, to lay the next row. He said ok and confirmed the date of September 25. When he did that, I immediately got permission to take 2 vacation days off work - the 24th and 25th. He called again a week or so ago, which I missed, but tried many times - I have my cell and office phone logs - and could only leave voice messages in response. When I finally reached him I had to ask if it was Cravenho Construction; the date - September 25 was confirmed. Then, at 7:17 p.m. on the 24th, Jason from Cravenho Construction called to confirm the time for the 25th, asking again what the task was and then said he would be sending two people for two hours. (He spoke slowly and deliberately.) When I reminded him why that would not work, that I needed someone around for 4 hours, he said not to worry the second person would help me lay the boards and they would get more done that way. I repeated that it was not a task that I needed help with, that all I needed was someone to use the power saw to cut my pre-measured boards, and re-cut them if needed. He mentioned that he had a team going to a job site at 6 a.m., and these two could work for two hours and then go put in the rest of the day. I said there would not be enough work for two people on my job. He then said that he could have someone drop off a person at 8 a.m. who would work four hours. I said ok. He mentioned again that it would be better to send two people. I said I did not need two people; that we had already talked about it. Then he said that I was asking him to go against his gut feelings about the job need and against his company policies, and that he said he would have someone drop off a guy and that if I was not going to be happy he did not even want the job. Knowing I would not have an opportunity to take another day off work for several months and the stacks of loose boards were all over my living, dining, hall and kitchen, floors and the holidays are coming, which I had mentioned to him, I gave in and said, "Just send whoever you need to send and I'll work with it. Bye." (I dont know why he would think I was unhappy - until the very last thing I said - because I consistently asked for one person for four hours.) The conversation lasted four minutes. Somehow the facts of our communication were twisted and I got blamed for his decision to not honor his company's appointment. I got up at 6 the next morning and did final preparations for the handyman as scheduled, but no one showed up. No one called. In preparation, I barely was able to push my fridge to an area against the dishwasher and cabinet with utensils and dishware, so I could lay boards in the fridge alcove, but now cannot move it again because I pulled up the old floor on the 24th and there is a drop. So now I am without access to much of my kitchen until the new floor is laid. I got a pounding stress headache and total loss of appetite. First thing is to get my $240 back before it is too late.

Description of Work: Services were preformed for roofing and job adequate however trailer left in driveway for two days, didn't supply contract, follow up calls and communication were done by client (me) when company showed up late or additional information was needed. Also, hired for additional job (gutters) in which we set up day and time, no show, I had to call to find out what is going on, they said they were on their way, 4 hours later still no show, no call to me to inform me what was going on. I called company only to leave several messages and still no call back. Reached out through Angie's email, finally hours later, received email explaining that truck Broke down and wanting to reschedule. I canceled additional (gutter) job. Follow up terrible....was the phone broke too?

Description of Work: This company installed a solar attic fan after I purchased a $400 daily deal. I chose to pay $160 more to have a solar fan with electrical back up. Everything seems to work fine, though I haven't been on the roof to view the job. They were several hours late the second time they arrived, however, they seemed to have a valid reason, and were very pleasant to work with.

Description of Work: The workers were friendly, and polite and tried to be helpful. But problems were, poor communication with the scheduler, not having the right materials to do the job, making 2 trips to get the right thickness of drywall, leaving with the job undone because they spent so much time in travel. They left me with instructions on how to complete the job.

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal Roofing package on 7/27. The owner contacted me and told me he would come to my house on Tue 7/28 in the afternoon or Wed 7/29 in the morning to look at the roof. Wed 7/29 he called me and told me he had looked at an aerial view of my house and calculated the roofing costs based on that, and that I would owe an additional $2899.00 for him to put on a new roof. I asked him to email me the details, which he did, and I told him I didn't want to proceed. He told me to ask you for a refund.

Description of Work: They prepped a messy hole with the hours from the deal, and then sent a repair crew on the scheduled day to repair it. Because of setup glitches, I was outside of their area, but they still came through

Description of Work: Recommended a larger fan system for larger home. Larger fan purchased and Contractor notified fan was at our home. Day before appt date, Contractor called and said he had food poisoning and needed to reschedule. I complained stating that I also owned my own business and time away needed to be scheduled. This is what I was sent in return: I run my own business as well and to be honest I would expect someone like yourself would be a little more understanding since I just told you I can provide you with documentation that we are just getting over food poisoning. Clearly you are pretty cold hearted and I think it would be best if you just got your money back from Angies List as I don't want to work for you. And in the future maybe I'll keep my mouth shut regarding the right products for someone's house.

Description of Work: Cravenho installed a solar powered attic fan in our little mid-century ranch. They were very responsive and efficient. Now that we've begun to experience 90 degree heat, I wish we had insisted they install the fan on the side of the house closer to the bedrooms, rather than the kitchen/garage area. The difference is noticeable and will probably warrant a second installation on the other side of the house. Bottom line - very good firm, but the jury is out on the product itself.

Description of Work: They put in a solar roof vent fan, just in time for the hot weather. It is working great! The only thing I wished they had done was give me a receipt for the work done. I had to ask for the paperwork that came with the fan. They guys were nice and knew what they were doing. It only took them less than 45 minutes.
