3Rs Construction & Remodeling

Overall, the experience with 3R's was fair. We had them do some fungi remediation in the crawspace. There was a last minute add of troubleshooting for smoke detector replacement. This last minute add is where the issue comes in. During the time of this work, cost of doing this work was not discussed. We were under the impression since it was a small item that it would there would not be additional cost since the fungi remediation was already a hefty cost. I think the fault here lies on both ends. Buyer should not make assumptions. Also, contractor should not agree to do additional work without a bid. Even if it's an on the spot bid which they have to call into the office for. Based on this, I would only use 3R's with everything in writing, but there are so many other reasonably priced options, it'd be hard to use them again.

This company was the only one recommended for the removal and replacement of broken of cracked asbestos tiles located on the exterior of my home. Due to a short escrow they responded quickly, even driving to Portland to pick up my order when it was realized it was going to arrive the day after the inspection. I would work with them again. The only thing I did not like is that 4% was added to my total because I used a credit card. Even so they did a good job and the tiles were a non issue. Thank you 3R!

It was a great first contact with 3R's. Since we are folks who save our pennies and pay cash for all contract work done, we know we won't be able to jump right on this project this year, but Duane sure made it tempting. A very professional interaction that we appreciated very much, and look forward to working with 3R's in the future.

They really brought the value of our house up, Absolutely fabulous, Nice, did the job in less than an hour, and the cleaned up their mess, and took the old doors with them.

They came out quickly to access the bid but I had to call them after a week or so for their bid to be e-mailed to me. The bid was two and a half times higher than the contractor I hired for the same job. It might have been that they were so busy that they thought the only way they would take the job was to over charge me. I wouldn't recommend them.

Excellent. Punctual. Described the solution and completed the project on time and with attention to detail.

They were fine. It was 2 hours for $69. They were prompt and on time. They were very good at what they did.

3R's helpfulness and service were evident from our first contact with their estimator. Mike was head and shoulders above others we spoke with in asking questions and making sure he understood what we were looking for. We had a floated-in engineered hardwood floor installed and were looking to match previous work as closely as possible. Tony (the flooring installer) brought samples and we were able to get almost an exact match for the new work. Some of the material had to be special ordered - mostly trim and transition pieces, but it was worth the wait. Tony and his assistant came in and took care of things from start to finish - they were punctual and reliable. He also replaced our almost 30 year old tile entryway at the front door. The new flooring looks great - we're very pleased. We used the same material on the stairs and it also turned out well. The stair installer, Tim, made helpful suggestions and modified the stair bullnose to make sure we had a great end product. Both Tony and Tim were respectful of our home and didn't leave us with a mess to clean up. The project manager, Joe, was really great to work with as well - very professional and helpful. After having a major remodel project go south a few years ago, I was reluctant about this project, but I'm glad that we've done it. I think the 3R team has the right formula - quality people, quality work, and solid professionalism.

They came out and gave me their bid. Followed up with me and we set a date to get it done. They finished in their time line. All they guys were friendly and helpful and full of lots of information. They were great!!! I have Leaf guard gutters, and I just wish that they had told me that the gutters HAD to come down to finish this job.Leaf Guard gutters and their people get a thumbs down, and I don't recommend them. I love my gutter but they gave me a bid and then had to up it, because they did not come out and LOOK at my house.

Just a bunch of great guys, with great personalitys. needed the job done right away,and oh boy they where there. Took 2 days to do the job right and thoughs guys did not stop until the job was done.othere wise very hard working,and very professional. very happy with the resalt. They have transformed my pateo into my favorite place to be. many thanks!!!

This installation seems to be holding up well and performing as expected. It was a relatively small job, so the 3rs owner can be excused for maybe not giving it the attention that we would have liked. Overall 3Rs did a very good job on all the installation and used good materials and a great sump pump. As it turned out we could have done this job a bit more inexpensively by hiring two separate specialists, one for the underfloor insulation, and the other for the sump pump. But 3Rs saved us the trouble of scheduling and contracting with two separate contractors. So I say well done!

The work started in October and they still haven't finished. I was really unhappy with them at first. I originally wanted them for a handyman special for $88 to hang a shower curtain. In talking to them about it, he threw up the idea of just taking the bathtub out and putting in a shower staff. They came back with a bid for the shower staff and it didn't go well. They did come back recently and fix almost everything. There is still one thing with the drain on the shower. The plumber couldn't tie it into the main drain going into the septic tank. He brought it outside the house and tied it into a pipe, which was a very poor solution for that. I have to get another plumber in to redo that. They did an admirable job of trying to fix everything. They just should have done it right in the first place. The handyman did all the work and he may be a very good handyman but he wasn't good at installing shower tiles. When he was finished the floor did not drain properly and there were some low spots that were behind the drain. When we started using it, we started getting grout and adhesive oozing up between the floor tiles. They ended up having to pull the floor and the first row of tiles on the walls and the tiles on the bench. The bench was built out of 2x4's and they put a piece of plywood on it. The guys that came back said that was not the way to do it so they ripped it out and built a bench with 6 cement blocks with tiles over the concrete blocks. The floor drains really nicely now and it looks really nice now. They did a nice job of fixing it but they should have done it right in the first place. They should have had a team doing it instead of a handyman trying to do it all. The price seemed high but I didn't compare it or get any other bids. They did correct all of the problems except for the plumbing. The initial quality was real low. After they were finished the first time, I had Duane, the owner, come out and look at it. After seeing it, he didn't have any qualms about fixing it. Some of the people were very good and some were very poor.

They were fine. They were professional and did exactly what we agreed on.

They arrived on time and prepared with the tools and parts they needed. Very efficient and quality work.

Took some creative thinking but figured out how to get it done.

Colin and Matt showed up promptly, went to work right away and did an excellent job. I bought the 2-hour AL coupon but the job took longer than the two hours (although that was not really a surprise.) They were polite, hardworking and knowledgable. They even repaired and reinstalled the lazy-susan which I hadn't requested but very much appreciate. I would definately recommend them to friends.

I purchased a deal on Angie's List for 2 hours of Handyman service. We set the appointment for 9 am on the 6th. At 9:15 am when no one had arrived, I called the office and was told that there was a scheduling problem and Tammy would call me right back. 30 minutes later, I was still waiting for a call. I called back and was told that the worker would call me soon and would be about 20 minutes out from where he was currently working. At 11 am, I was called by the worker, and he said he was 30 minutes out. He arrived about 11:30 am. I gave him clear instructions on priorities of the repairs that needed to happen. He did the repairs, but was not able to finish all of the sheetrock areas. The areas that he did do were fine. He did a good job repairing the paneling and the window trim. I would not call this company again because of the scheduling problem. This property is being renovated, and I had floor refinishing going on at the main level of the house. I had to wait 2.5 hours for the worker to arrive, and then spend 2 more hours inside the house while he performed the repairs. For 4.5 hours I was inside while the sanding was going on. The noise was horrific even with ear plugs. Even if this were not the case, it is absolutely unacceptable to keep a client waiting for 2.5 hours.

The company was very prompt and very helpful. I had purchased a Big Deal for Handyman service, but the work I needed done did not meet their criteria for handyman.

They did a great job getting as much done in the time allotted. I will hire them again when I get back from China.

They did an excellent job. We are picky and we had no complaints.

They worked the entire time and stayed until finished. It looks great.

Everyone I dealt with at Three Rs was friendly and professional. Unfortunately their estimate came in quite a bit higher than the others so i was not able to use them for the job. Duane did come by the house himself when i wasnt happy with the initial bid. His bid was better but still over 50% higher then what i ended up paying. The reason for the B grade on quality was because the initial guys who demoed some of the dry rot areas demoed a section of the deck not on the inspection sheet i forwarded them so i did have to pay to have that repaired also. Honest mistake they were just being thorough I guess but did end up costing me some money. I do think they are worth calling to get a bid on any job you have around the house.

Colin and Sam were here to do the jobs that I could not do. Colin was the lead and he has a great professional manner. He listened to everything that I wanted done. We discussed options, agreed to a plan and they had everything done expediciously. One hour for each man. They cleaned up after themselves and were at all times respectful of me and my home. I am very happy with the work that they did for me!I would have them back!

First of all we had telephone communication problems for which I am responsible. I didn't turn on the ringer for my cell phone which was the number I told them to use. However, I was home waiting for the handyman, saw him pull up to my house, saw he was on the phone and decided to wait so I didn't disturb him I went to another room to wait for the doorbell which I never heard. Went back to look outside and he was gone. I called the office and they had him come back. Handyman said he rang the doorbell (which was functioning). I say he didn't. So, my word against his. Had 3 tasks for him do do: Rehang a gate--he didn't do it because I didn't have the correct bolts. Put up some quarter round in the kitchen around cupboards--he didn't do it because he didn't have a miter box and my miter box was "the wrong kind". Install a motion-detecting solar powered light outside--installed fine but the light does not work.. This deal was a total rip -off for me.

The work I needed done did not fall in handyman category as I needed skilled craftsmen. Both contractor's were very customer oriented and took pride in a job done to perfection.
