Dean did everything possible to satisfy me as a customer. There was a minor miscommunication which was likely as much my fault as his, if not more, and he still agreed to do some additional work that I thought was included in the original price. I have an old house with ducting of different vintages and sizes, so it presented a considerable challenge. I am very pleased with the final result.

He came on time, low fee, but his diagnosis was; the whole system would cost at least $2,000 plus to get working again. So he recommended to put even more money and get a brand new system for $5,000, that matched the square footage of the house better. He didn't put all the bolts back on the unit outside and, though the air cleaner also wasn't working, he left it taken apart. The clincher is; we got the AC to start working again, ourselves with just a new capacitor, that we bought online for $15. And added a 4" air filter for $15. (I do have to say; he helped us with the knowledge that the capacitor was not working, and also warned us that the R410 was most likely low.) After we installed the new capacitor and system was working, We asked another company to come and do a service check. They did end up adding a small amount of R410. They said they are surprised to see an older AC still working in this condition. (I also want to add the second company also said this is a small unit for this square footage sized home, so that was true and confirmed) I told both companies; we are not interested, at this time, in a new unit. So to sum it up: I felt the technician (though quite knowledgable at his job) wasn't listening to our needs. I feel he saw an opportunity to use a high repair tactic, just to get us to upgrade to a brand new unit. This unit is working just fine, needed minimal repair, and at a HUGE fraction of his estimated price.

I've used them before but as I said they didn't do anything this last time.

I put in 3 suggested service dates and did not hear from them after a couple weeks. I emailed Angie's list who contacted them and I have still not heard from them. Not even a phone calls to say they are really busy. I decided to get a refund.

Sadly, as often is the case with deals, they are overbooked and failed to contact me within a week of placing the order. They also failed to list specific zip codes and they cannot service Vancouver which is typically considered part of greater Portland Metro area. The young woman sounded nice, but clearly this deal has them overwhelmed.

Placed order July 3rd. No call to schedule after several days. Kept calling and was told 'I'll call tomorrow to schedule'. No call. Called back July 7th and she said 'I forgot'. She advised first appointment was 3rd week of September. Said they were over booked. Made no apology and said 'call Angie's List customer service'. I checked Angie's List and offer was still being made. Cancelled order with Customer Service, who referred me to another vendor.

It went great! It was by far the most cost effective option that I found and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. The tech was extremely professional and the sales staff in the office were pleasant.

After reading the many wonderful reviews on Angie List about this company, we gave them and a couple others a call. They seemed the most reasonably priced and were able to get to us pretty quickly (with in a week) during a very busy and a time of unseasonably hot weather. I appreciated the calls to remind me the tech would be coming, as well as a follow-up call saying he might possibly arrive earlier than expected. (didn't happen but that was fine) I appreciated the friendliness of the repairman who went right to work and had diagnosed the issue and installed a new part (not sure however if the part installed was a Trane part or another brand) all in less than 20 mins. Know that I am not one to leave negative comments, but also I feel that the reviews I read lead me to this company. Maybe others might want to know in advance my story to be ahead of the game in this situation should you want to go with Aireserv to avoid my pitfalls. Where things fell apart for me however was that our unit was still under warranty which I mentioned as soon as the repair man stepped from his vehicle. I asked if he could indeed look at and repair my unit if it was still under warranty and had been installed my another company. I showed him my warranty papers and he noted some numbers. He assured me he could do the job. When he was ready to leave and I had asked repeatedly how the warranty worked, I was still baffled. Instead I held in my hand what I thought was a pretty steep price for the repair. (the website promised a 59.99 diagnostic that would come off the bill if they indeed were hired to do the work) Yes, they came at a busy time, yes, they had a part, yes, they drove to my house using their gas and yes, the repairman is trained for repairs and needs to earn a wage as well as enough to pay for the office staff and make money for the business, but I still felt the cost per hr was way to high. (just under 300.00) In calling the next business day and asking if indeed the cost included the part, I was told I needed to call Trane directly to settle that issue. I called Trane and they sent me back to the repair company. Over the course of one month I called 6 times trying to get answers to the bill, the warranty and how to proceed. Each time the receptionist was most pleasant and understanding to my repeated calls and frustration. I left my number each time as well as my email per her suggestion. In the end, 32 days after the fact I was able to speak with a different gentleman who gave me the rules of making money in business. In the end I told him it was not about the money but being treated openly and honestly. After listening to him for quite awhile he did offered a compensation of 80.00 which I took and have since received the check. I would go with this company again, IF....I felt that I would be treated honestly and fairly and openly. The gentleman I spoke with said he would be bring this issue up again at a staff meeting since I was not told ahead of the repair being done what the cost was going to be. I was also told many people are surprised at the cost of repairs but are happy to have the repairs done and understand how business works and money needs to be made. Because of this I am a bit more cautious now. I prefer not to be the one beating down the door of a business for a response to my questions. I suggest making sure everything is up front before they touch your unit and do any work have it all in writing to protect yourself, your unit and your time after the repair.

While investigating a potential freon leak, I was told there was a gas smell around my furnace and the technician's gas detecting device seemed to confirm it. However, another technician that was sent out by my home warranty plan to fix the leak told me there was no leak and, just to be extra sure, I called NW Natural who sent someone out immediately to make sure there was no leak. He also told me there was no leak and suspects the device used by the first tech was not calibrated correctly. So, in addition to the affordable price for the first tech ($49), I had to pay another $100 to the second one so the Angie's List bargain ended up costing me more than if I hired someone directly. .

They did a good job. The technician was professional and on-time and explained the inner workings of my air conditioning and furnace system. The only thing I wish he would have done was to explain all of the checks he did (it was a 20-point inspection and tune-up) and the status of these. It may just be that he didn't go over each of the points because my unit has much bigger problems, as it turns out!

They arrived on time and there were (originally) three men on the team. They asked some questions and then set right to work. The team was professional, friendly and hard-working. They answered any questions I had, and included me in some of the decisions they were making. It took several hours to complete. Everything worked well. The next day I noticed that the duct work on the furnace had developed a small leak. They came back and repaired it immediately. Within less than a week, my air conditioner wasn't working. It was after 5:00 on Friday. I called and got an immediate response. Someone was sent on Sunday to fix it. A small part had failed and since he didn't have it with him, he somehow repaired it so the air conditioner worked. He came the next day with a new part. Someone from the county came to inspect the work that had been done. The water heater lacked a pipe for drainage, and I was told the county would inform Aire Serv. That was not done. I called Aire Serv and they said they would get in touch with the county; everything is working well, and the pipe placement will be done soon. I have now met 5 of the team that works for Aire Serv, and spoken with 3 more on the phone. This team is professional and responsive. They work hard to make sure that the job is done well, and that I am happy with the work.

On time, professional visit. Cleaned and serviced the unit, pointed out safety concerns and offered solutions.

I thought they listened well to the needs and proposed a good furnace solution. Installation was smooth. Post-installation, though, has been a bit disquieting. Shortly after install I got an envelope in the mail from them addressed to a different last name. I guessed it was intended for me anyway and opened it. It had a copy of an application to Lennox in my name for an extended warranty, denied. This was surprising since I thought I was buying a unit with extended warranty. Eventually I figured out that Lennox' denial was because the unit came with the longer warranty so no extended warranty was available; all Aire Serv had managed to do was purportedly bind me to arbitration with Lennox. Very strange. The Saturday after install the thermostat reported, "Unable to contact furnace." Since I had 24/7 first year service I thought I'd call. Aire Serv basically took the position that they didn't like or do after-hours support for the thermostat I'd specified (a Lyric instead of the Lennox proprietary). In fact at that point their recollection was that they "had tried to talk me out of the Lyric." We had had no such conversation. They were willing to talk me through hot-wiring the furnace, but temperatures were mild and that wasn't what I was after; I was mostly just trying to determine whether there was an issue with the furnace. I scheduled Monday service, but eventually figured out that they had installed the thermostat with a dead battery. Disappointing on a big ticket item. By the way, still happy with the Lyric and don't regret at all not buying the Lennox.

Friendly professional employees who worked all day without a lunch break to finish the job. Happy with the quality of the install and the entire process.

The gentleman was professional and prompt. He explained what he was doing along the way. He cleaned up before leaving.

It was fine. We bought a cheap furnace, so I'm not too sure about the quality.
