Castle Stone Tile

First Kyle and his helper washed the flooring and dried it thoroughly. It looked great. They hardibacked the main floor correctly using 1/8" gapping on the main floor. However, on the top floor, there wasn't the required 1/8" gapping in many areas. Kyle is great at laying tile. Very, very, very picky with following the pattern, making sure he stays on line, and ensuring the grout lines are correctly spaced. Once he put the tile down he then grouted. Running out of time, he and his helper were not as careful. There are 3 places where the thinset shows through (it is dark grey in a medium brown grout), and at least half a dozen places where they walked and placed equipment on the wet grout creating dents. They also left a couple of very wide spots on the edges where we will have to finish the job by grouting it so that the baseboard covers. There are only 3 places where grouting needed to be placed and then cut back at an angle to put caulk and they missed one altogether so we will have to do that ourselves also. Once they left, I had to clean the brand new (and painted) walls thoroughly. Here, I found at least 6 dents in the drywall that will need a little fill and repainting and about 2 dozen scratches on the walls that will need repainting.
