Description of Work: Located area of a pipe that cracked and fixed it. It went well. He offered to stay on a Sunday and keep digging but tossed out that if he did it the following morning, it would be at regular pay rather than off- hour rated.

Description of Work: I had used this company before, so called them when my kitchen sink. Tech showed up, told me there was a $59 service fee, and recommended a 'bio' product to keep the drains clear of greasy sludge for $66. That was all fine, but then told me it was going to be $267ish to snake the drain. Close to $400 to clear the drain with no guarantee that he would fix it. In all fairness, this is a 1943 home, so could have old galvanized pipes or cast iron joints. Still, his estimate is outrageous!! I did not use them, did not pay the service fee and called them rather than taking it out on the tech. They really could not have cared less that I was upset. So, I called another company and had it all completed - after hours and with a mileage charge - for under $200.

+ 0 moreI called for an estimate. An appointment was set for Monday the following week. The plumber was prompt, clean and professional. He made an estimate. I felt it to be fair and asked when the work could be scheduled. He said if I approved, he could begin immediately. The work was completed the same day. After two days of observation I concluded there was water leaking somewhere from the water heater and called. Within an hour the same plumber arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem.
Description of Work: Repaired broken/leaking shut-off valve to the house (sunk about 3 feet down); attached earthquake straps to, cleaned and serviced water heater after discussing the pros and cons of replacing same with a tankless water heater; installed another hose bib at the rear of my house by tieing onto the existing line in the crawl space.

Description of Work: Due to a leak in an outside gas line, the gas was shut off. The plumber gave us an estimate, then set about cutting off most of the old pipe, putting in a valve and capping it off.

+ -1 moreWhen I mentioned a planned remodel to my home in the future, the service representative suggested I include re-plumbing the house in my plans. He recommended the type of pipe to use and gave exact specifications for future reference. I asked for an estimate and was pleased with the quoted price. At no time was I pressured to do any more than solve my immediate problem. He was polite, respectful, fast and efficient. A-1 Plumbing was recommended to me by a friend of the family. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others and will call them again when I need help with plumbing.
Description of Work: A part under the bathroom sink crumbled when I tried to unplug the drain. A-1 gave me an estimate, explained what needed to be done, cleared the drain and replaced the broken part. The job was completed to my satisfaction in about 20 minutes.
