Everything went well.

Tho they didn't get the job - I enjoyed the professionalism, the knowledge, and spirit of their work.

We referred them to somebody yesterday. We were very happy with their job. They did a good job. They were careful. They didn’t mess up our yard and kept it clean. They were on time. They did an excellent job. The person we dealt with was a young man. It was he and his wife, but he owns the company. She answers the phone and they are sort of wholesome. I don’t know what their background is, but I think they live in Dallas and so, he comes to Portland from Dallas. I sort of instinctively felt like I could trust him. He also presented us with a booklet at the time when he did the plan and the bid that tells all about his philosophy of the work. It also includes the guarantee, warranties and all that kind of stuff. It also includes that he is certified for liability insurance and he pays his safe bill. He also has a consumer protection notice in it. He was very thorough in his presentation.

I had thought about redoing my backyard as a patio for several years and spent several months sketching out ideas on paper. I also visited home and garden shows to talk to vendors and get an understanding of the cost. When I finally had a sketch I liked, I started getting estimates. After speaking to a few designers, I also spoke with Stone Paving. I'd seen them at a show and they followed up with me. (I also looked them up on Angie's list.) More than one designer who came to give me an estimate spoke highly of them. Taylor came out to see the job and look at my sketch. We discussed my concerns about rain runoff and Taylor recommended a design solution -- the river-rock-topped drain along the fence. He also recommended extending the pavers under the gate to meet the driveway, to make it easier to roll out trash and recycling. He took a copy of my sketch, which he used to make the estimate. I gave him the job. When the crew came to start the work they used my sketch, which was not exactly to scale, as they installed the pavers. As the work progressed, I saw a few things that didn't look quite like what I had visualized (since the plan was only a sketch). I asked that a few small sections of stone be moved and Taylor or the crew chief quickly implemented the changes. On the first day Taylor discovered that some sort of retaining structure would be needed in one section, since the grading ended up exposing a lot of soil below the back fence. At my request he figured the cost of two solutions: pressure-treated wood or stone. The cost was reasonable, so I went with the stone. The job took almost five full days. The crew did a great job cleaning up the street where the materials had been stacked and staged. I'm very happy with the way the finished yard looks. Now, if it would just stop raining, I'd go out and start prepping my raised beds for some plants.

They did our driveway and front walk way. They worked with the Gardner to do all this. They were on time and they were very reasonable too. My overall experience with them was excellent. They did the job for half the price than the landscaping guy. They used the same materials and yet had a reasonable bid.

The experience has been really good. The bid they gave us has been about $4000 less than the other business. The owner himself came to do the bidding and also came with us to look for what we want. They have been very attentive.

They were excellent. The work was done as scheduled and without complications. The finished product exceeded our expectations.
