They were awesome. They gave me several suggestions about how could I save power and money in my electrical bill. Also, I know now how preventive maintenance helps me to avoid a lot of problems. I strongly recommend dealing with them.

They were really good. They're a brand-new company. They made an appointment. He called and asked if he could come earlier and he came. He did the work. He cleaned everything up when he was done. He came up and showed me how to work that thermostat which was easy. It's really a good company and a good experience. I would use them again if something is wrong with my furnace.

It was during the hottest days of the summer and we had to wait a number days before installation but it was no fault of the provider. A number a their workers came to the house for various reasons and each and everyone of them were very professional and attentive to the purpose of their visit.

I wasn't sure if my A/C needed charged (less expensive), or maybe if the condenser had failed (more expensive), so I called for service. When Chris arrived, he was friendly and attentive and got right to work diagnosing the problem. After checking the inside unit, he moved on to the outside unit and within about 5 minutes, he was able to determine that my capacitor had failed. Before starting the replacement, he let me know how much the cost would be and verified it was okay to make the repair. After I gave the go ahead, he went out to his van and got the necessary parts and was able to complete the repairs and button the unit back up within about 10-15 more minutes, and we had a working A/C again. Altogether, he was here and gone in about 45 minutes, and the cost was about what I was hoping for, somewhat in between the less and more expensive possibilities. The only problem I had, and the reason I gave a B for responsiveness, is that I had used the option on their website to schedule an appointment online since they had that available, and after submitting my request, I received a response that my request had been received and I would be called soon, however, after a couple hours had gone by without being called back, I called them and they said they hadn't received my online request at all. To their credit though, they didn't get lower than a B for that because when I did call, they did take down my info and get me worked into their schedule for that same day, and they were here within the range of time they said they would be. They did apologize for the online request failure and say that they would look into why that happened so they could correct it and make sure it didn't happen again. After my dealing with Chris in person later, I have no reason to doubt that they won't get that corrected. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them again myself the next time I have a problem with my A/C or furnace.

Improvement was immediate, if costly.

Michael arrived on time and started with the furnace. He disassembled the components, cleaned them, and explained each step of the procedure as he performed it. Found two small gas leaks that he repaired. He explained the importance of changing the air filters not only in terms of air quality, but also in protecting the components of the furnace that are cooled by air flow. The air conditioner was next and again, he found no major problems. He did indicate where bark dust was getting into the cooling coils and recommended removal with a hose. Refrigerant level was fine. Afterwards, we talked about the possibility of adding valves to the conduit at the furnace in order to better balance the flow of air to the upstairs. This was a great experience and I highly recommend Air Serv.

They had a great price for the service on Angies list which I didn't know at the time I called to set up an appointment for the service. The woman in the office informed me of all the special pricing they had at the time to save money. They were on time for the service and were very dedtailed in their cleaning and checking the unit. I have had the service done before and it didn't come close to the job that was done this time. I had an electrical relay that was going bad on the AC unit and I had them change that out and add freon to the unit. That is why the price was higher than the advertised price on Angies List. I feel that the service was above what any other company had done for me in the past and would highly recommend this company.

All went well - guy knew what he was doing and did repair. I was a little surprised when he didn't clean the leaves out of the bottom of the unit - he said it makes no difference and won't hurt anything to leave them there. I was disturbed by the push to join their maintenance program - I think it was like $169 a year and a service person will come out 2 x a year to service your air conditioner in spring and furnace early fall - plus you get 15% off parts (& labor?) - not quite sure I remember correctly. Any way, I did feel some pressure to purchase this "deal" and didn't really like that. Oh, & folks in this program get priority service over non-participants, so now I am 2nd class because I did not buy this program. I'm sure the serviceman basically had to offer this program and he did so nicely but over a month later I still find it left me with some resentment. Fix it, tell me how much, I'll pay. Please don't try to sell me anything!

Chris is the owner of the company and was very pleasant and informative. He arrived early ( much appreciated ) and was quick. He checked my furnace as well. It was so good to have my AC working again after being without if for 4 days. I learned from Chris that there is no additional fee for emergency service and I could have called earlier for repair instead of waitng over the weekend. I would use to service again without a second thought.

They handled everything and worked well with the renter.

Great guys and good service. Our AC stopped working -- big problem considering the current temperatures. I purchased a deal through Angie's and then followed it up with an email. I expected to be told I'd have to wait weeks. In fact, I got a response to the email almost immediately with a promise that I would get a call first thing in the morning - which I did! The appointment maker was professional and kind; my appointment got scheduled for THAT DAY! WOW! The tech showed up, got everything cleaned up, gave us some advice, and was on his way. It was a very, very good experience. They are on my list of favorites.

Everything went really well. This company is very professional, and very meticulous. It took a little longer to get everything completed but in the end, Chris and his team went all out to make me happy. It's obvious that satisfying the customer is a top priority to this company.

After an inspection of the heat pump and furnace, it was determined that both units were 30 years old. I decided to replace both units without any pressure from the contractor. They did not try to over sell anything. The work was completed the next day flawlessly. The contractors were very professional and courtious at all times. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

Work was done quickly and professionally. Repairman knew exactly what needed to be done based on my descriptions of the problems. He was very personable and gave me good advice on how long to continue to repair an old furnace like mine, and when to cut your losses and get a new one.

Overall. The service was excellant from start to finish. Was I suprised? You bet I was. I never expected to be treated with respect not only for me but my home as well. Rick, well I cannot say enough good things about Rick. Expert workmanship, intergrity and loyalness to his trade. EXCELLANT!!!

Overall experience was great.

Prior visiting our home, the owner called me and we had a good phone conversation. He listened to my description of the issue and offered some suggestions that wouldn't cost any money such as turning the power switch off and on to see if the system would reset. Since the trouble was still happening, he scheduled an appointment and arrived on time. Replacing the part took no time at all. The furnace has been working great ever since and it is now four months later. Of the many contractors we've had come to the house over the years, A-1 was one of the very best. I will definitely call them again if needed as well as refer them to others.

They were great and actually did a bit more to prevent future problems from occuring.

The furnace in our mobile home had gone out right in the middle of a cold spell here in Hillsboro. We did our research and chose Ross at A-1 Air to come out to assess the problem because of his high ratings through Angie's List and through the BBB. We were not disappointed. Ross was prompt, efficient, friendly, honest and hard working - and the price was right! He even offered us a couple of space heaters to use during the repair time. We wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

As the cold snap continued, my furnace failed to reliably ignite. On a very chilly Sunday morning, I searched Angie's List for a service provider. Only one provider personally answered his phone that day, Ross McBride, owner of A-1 Air Heating and Cooling. I expressed my surprise and Mr. McBride chuckled and answered, in part, "Well... all I have to sell is my service.". BINGO! Mr. McBride came to the house the same day (Sunday). He invited my observation/participation if I wanted and freely shared his assessment, recommended repair and costs. Within an hour, he repaired a condensation leak that kept the jets from igniting. We also observed other evidence of chronic leaks. Mr. McBride tightened some clamps and asked me to watch the area. When I asked what I owed him, he explained, "Nothing 'til you're satisfied." Mr. McBride called to check in the next day. The first repair remained successful and the furnace ran normally, but water still appeared away from the jets. Mr. McBride again come to house, observed/assessed the leak and we discussed the part needed, timetables and costs. All repairs have been completed to my satisfaction. HIRE THIS COMPANY! Postscript: I did receive call-backs from the other providers 24 hours after Ieft my messages on that very chilly Sunday morning - by then I'm sure my house temperature would have fallen to the 50's - and no, I didn't any help!

A change in the sound of the heat pump prompted a call before there was a serious problem. Everything was checked, cleaned, a part that showed wear was replaced before it failed. I was happy with the work and the information he gave us about the system.

I contacted A-1 and left a message (6:30am). Ross returned my call within a few minutes. I explained my situation, that the HVAC would start up the fan and then shutdown after the air clearing cycle had completed. I gave him the code that was blinking. Ross scheduled an appointment with me for that morning, tentatively set for 10:30am. He said he would call me back when he was leaving his customer to go to my house. Ross called me back mid morning and let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time and immediately got to work. He asked me to turn on the heat, then off, etc. He quickly diagnosed the problem to the igniter and showed me how it functions and exactly what was wrong with it. He checked and cleaned the flame checker too. After Ross replaced the igniter, he put the HVAC covers back on and the problem was solved! I had heat again! Yippee Kai Yay! :) Ross is a very nice man and provides a high quality service. While I hope I never have to call him again, if I have HVAC problems, he's my man! Thank you Ross!

I scheduled several Heating/AC companies to come out and give me estimates. Dan was approximately $1000 less than any of the others. I scheduled him to come out and install and he was here bright and early, as promised, and got the AC in that day, despite some challenges finding the exact right location for the unit. Everything has worked perfectly and the house was nice and cool all summer long.

Heater gas valve was intermittent. A difficult problem to troubleshoot. Got the problem isolated in an hour with a little luck and the valve was replaced promptly the next morning. Take care, Ross. Jim.

My furnace quit blowing air out but I could hear the burners firing up. Naturally furnaces always go bad on the coldest days of the year and always after 5 p.m. After messing with it for half an hour I called Ross. It was "after hours" but he returned my call within 10 minutes and scheduled an appointment for the next day. When he got here and turned the furnace back on it worked perfectly.... He couldn't find anything wrong with it and tested it repeatedly. He decided to just give it a thorough cleaning and tune up. This is an OLD furnace, but I'm hoping to get a little more life out of it. I've used Ross before and will use him again. He's punctual, responsive and his prices are fair.
