Color Tile & Carpet of Salem

The job was delayed due to a a worker's family emergency. Once the job started a month later, the tile work was done, but the plumber never showed to finish the shower head, replacement stems and handles. I did quickly receive my bill for the work. It took two more months to order and fix the plumbing myself. Color tile credited my account the allotment for the plumber, but the project management was lax and I didn't have any follow up on the job.

The work is great but they have a slow response for corrections.

We have a family friend who has a company and we're doing some price comparison. Our family friend's company was lower in price. The people who came for Color Tile & Carpet of Salem were really nice but the price is only the difference. It was about 600 sq ft of carpet that we were looking. The guy was really great.

I am not ready to do this project, so was just gathering facts. They got back to me promptly with the information and were very helpful.

We are very, very happy with it. The flexibility with everyone was what I liked. I worked with one person but if he wasn't there, everybody else knew exactly what was going on with me. I could talk with anybody, they have a wonderful crew. I highly recommend them.

Day one they don't show till 10:30 and he thinks I'm a construction company, then I invite him in and say no I need this grout removed, he says he doesn't do regrouts but starts to look at the space. He asks how many tiles I have extra and its only three, so he proceeded to pull some tiles and reset them properly. He then asks if I have a shop vac so he can start, and I did so I let him use it thinking he would bring theirs the next time (which he didn't and filled mine up with no disposal and cleanup of it). He left at 4 and said he would be back the next day with help, well 10:30 by himself, my vac and 3:30 he is ready to leave except after he has cleaned up he realizes he hadn't done the bathroom. He says it will just take a minute in the morning before installing the epoxy grout, and he will bring someone to sponge while he grouts and it will take no time. The next day he shows up at 11:30, no call by himself ten minutes later tells me he has forgot the epoxy back at the office. Back at 1 o'clock left at 7 pm stating he was done. I questioned him on all the slick areas and the texture change, he said that they would just wear off, yeah right, color tile had to call grout genius out and 5 hours of buffing with cleaners did they get my floors back to being able to walk on. Thanks Grout Genius (the door handles on 6 doors had epoxy on them along with my stove).

The sellers were professional and they worked hard and worked over time to get the job done. They were timely and we were very happy with them. Our overall experience with them was good.

It was very good. He was excellent. He was really good and knowledgeable. He knew all about cleaning. He was very good.

The tile recommended by color tile was gorgeous with my existing room as was the final install of tile. However, the mess they left during installation was unbearable. They set up their tile cutting equipment in my dressing area which has cedar walls, mirrors, windows, curtains, carpeting and 15-20 feet of counters. None of the items on the counters or the curtains and mirrors were covered prior to their using their equipment. Consequently the entire room was filled with fine dust from cutting the tiles. They did attempt to clean it up including sending my bedspread to the cleaners but failed to get it all. Remnants of the dust are still to this day appearing. I received no compensation via deductions in my bill for the mess and my having to wash all counter items by hand nor did any official come to look at what I was dealing with. They even emptied their dust pan in my outside garbage can which ended up flying in my face when I went to empty my garbage in the container.

I called Color Tile and they told me to have my Assistant Mgr come and pick out carpet at their showroom. My Assistant Mgr and wife went down on a Saturday and picked out some reasonably priced carpet and vinyl. Color Tile called back on Monday to schedule the time to come out and install the carpet. We had to reschedule with them because of the weather and the rescheduled time was very appropriate. We didn't have to wait a long time to get another appointment. The salesman came out a couple of days before the installation was to be done and went over the contract with me. We told them we would be taking out the furniture and replace the baseboards so we wouldn't have that charge. They came out at the scheduled time and put the carpet and vinyl in quickly and professionally. The installers even stayed late to complete the job. I was very pleased with their professionalism and quickness of the installation.

Arrived on time. Got right to work. Did a good job. Left it clean when they were done.

It went quickly and well.

Needed a thick carpet pad that would not hurt our newly refinished oak floors and yet not slip under a 5x8 area rug.
