Aire Serv of the Willamette

I scheduled an appointment with the company but they had to cancel last minute due to an emergency. We rescheduled the appointment and the owner came out and provided me a tune up. He informed me that there was a problem with a part on my furnace which he said was a transformer. I asked him to send this to me in writing along with an estimate to have the part fixed. I have never received anything from them. I have called a few times asking them to send this information to me. They stated that they did not have my address so I provided them with my address. I did inform them that my address was on the check that I sent to them to pay for the tune up of my furnace. I still have not heard from them and it is almost two months since they came to my home. There has been poor communication and follow through with the company.

We'd smelled gas when we turned on the heat after returning from vacation and NW Natural found a burner that had a hole in it that was causing intermittent problems lighting all 4 burners. I believe we probably had this issue for 3 years since we moved in, but the smell was pretty noticeable, so we lived without heat over the weekend. On Monday morning, Dean came out and inspected our furnace. He gave us options to replace the burner or buy a new furnace. Dean spent a lot of time with us discussing our current furnace and options - he explained that our existing furnace was actually too big for the vent above it - this caused the motor to do more work than needed, and over time caused issues that deteriorated the furnace. Ours was 20 years old and only 80% efficient - I decided it was worth it to replace it with a variable-heating super-efficient model rather than fix the old one, since we are planning to live in this home for as long as possible. Because the furnace sat on top of our air conditioning coils and would need to be moved if we ever wanted to replace our air conditioning, I decided to replace our air conditioning coils (they are now larger) at the same time to make it easier to swap out our air conditioning unit in the future. Within 1-2 hours, Dean had Zach and Nate show up at our house with a new furnace, which they installed by the end of the day. We were very happy to finally have heat back! Zach and Nate were very professional during their installation, were respectful of our time and property, cleaned up after themselves, and answered all of our questions. During the install, they noticed the previous owner had connected a wire to the furnace to power an outlet across the other side of the house. They said it was not to code, so we called our electrician and they fixed the issue. When the electrician was in our crawl space, he noticed some water pooling around the condensate. I emailed Dean and he apologized and they came back out immediately to put in a pump and connect it to our plumbing free of charge. My experience told me that Aire Serv is professional and stands behind their work. I'm not really sure how to rate their pricing as I spent a lot of money, but got a very high-quality furnace - I gave them a B, but it might have been cheaper or more expensive than other providers, I don't know - Aire Serv was the only one we called (or I should say - the first one that responded...). The furnace work was $6,100 for the highest-end Lennox we bought and the coil replacement was another $750. I think we got $200 off for Angie's list and received 24-month financing at 0% (Angie's List promo as well), which was a nice bonus as well. It was a bit fortuitous that we noticed the water so quickly, but I credit them for coming out immediately to fix the issue. I'm glad I found them and would use them again if/when we have other heating/cooling needs.

It turned out okay. They came out within a week. They came back out for some other work. It was a good experience.

The guys did a very thorough job of cleaning and adjusting my gas furnace. They also went out of their way to resolve an irritating noise problem whenever the furnace turned itself on and off. They had to get a bit creative to find a solution, but hung in there until they had figured out a way to make it quieter. They were great!!!

A gentleman by the name of Brett Durbin came to my house and fixed my furnace. He was the nicest repair person I have ever encountered. Very professional, very kind and just a genuinely nice person. I highly recommend this company and I will definitely use them in the future if necessary. I will request Brett as well, he knows the true meaning of customer service.

Told us we shouldn't use the furnace. It needed to be fixed, and likely replaced. Said it was leaking natural gas and carbon monoxide. Offered to do the work. Had another heating company come (well known in Portland). They said there was nothing wrong with it; they could find no leaking. Decide for yourself.

The service person found cracks in my 22 year old gas furnace and recommended a new unit which they installed the next day. The new unit works great.

Excellent, they were at house on time, worked on my furnace for 45 minutes. Very please with service. I will use again.

Excellent. The tech cleaned my entire furnace and checked all parts. Move in my house 3 months ago and it had never been serviced. Fan had dust caked on and it was tripping one of my safety devices. Did not try to have me replace parts that were not needed yet. I ended up buying a service policy because they were OUTSTANDING! HIGHLY recommend them! Very personable and VERY informative.

They were on time and did a professional job for the $29.

Turned out that the furnace was much older than expected, but Aire Serv offered great insight on how to maintain the furnace despite its age.

Beautifully. The company communicated with us well and kept us informed about when the service technician would arrive. The technician, Mr. Durbin, was professional, knowledgable and quite pleasant to work with. He told us how to better use our system so as to get optimum efficiency from it.

He wanted to replace it and I decided no, because it was still working. So i decided not to replace the furnace. He asked me to replace one part and something else, but it would have cost $1,000 so I decided to have an alternate person look at it and I ended up not replacing anything. He was prompt, polite & thorough.

The only real problem was that Aire Serv was extremely slow to get back to me after I ordered the service call. I got no response to my emails and finally had to call them on the phone. I'd recommend calling them right after ordering service. However after that, the repair person showed up right on time and was informative and efficient. He diagnosed the problem and told us what parts were needed to fix it, even though they don't stock the parts because of the age of the furnace. The parts I need now are the ignition control and gas valve. Universal parts are available from Honeywell that are suppose to work and are only around $200, a whole lot cheaper than a new furnace.

Not convenient and not reliable. Booking an appointment was over a month out. They give a two-hour window for appointments so you don't actually have a firm time and DIDN'T SHOW within the two-hour window. Had to re-schedule. Close to the end of the second two-hour window on a different day, technician arrived and was POLITE, FRIENDLY and KNOWLEDGEABLE. Would have loved to give a high review but (as many reviewers have found) their scheduling is not professionally executed.

Very good.The professional service man, he had lots of experience. The interactions went fine. He showed me what he was doing, how it all worked and gave me some tips on what I could be looking at in the future. It turned out fine. Professionalism is definitely an A.

Did not respond for over a week. I had to call them to set up an appointment. That being said the serviceman was very informative, very polite, and very professional. I would definitely recommend them.

Both techs were very professional and patient with our hectic morning household. They educated me without mansplaining. I'd definitely use them again.

The professional took his time, explained everything , and gave good advice. The only problem is that he showed up two hours early! Once I let him know I was at work he came at the scheduled time, and did a great job.
