The technician was very thorough. He checked out the entire heating unit and air conditioner. I needed a new capacitor for the heater which cost $111.00. I was very happy with the service provided.

Scheduling handled very professionally and courteously. Good communication about time of arrival and that provider would be a few minutes late. Professional van with nice graphics, provider in uniform. He listened to me, worked on my furnace for about an hour and found 1 marginal part that could use replacing. I decided to have the replacement done, seemed reasonable. Provided a full report and put a furnace service sticker on my furnace Paid with credit card. I was very happy with the experience and the work.

Trevor came out on time and was very professional and courteous . He explained everything in detail and made sure I knew exactly what was needed to ensure the health of our HVAC system. Having been burned before on these types of furnace checks I figured that the $49.99 Checkup was just going to be an opportunity for them to get their foot in the door and would lead to some expensive repairs (Whether needed or not). When Jerime took his first look at the furnace and saw the Brand Name and Year (1994) he remarked that the Heat Exchangers from that era were widely known to be of poor quality and most all of them had cracked or failed in some manner by this time. I said to myself, yep here it comes-The buildup to the revelation that I need a new Heat Exchanger and who knows what else. Well, that was not to be the case. Jerime thorouly cleaned, checked and authenticated all of the necessary checkpoints on both Heater and Air Conditioner and after two hours announced that everything was in top condition after 21 years of unfailing usage. Total charge? The aforementioned $49.99! A personable and very likeable young man who came to the site completely prepared to do a top notch job. Being a guy who loves tolls I was really envious of all the neat testing and calibrating tools he kept pulling out of his pockets and case. If I were to have any future problems with this equipment I would not hesitate to call them again and if this time they found that parts needed replacement I would have every confidence that they REALLY did need to be replaced. And, of course, I would request that they please send Jerime,, GREAT JOB.

Contacted the vendor to provide HVAC diagnostic services as I was concerning about the upstairs blower fan making more noise than usual when the air conditioner was running. They replaced the capacitor in the unit; however, the excessive noise I was concerned about when the air conditioner was on was not really addressed.

A YOUNG MAN CAME OUT TO GIVE MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT A COMPLETE TUNE UP. HE WAS HERE ON TIME. HE CALLED BEFORE HE CAME TO LET ME KNOW HE WAS ON HIS WAY. HE WAS CLEAN AND DRESSED PROFESSIONAL. I WAS TOLD BY THE COMPANY HE WOULD BE HERE ABOUT TWO HOURS. I REALLY AT THE TIME DID NOT THINK THAT THEY WOULD SPEND TWO HOURS ON A FORTY NINE DOLLAR DEAL. BUT HE DID. HE CHECKED EVERYTHING. Unless you have a penchant for communicating via hand puppets and an overhead projector we highly recommend that you avoid these folks. They simply never showed up for an apt. made a couple of weeks ago. Then they claimed we never made an apt. This was keystone cops at its finest. The office help is overly confused and confusing to follow and they like to blame you for their ineptness. The person that showed up for the initial inspection was, to put it mildly, not exactly a people person bordering on depressive. Numerous phone conversations going nowhere fast and mounting frustration over a business where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Look elsewhere!
Description of Work: We purchased an inspection from Aire Serv Heating through Angie's List. Afterwards, based on their recommendation, we scheduled an apt. for cleaning and maintenance. They never showed up.

Bought a LivingSocial deal to have our A/C tuned up and serviced for 59 dollars. Called at 4:50pm on a Friday to make an appointment and got the answering service. I gave them all my information and they told me I would receive a call back on Monday. By Thursday, I decided to call them because I had not heard anything. They were apologetic and scheduled my service. When the technician came out, he insisted that the LivingSocial deal was for an inspection only (even though the deal I had printed and presented to him said 'service'). He tried to up sell us a coil cleaning for 120 and a new condenser coil for 300. Our A/C is 2 years old and has never had any issues. I had a different company come out for a second opinion and they said that the air conditioner was in amazing shape and cleaned it as part of their tune-up service. We will never use this company again. They have a low price so they can get in the door and try to up-sell the customer. Very unethical and bad business practice.

On Friday July 17 at 4:45p I called them and got their answering service. They post that their business hours are open till 5p. But I knew it was late on a Friday and did not expect a call back till Monday. The answering service advised they would page them regarding my call. The next week and a half went by without a return call. Since they were so highly rated on Angie's List I gave them another chance and called today, July 30. I was told by them that they are a heating and air conditioning company and do not work on fireplaces. I hung up and went back to their Angie's listing and saw the following under services "...fireplaces. gas leaks. log replacement." So, what I need worked on is a fireplace and I do believe I have a gas leak. I called them back and advised that their information on their Angie's List indicates they do work on fireplaces and was again advised they do not and that they would be looking into their Angie's List listing. I told them they should change their listing as it is misrepresenting their services.
Description of Work: I have a gas fireplace that I believe has a small leak since it has the usual pilot light but then about an inch away is a second, larger about two inch high flame. I wanted somebody to come out to repair it. I got Aire Serv off of Angie's list.

I called a few companies today and they were a few days to a week out. With over 100 degree weather coming I was dreading the wait. I called Aire Serv around 5pm and Jerime called me back immediately to let me know he could come out that night. He called a half an hour out, which he said he would do. Jerime and Jantsen arrived, were EXTREMELY professional, and took much longer than most people would to answer all of my questions and explain my system. We had them out to do a diagnostic test to determine the problem, unsure if we would have work completed. Both men provided such great explanations and service that we went for the needed repairs right on the spot. They went above and beyond to help us during hours most companies aren't open, provided great service, and had very competitive pricing to top it off! If you call and schedule your service, ask for Jerime and Jantsen. An hour later I'm writing a review from my completely cooled home....... Thank you so much!

It went fine. They were great. They were prompt. They did everything they said they would. I had no problems with them. They were quick to respond to me. They were busy. It was a busy time of the year. With my schedule too, it just took a while for us to get a date that met both our needs. I learnt a lot. They gave me some tips on how to keep the vents from building up and how to take care of them a little bit better.

See above! Service Rep is very thorough and I believe went above and beyond to make sure everything worked properly and left furnace even cleaner than when he came! He is definitely epitome of an excellent service rep for the company.

Aire Serv offered a $2000 discount on a normal A/C installation on an Angie's List Big Deal in the spring. Aire Serv installed the A/ C in the Trane XV 90 on 5/22/2014.. We were charged $3624 which was approx. $2000 less than "list." Not known at the time was that in removing and replacing the furnace vent line PVC and sheet metal debris was left in the vent line. When the furnace first came on in the fall we noticed rattling sounds in the PVC piping which had been replaced at the A/C install. This preceded a previously scheduled annual furnace inspection. We have carried a service contract with Jacobs Heating for many years. On Sept. 30 the Jacobs service technician, Nat, declares the furnace OK following an annual inspection. However, at our request he cleaned out the debris in the PVC vent line. He did not note that on the inspection report. In the next few weeks we noticed an erratic whine from the furnace and called Jacobs back in to take a look. James told us that the inducer was failing. James ordered the replacement kit and installed it (inducer, wiring harness and control unit) on October 30. The service cost was $1332. The furnace seemed operate OK after that. On Nov. 22 we suddenly had no heat. Because this was a Saturday evening, we decided to try to get thru the weekend. I shut the furnace down at the main power switch and was able to get the heat operating again. On Monday I called Jacobs, but the service person would not send a person out when the furnace was operating. It ran OK until the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving. I found the error codes (three red flashes) and called Jacobs. They would charge overtime for a call at that point, otherwise they would send someone out the following Wednesday. I managed to get things going again an called Jacobs on Friday. They sent Eric out to check. I don?t believe the furnace was operating when he arrived on Saturday, 11/29. He found that the condensate pump inlet was filled with PVC shavings and sheet metal screws. He cleaned it out. He also noted that the PVC vent line had a leak which was draining water back into the furnace near the inducer fan. He concluded that these problems were the cause of the instability. And left with the furnace running and the leaking condensate line with a temporary fix.. The cost of the service call was $269. Two hours later it went out (still Nov. 29). I got it back running again and vowed to call Aire Serv in to fix the problems. The furnace throughout this time was often (although not continually) giving three red flashes. Chris Rattray of Aire Serv came out on December 4 and ran a number of tests. He concluded that the main control board was causing instability in the inducer operation and it was failing under certain conditions. The control board had been replaced by Jacobs on 10/30. (I was not certain of this at the time.) He said his technician would come out the next day and replace the main control board. On Friday, Chris called to inform us that he could not purchase the control board separately. It was part of kit which matched it with a new inducer and control unit. He called Trane to check this and found that Jim from Jacobs must have omitted installing (and charging us for) the control board. He could not purchase the kit without the control board. I then called Jacobs and insisted on talking to someone who could deal with this, but was told that all that could be done was to send out a technician (probably our fourth from them) later in the day. On one hand we had a balky furnace on a Friday afternoon with an Aire Serv technician in the house with a kit which should solve the problem. The alternative was to send him packing and l wait for a Jacobs person to come out and assess the situation. We chose heat and certainty. We were charged $1463 for the installation. This apparently duplicated what Jacobs had done on 10/30. Later in the day I called Jacobs again and requested the Customer Service manager and was connected to Susan. I tried to explain the whole situation to her. She was in a meeting when I called in the morning, otherwise I might have been referred to her at the time. However, the service desk person did not suggest the possibility that anyone else could help me. Susan took the position that because Eric had noted water damage, she could not take responsibility for the control board operation. The replaced parts were returned to us by Aire Serv. The furnace has operated reliably since then. On a subsequent conversation Susan agreed to return the parts to Trane. Susan and Jim from Jacobs visited on 12/23. Susan talked to Trane who told her that the control board could be installed separately if the inducer and harness are up-to date. Jim said that he did install the control board, so everything was new when he left. So, either the control board he installed was defective, or it became water damaged. He did not see any evidence of water damage. Jim gets special merit for saying "I'm sorry you have had all this trouble." I think that was the first time we heard those words. Trane has credited Jacobs $840 for the returned parts and sent us the funds. If Aire Serv had not botched the A/C install they would not have been involved in any furnace problems. We received some of the extra $1463 that we spent back from Jacobs/Trane. However, the $269 service call on 11/29 was mostly to clean up the mess left by Aire Serv. Jim from Jacobs did give us a verbal apology, Aire Serv has not admitted to any wrongdoing. Aire Serve was happy to let us fend for ourselves. Jacobs did a good job of trying to make us whole to the best of their ability. One learns how good customer service really is when things go really wrong.
Description of Work: Aire Serv installed a new A/C in our existing Trane furnace. We then had problems with the furnace which may of have been precipitated by the A/C installation. The furnace was repaired twice.

Thanks for the review (removed members personal information). I can't see where it was our fault that your Trane furnace failed. Both times you called us, we were Johny on the spot to help you. Jerime pointed out what was broken on his first visit and let you know what we could do to fix it. You called another HVAC company (?) to do the repairs the first time when we could have done everything and you would have been all taken care of. Since you went with the other company, we still came out that same day you called to see what was going on after there technician had already repaired your furnace and charged you for it. I found that the inducer wasn't working and made the repairs. After that the furnace has been working perfect with no other issues to date. The only thing I can apologize to you for, is another HVAC company doing half the repairs needed and your furnace still not working after they did the repairs, not coming out to your home when you needed them, and not taking care of you like we did! Again, thanks for the review. I will pass this along to our team.

Appointment had to be reschedule at the day before to the next week due to demand.. I had already scheduled the day off. The next week they were suppose to be there between 2 - 4. At 4:00 I called to see where they were. They had to locate the tech that was still working on a job 50 miles away. So I had taken another day off work for nothing. The tech did show at 5:30. The tech was very friendly and professional.

I called yesterday and the air conditioner was fixed this morning. Jerime was polite, professional and my house is cool again even though it's suppose to be 99 degrees outside again today. I'm happy. (I think the price was probably good/typical for the repair made but given the fast speed of the service, I believe that it was a very good price.)

Maintenance service detected a few worn out parts and parts that needed cleaning. After calling in for part pricing and labor information, the service technician was able to stay an extra hour to perform the work needed which was great because we were just a few days away from an early heat wave in June! He provided a detailed description of what needed to be done and the cost for each item.
Description of Work: I purchased the maintenance service for $39 after our regular company no longer offered discounted maintenance service for our furnace and a/c unit. They did the maintenance service as promised.
