Description of Work: Annual check of furnace. Annual replacement of filter. Replaced thermostat. Tech said UV bulb in pollen filter needs replacing; I paid for it at the time of service. However, Three weeks later and after me calling the company about it, the bulb still hasn't been replaced and no return date to finish the job has been made. I already paid for another service date (air conditioner check in the Spring), so depending on how that goes will determine if they lose me as a client after two years.

Description of Work: Trevor, the technician at Aire Serv did such a great job at my rental property where the AC unit needed deep cleaning and repair that I asked him to come back and perform maintenance work on my home units. The office guy was also kind enough to offer some discounts on the service for repeated business.

Description of Work: The original purchase was for a tune-up. Once the scheduling issue was corrected, the service man came early and did an extremely thorough job! Description of Work: I had an Angie's coupon for a $29.00 house call. The tech arrived in a timely manner and walking out to the heat pump from his van he diagnosed the problem as a burnt rectifier. I had looked it up online and was thinking the same thing. He asked if I wanted him to fix it for |$250 and when I gulped he said "or do you want to do it yourself. Since it involved unscrewing the cover and one screw holding the part and then unplugging the 4 wires and then plugging in 4 wires and the clamp and the cover... 5 minutes worth of work, all I had to do was order one online for $29.00, which I did. So I guess it was good. He didn't do any other checks for anything else. I'm glad I could do it though. $250 for a $29 part and five minutes of work seems a little steep but checking online this is what they get for this. I'm in the wrong business!

Description of Work: Was a no show the first scheduled appointment. Couldn't get a new date until 2 weeks later. This time the tech showed up on time and did a reasonably professional service of my furnace and heat pump. Found a couple defective parts which he replaced for $300. Have no idea if that was a fair price.

Description of Work: compaany uses a $39.99 "tune up" to tell you about multiple expensive repairs needed (including "cleaning of the unit," which translated into spraying through the grill to eliminate leaves and spider webs.) The technician was very efficient and professional and did what the company told him to do to increase repair costs.

After they are completed, they go through everything with you. If they see something that needs addressed above and beyond the tune up, they will present it to you with an estimate to do the repair. Description of Work: Technician didn't have suitable filters for my system. Didn't change or clean any of the 3 filters. Didn't check for gas leaks. Left both the thermostat and heater/ air turned off. Although they have done my service in the past had no record of what had been done or even information about my system.

Thanks for the review [member's name removed]. I talked with Trevor about your call. He remembered going to your house and no one was home for the first hour of the appointment while he was there working. Your dad came over and didn't want to use the 1" filters that were there and wanted to install some 2" filters that Trevor showed him wouldn't fit unless we modified the existing filter rack. Trevor didn't have the right material on his van to do this modification, but said he could go get it, and your Dad said no. He did go through the entire furnace and did check for gas leaks with an electronic gas sniffer (same one NW Natural uses) and found none. He was never told of anything being wrong with the system and our notes from when the appointment was booked didn't mention anything except that you wanted a routine maintenance. I'll be happy to send him back over when you're home at no additional cost to go through everything with you again while you watch him. Sorry that you feel we let you down. Description of Work: looked at my furnace and said needed new one or replace circuit board through them for $600. I bought new board online for around $200 when I went to install it I noticed loose wire on circuit board so plugged it in and wa lah,furnace worked fine. Too bad service guy didn't catch that first, would have saved me $200.

Thanks for the review (Removed member name). I looked into your service call. It shows your control board was showing a pressure switch error code, but the pressure switch and wiring going into your control board were ohming out correctly, indicating your control board was not accepting the signal to let the furnace continue on it's sequence of operation. I'm glad it is working for you now. After a lot of years doing repair work, I have seen quite a few times where control boards will stick and work intermittently after being handled. It is not uncommon to have it start working again, but our stand on the matter is that if it failed once, then we will always recommend to replace the part or replace the furnace if the system is old enough. Description of Work: Right after I took advantage of the coupon on maintenance for our heat pump I noticed that it was not cooling properly. | |When the technician came he discovered the capacitor on the compressor side of the heat pump had failed. He replaced it and the system was up and running again.

Description of Work: On Wednesday, August 5th, Manny, at Aire Serve, set up an Angies List Big Deal offer appointment with me for today (August 12th) between 3 PM and 5 PM, with an advance call to me to be made to me at least 30 minutes in advance of estimated arrival during this time frame. Having not heard from anyone at 5:05 pm this evening, I called the Aire Serve business number and reached Aireserve's answering service. I left word for them to call me. Less than 5 minutes later, a tech from Aireserve called me on the secondary number I had left with Manny (cell number). He was not aware of my call to their answering service minutes prior, but said he was taking over calls for another service tech who had gotten way behind and could be at my house in about an hour. I told him it was too late now and I would be gone. I explained to him the missed appointment with no courtesy call made and told him they would need to call me back and reschedule the appointment. He apologized for the missed appointment, saying that it had just been turned over to him. I told him that was fine but they need to call and reschedule. About 5 minutes after this call, a guy called saying he was the operations manager for Aireserve and asked me the nature of my message to their answering service. I explained to him that last Wednesday, August 5th, Manny had set up an appointment for me between 3 pm and 5 pm today for the Angies List Big Deal offer, with a telephone call notification to be made to me at least 30 minutes prior to arrival, but nobody had called or shown up by 5:05 pm today, so that's why I had called. I also told him that one of their techs had called just about 5 minutes before his call and wanted to come by in about an hour, but I had told him that it was too late now, I was going to be gone and they would have to call back to reschedule. This guy started interrupting and hollering " BUT WHAT WAS THE NATURE OF YOUR CALL". I told him to quit hollering at me and that I had a explained to him that it is an Angies List "Big Deal" call. He jumped back at me and hollered that I'm the one being "snooty". I told him to get f****d and that I was cancelling and getting my money back. He said the language is recorded, to which I said "good". He then proceeded to tell me the different kinds of calls in their world (e.g. emergency, maintenance, etc.) I don't know if this guy couldn't hear my repeated explanation that it was an Angie's List Big Deal appointment set up a week ago (August 5th), or if he didn't know what the "Big Deal" is (some operations manager in that event). I ended the conversation, again stating that I'm cancelling the whole deal and getting my money back and hung up. I will not tolerate this horse's a** hollering and talking down to me after they blew the appointment!! His hollering and condescending attitude was worthy of at least what I told him. If you don't think so, listen to the recording. I want NOTHING to do with this outfit and want a full refund please. The Big Deal Coupon Code is HVAC-2185016-1, and the amount paid, on VISA, is $39.00. I will not recommend this company to ANYONE.

Description of Work: Initially came to run a diagnostic on my air conditioning unit. And came out the same day I called! The unit was like 20 years old.... It was shot, by 9 am the next morning they were back installing a brand new ac unit! Very professional, nice, and worked very hard! They also ran into a complication with our house and took the extra effort to fix! This is the second time I used their company, and I plan on sticking with them every time! They made our hot summer enjoyable instead of unbearable :)
