Description of Work: My mother used C & R to replace her existing Premier shower unit with a walk in tiled shower. The shower is beautiful and the workmanship is top notch. From start to finish, they were so professional, personable and very knowledgable. I was especially impressed with both Andrew and Beth (owners)who were so respectful and truly helped us walk through the process. They started and finished the project on time and cleaned up after themselves. I can't say enough good things about the experience my Mom had. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: C and R remodeled our front porch (complete redesign and rebuild) and our walkway to accommodate a disability. They eliminated 8 steps and approximately 40 inches of rise. The project is still in design phase, but we have nothing but good things to say. They listened to our needs and came up with a design that is fantastic. They kept costs down by letting us do the demolition and part of the construction. Great folks to work with. We'll update this post when the project is completed.

The staff person was prompt, thorough and didn't waste any time. When paying at an hourly rate, I appreciate someone who gets the job done without "contemplating" the work.
Description of Work: Had curtain rods and variety of artwork installed on low and high walls.
They said they would get back to me and I waited and they never got back to me. I called them back and they said someone would call me with the estimate and they never did. I was very disappointed. I thought the person that came out was very helpful. I still haven't gotten the deck work done. They were responsive in initially coming out. It is hard to tell if I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I asked for an estimate for a deck. It needs to be power washed and stained. I also wanted an estimate for work inside the house and outside.

This was certainly not our best day and not our usual way of caring for clients. We sincerely apologize for the misstep.

The remodeling work done directly by this company was excellent and fairly priced. There was a short delay in first getting started with the work but overall the company employees were professional and punctual. While tearing out the original doors, etc., they were neat and did not create a mess throughout the house. The job was completed efficiently and as bid for. *this company is nka C and R Builders, Inc. and is partnered with the Case Handyman Service.
Description of Work: I contracted with the company for removal and replacement of a pair of exterior french doors, a single exterior door, and the related casements, thresholds, etc. They (through a sub contractor) were also to paint/stain the new doors, casements, etc.

I contacted 3 different companies I found on Angie's List, because I needed my deck cleaned and refinished, and a handful of other exterior repairs done (including repainting some areas where exterior paint was peeling, patching some cracked masonry, and cleaning one storm window). Case asked the most questions and spent the most time with me when they visited to do the estimate, and provided the most detailed estimate (I got one other estimate, it was cheaper, but not very detailed, and the last of the 3 companies never provided any estimate). Case wanted 1/3 of the estimate amount, so I sent that in, and then work started about a month later, pretty much when they told me it would. I was told the work would take 2-3 days, but it ended up taking over a week between when work started and finished. Partly that was because I added a couple more jobs for Case to do (replace some deck treads, remove and clean a window), but mostly it was just because Case's workers came for short amounts of time, did some work, then left, to return another day. But the important part of the job - fixing and cleaning and refinishing the deck, only took 3-4 days from start to finish, which was good, because we only lost the use of our deck for that short time. All work was done exactly as I had asked for and expected; the only nit was that when they thought they were done, they had actually missed some masonry cracks and had cleaned the wrong window - but when I told them, it was taken care of right away. Case seems to have a lot of staff - one guy (the owner) came to do the estimate, a second guy (their lead carpenter maybe?) came to review the job just before it started, and then all or most of the work was actually done by two other guys. This might have been the reason why some items were initially missed, because there were 2 or 3 layers of communication where things could go wrong. Case was always easy to reach by phone or email and always got back to me the same day if I had to leave a message. I would definitely hire them again, although I would still try to get some other estimates - Case is comparatively expensive, though in this case you do get what you pay for.
Description of Work: Miscellaneous handyman work, included: - Repair, clean and refinish wooden deck - Patch cracked masonry - Minor exterior house painting, gutter repair, window cleaning

The guy was very professional and prompt. He was very pleasant and didn't make me sign a contract before. I asked his office about him and his character and other stuff he has done. The reason I asked is so I would know who is around the house, because we had an elderly person in the house and I was concerned. They assured me that he is safe. He was very reputable and courteous. Very neat work. He knew what he was doing!
Description of Work: Had my garage refinished. They brought the vents around the house up to code. They replaced the old sidings, and re-caulk some windows. They rehung the gutters and downspouts. Put up moss guard on the garage.

First meeting we were going to build out into garage. After discussing options we decided to create an addition instead. I created preliminary drawings and architect built from that. The process was formal and contract was drawn up. It took about six weeks to contract. Then another eight weeks to begin construction. A long time. Once construction began things went very smoothly. The lead carpenter and helper did most of the work. The subs for concrete, digging, roofing, insulating, heating and drywall were very professional and did a super job on time. The only complaint was drywall dust in the house. This contractor was expensive, but well worth it.
Description of Work: Created a new 16 x 20 office addition to match existing structure.
